Hi everyone! I'm gonna cut short to the story but I had a major computer problem that cause the loss of everything on my hard drive. I have been able to find and re-install almost everything except for a few things. I am basically looking for the instruction file that shows how to replace the FS 2002 GPS in the Eric Marciano A320 panel with the FS 2004 version. I looked everywhere I could think of without success. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I want to create a new weather station in FS2004 for a new real world airport. Can anyone show me how this is done so that the new wxstation shows with its "hour glass" symbol in FS2004 map view and so that my weather program (FS Meteo) will recognise the ICAO code for the airport? Perhaps an XML template is available.Quentin Moore

HI!! So I'm kind of tired of the default ATC in FS9 and I would also like to do my own approaches..I like to be realistic..I have read some of the posts on how to shoot around it a bit but I like contacting the center at all times..., so can anyone tell me which one would be the best to buy? Or if you know any that are freeware that would be great too..THANKS

Hi all,Last night I installed the freeware airport scenery for Jersey in the Channel Islands. The runway is quite short and I wondered if 737s actually fly to Jersey? Also, I did a test using the 737 Experience plane and it was able to take off easily. Then I used the PDMG 737 and it could not take off with the short runway.I would expect the PMDG to be more accurate but can anyone tell me if either or both are wrong in terms of take-off distance and how I would go about changing the aircraft config so take offs distances are the same for both planes?(P.S. I was using default take-off weights, I had not loaded up passengers usuing the extra PMDG utility)

Question, Why are frame rates really good early in the morning and late at night? Like for example, at KATL, my frames are great early in the morning just around dawn time, and late at night around 10pm....but really at any other time of day around 2/3pm frames arent that great....this is also the case in the NYC area....at like KJFK.KEWR.KLGA....Eventhough there are so many planes at all the gates...frames are good...

A few years back I read a post on the old Cloud 9 support forum (now closed) that you can increase the brightness of the cockpit lighting in a VC. I tried it and it worked. Now I need to do it again but because the forum has closed down, I can't look up the posting and I've forgotten how it worked. Does anybody know? As I recall, it involved increasing a value in the aircraft.cfg file to a value that FS9 supposedly couldn't handle but in fact it can. Anybody know how to do this?

So it appears that there are a number of versions available for KIND. So what's your opinion on which one is the best. Please chime in with your view and thanks!Mark

Hi everybodyI don't know if it's common knowledge, but FS2Crew are having a 30% off all products sale until the J4100 edition is released. I've managed to get nearly all the FS9 editions after being won over by the MD-11 edition. Just add the 'Jetstream' code at the checkout. If you haven't used FS2Crew before, this is a great chance to try one to see if you like it.BTW, I'm not involved with FS2Crew in any way, etc, etc, just a satisfied user trying to spread the love... :( Cheers, SLuggy

I was just thinking how to follow the official approach procedures, e.g. with racetrack on default ATC that, by default, vectors an aircraft to ILS path always from "straight in". Did anyone tried to ignore orders asking to perform some turning? Will the ATC cancel our IFR plan in such case? Of course, I am going to follow the commands about the altitude but I would be sometimes happy to land more like the real pilots do.I know that I might buy some 3rd party ATC products, but before that I would be happy to do some training with the default ATC.

Now that I have a new i7 980x extreme addition and installed fs9. To my surprise fs9 really didn't run much better then when I had my i7 960 .After, doing some tweaks and still not seening a big differance in performance, I started feel like I just wasted a thousand dollars so I read up on gaming systems at toms hardware.I found out that turning off hyper threading increased performance. So I gave it a try .Now I can see my system fly in fs9 like never before. So if you have not tried to turn off hyper threading this may be the trick that will help out you and your fs9 performance.

Hi all, I was flying into KDFW yesterday & there were a lot of lightning around. The problem is most of the time it looked just like a block of white. Even the bolt from the cloud looked like a thick white block. I know it has not been that way forever but something has changed. I checked my effects files & they are the default files. I have a ATI HD 4800 512 meg card using the 8.702.00 drivers. I am running a Pentium D with 2gigs of ram on a Asus P5B motherboard with XP SP3. I am going to set up a test flight so I can play with my settings & drivers but some direction to start would be nice. Thanks.Pat Callaghan

After all of this time, yesterday I installed FSX. The reason I purchased and installed it was to try to decide if I wanted to take the time and spend the money for a NEW CUSTOM COMPUTER to run FSX. I've shown my FS2004 , three 26" monitor setup many times and I really love the way that FS2004 looks except for the "blurry scenery at mid to horizon distance". I'm really late getting on to this but I need to try to make ONLY THE SCENERY ( landclass , water, mesh) look as good as possible so that I can make a judgment as to how much better the ground scenery will look in FSX, over my FS2004.This is my starting point..... FSX, right out of the box looks pretty rough ! Can't…

I just read with great interest the below post on this subject, but alas, it's just too complicated for me to understand and to try to use. I get the part about moving all (but maybe a few) aircraft out of FS into a stand by folder and I've read before about "unchecking" most of the scenerys in the scenery library that you are not using at the time, BUT how about just fixing the PROBLEM that caused all of this in the first place? I have been flying Flight Sims for twelve years and NEVER had this OOM error, untill...... I installed the Ultimate Terrain USA/Alaska and Canada "sceneries" a few weeks ago. Yea, I could always delete them and the OOM problem would probably go …

Is anyone using the Nvidia 3D Vision shutter glass set in combination with FS2004?I'm using the Eyecessories Viper 3D Red/Cyan for a while but the bad colors and out of line lights like the PAPI are frustrating me more and more.Acer have brought out a new 120 Hz 24 inch display so I'm in doubt to make the next step in 3D simming. Please post your own good or bad experience with the Nvidia 3D Vision set.Cheers...

I have just had to do a reinstall of FS9 after several years of using it. There is a minor conflict between the Megascenery Northern California scenery and FlyTampa's KSFO. Somebody put out a patch that fixed it but I cannot remember where it came from. Can anyone help?

I found info on Serbia's vatsim network forum that a new scenery of the airport in Belgrade is under construction by some company called Skyhighsim. I've also found a link to their just opened forum: SkyhighsimBy the screenshoots I've seen it seems interesting.

Sadly, my otherwise very enjoyable experiance of Flightsim has been thwarted as increasingly I am receiving the dreaded the OOM message. I have trawled through previous postings relating to this subject and have come to the conclusion that I have to revert from XP(32) to a 64bit application. I have two questions: 1. Purchasing a 64bit application, would it be recommended to uninstall everything relating to Flightsim and basically start again with a blank canvas. I have to say I am bit daunted by this as it has taken years with numerous add-ons to get FS9 where it is today and 2. Would it better to stick with XP64 or make the jump to Windows 7? Ideally, someone will say t…
