I'm interested in FS2crew for the Maddog but one thing makes my wonder. English is not my native language so I fear that the voicerecognition might not work for me because of that. For example I have a program called ATCsimulator which can use voicerecognition and that didn't worked well for me at all. Is FS2crew expected to function better? Is there any FS2crew user here which don't have english as their native language? Does voicerecognition in FS2crew works fine for you? What are your native language?I might point out that I tried ATCsimulator on a Win XP system and now I use a Win 7 x64 system for flight simming. Maybe voicerecognition works better on Win 7?

I've been watching a lot of aviation videos lately, many of people landing their GA's right as the stall horn starts going of. I've been in a few planes with friends and they do the same relatively easy. Now when I try that in the sim, it never really quite works out that way. Usually if I try it my pitch ends up being so high from trying to keep the plane flying until the very end before the horn goes off that it usually ends up with a 10+ pitch and a possible tail strike. I've tried this with the dreamfleet baron 58, Carenado 172, 206, and probably some others. Is this a problem with FS or my technique?

  5. Can someone explain the difference between payware and donationware? I always thought donationware was you download something. try it out, then donate if you want to donate something. But I found 3 different donationware FS9 planes where you have to donate first. Wouldn't that be payware?

  6. Hey Guys, I currently have Blueprint Simulations KRDU FS2004 Scenery, and there is a flatten issue around the airport, where the ground textures are flickering and you can see the grass or ground around the plane...I Have UTUSA....thats the one addon I have....any suggestions? For those who like Overland planes, which are not pretty realistic, here is some hints, how to make it little closer to real deal. Don't expect that we are goin' to make it "that's it", cause this is only modification without FDE......so, what you need for this, are those things:1. Overland Airbus A340-200/300/500/600 (payware)2. ISG Retrofit Gauge v1.6 (payware)3. RCB gauges (freeware) from Avsim or Flightsim, just look for the file called "rcbgp-33.zip" (those are automated Altitude Callouts...500, 400, 300...)4. A340 Iberia photoreal, with cockpit textures by Pablo Diaz (freeware), again look at Avsim or Flightsim for file "iberiaec10b.zip"Now, if you have all thos…

Hello everyone, I recently ran in to this freware software called freetrack, I was just wondering if anyone has used this program and their thoughts? Irealize that there is some self building that has ti be done, which from the looks of it doesnt seem very complicated. So I guess what im wondering is if this is too good to be true???Thanks

Where, in your opinion, would be the best place to install FS9 add-on sceneries?Having just performed an upgrade / maintenance to my computer I re-installed the OS (Windows 7 64-bit) and the FS9 from scratch. I have three, 1TB WD Caviar Black HDs, each partitioned into smaller partitions. The OS is installed on the first partition of the first physical drive, FS9 in the first partition on the second drive. I have about 50 GB of add on sceneries, payware, freware. Previously all this scenery was installed on the same drive and the same partition where the FS9 was installed. I started to wonder if there would be any benefit to installing all this scenery on the third drive.…

Is there anyway to discover which BGL is responsible for which AI traffic, apart from turning them off one at a time by renaming them?I have duplicate flights somewhere in my (way too complicated, I know) FS9 system. So that, for example, two dakotas turn up in horrifically close formation. I'd really like to tidy things up somehow. Does anyone know of, say, a utility that would add the originating BGL filename to the on-screen traffic label? Or a traffic viewer that does similar?

  11. I just bought a new rig for FS9 and have started the long process of setting things up just how I like it. To save myself some time, is there a quick to delete all keyboard/joystick assignments within FS9, rather than deleting them one by one? Thanks for any help.

Just installed WOAI and about 15 airlines.. HOLY COW!! Why did I wait so long? Unless I am blind as a bat, which is entirely possible, I do not see United Airlines in the WOAI list and do not find it here at AVSIM. Does anyone know where to get it?

  18. The other day I wrote a short post about a neat little scenery of Sky King's Flying Crown Ranch and through a POOR choice of words I labeled it, "A Free Emma Field". Someone else wanted some pictures of Emma Field so I entered "FS 2004 Emma Field" into Google, to locate it's commercial site, to add a link for the photos and was very surprised that Google had picked up and listed my Avsim Forum thread as a Emma Field link. I need to be more careful ! jerrycwo4

Anyone have an issue where Emma Field stops loading up and a CTD happens everytime you tried to load the area? I ended up uninstalling Emma Field and still find the whole county/area around where the airport once stood unable to load. I can fly all around the Seattle area with the exception of the area where Emma was once installed. Very weird problem...

I have been flying reasonably well for a number of years, and thought I'd try out the old PPL checkride, which I couldn't get near to completing. I've seen lots of postings about the precision required and it IS possible, as you can see from various Youtube postings. I'm just wondering whether any members have tried the checkride lately, and what they think. My views are that it IS probably more rigid than in real life, bearing in mind the discrepencies of control settings that are possible in flightsim, and requires tremendous concentration to get the figures exactly on the dot. If you had to apply such concentration in real life flying, I guess it wouldn't be much fun. N…

Since I think I have FS2004 "tweeked" about as good as it can get and my really only complaint with it is that the mid to distant scenery (ground) is not clear enough for me , I'm thinking of trying FSX. A couple of questions:1. I have an extra harddrive that is not being used on my main flight computer. Should I install FSX on it (drive D) or can you have Fs2004 and FSX on the SAME harddrive running both with no problems?2. From Amazon.com I see three difrerant versions for sale.A. FSX Gold $31.80B. FSX Deluxe $49.99C. FSX Aceleration Exspansion $40.00What's the differance and/or advantage between these three differant versions? Thanks jerrycwo4

THIS IS FOR FS2004 ONLYWell, it's really not Emma Field, but it is free! I'm old enough to remember listening to the radio( no such thing as a TV) when I was a young boy and every Saturday morning I would listen to a program named, SKY KING. He had a ranch in central Arizona and he also had a Cessna 310 named the song bird. It looks a lot like FS2004's Emma Field and its free. All of these files might be here on Avsim, but the first reference had me go to Flight Sim.com and so that's what I did.1. Go to Flight Sim.com and go to their "search". Under "search for text" type skyking. This will bring you to a file named, "skykingv2.zip". Download and install it. It installs …
