Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Can anyone help me with this ? When loading FSX I get the opening screen OK then the first page where you select your aircraft etc, as soon as I click on "change" to select a different plane I keep getting an error message which says " FSX HAS ENCOUNTERED A FATAL ERROR" the window goes opaque and FSX shuts down. I had been flying all morning no problems, took a break, went back to it and I get this. No hardware or software changes had been made prior to this happening. My PC specs are here and I am running FSX with acceleration on Win 7, 64 bit Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Buster.

Hi guys, not sure if anyone's had similar problems (I've tried searching to see if anyone has, but not found anything). I've been having this problem for a few weeks now, It happens when I change views or go from windowed to full screen mode. My aircraft will disappear and this is then accompanied shortly afterwards by a CTD. Its happened with QW757, LVLD767, and even with Aerosoft's Keflavik X scenery addon - so its not an isolated problem. My initial guess is its a graphics problem but I'm not computer wizard so I was wondering if anybody could help me please? Hi I have a really annoying problem, The first time i load the flight everything goes fine, but then later during the flight (it might be after 5 minutes or it might be after 2 hours...) When FS needs to load again... Then the loading freezes when "traffic is being loaded"... it doesnt CTD, but just freezes... My guess is that I might have two AI traffic-thingys installed... maybe I have two colliding ai-packages or something? anyway I can see if this is the case? and if so... anyway I can remove one?:-)

So much fun flying all that way then lining up for the runway then...CRASH. I was getting tons of different .dll crashes usually about 30min to 1hr or so into a flight. The UI and api were the most common. Figured it was my overclocking so raised the voltage, was better but still crashing pretty reliably. Turns out the solution was to disable my antivirus, in this case MS Security Essentials. And I lowered my voltage back down too. Hope this may help others.

Hello, My CTD experiences have been few and usually dealt with OOM errors. However, over the last couple of weeks, I've been getting a CTD that results in a dialogue box stating "Failed to read from file". The only changes I make to my FSX are usually additions of scenery products, and this error has occurred in both default and add-on sceneries. I've been running FSX on the same system since December virtually error-free. You can see my specs on my profile. Does anyone know what file FSX is trying to read when this error happens? Does this have to do with file corruption? Thanks for any assistance you can provide!

I am aware that this has been brought up before but I still haven't found a solution: A few days ago I was repeatedly attempting a certain part of a flight (from a saved point) until I got a fatal error - I don't exactly remember if this was when it happened - but was not particularly worried as this has happened a few times before. However, when I went to start FSX the next day, I would get a little way into the starting blue box before a little window appeared saying a fatal error had occured and FSX would have to close. good day folks, As the itle suggests i keep getting the "fsx has encountered a probem and needs to close" Ive tried the automation.dll fix (even though im on xp32 ), as most of the time the crashes occur when either right or left clicking drop downs or view change etc. This crashed even when ony fsx is running with no addons. So all has been running smooth for over 9 months and yesterday had my first CTD. I know i should be happy that it has taken this long. I had just updated 2 pcs of software, GSX and flightbeam KPHX. This has been going on since I downloaded the airac cycle from 2 months ago. I downloaded the update for the CS 57/67/77 and the Wilco Airbus series. And it has happened with both of the aircraft. What happens is when I am inserting the flight plan, while still on the ground, it freezes then stops. The best example I have is I was flying the Wilco a321 from CLT to PHX. Well from high's to lows. I just got DX10 working nicely and all of a sudden the next day I started FSX and get an fatal error on start up. Initially I was getting the "FSX process not found. FSX handle: 0" which I know is related to EzDok. Over the past few days all I have changed is adding DX10 Shader Fixes V3.0.0 and updating FSDreamteams Coatl as prompted by FSX. I did a flight from Gatwick to Brussels in the NGX and about 5 minutes after departure I selected spot view to check the weather around me as I'd just bought OPUS. As I panned around in spot view I noticed the engines sounded like they were increasing and decreasing in thrust. I then when back to the VC an realised my plane was just suspended in mid air with everything still running (instruments and sound) has anyone else experienced this? Request for help on diagnosis / troubleshooting the following weird issue- During routine flights, usually after about 30 mins or so, my Windows 7 box will suddenly freeze up during FSX and a LOUD BUZZING SOUND will come from the speakers (not the PC). Onscreen, the FSX in-flight image is frozen in time... (NO BLUE SCREEN CTD) Here is the sound, in MP4 format. It gets a bit louder after a few seconds because I moved the MIC closer to the speakers. Hello all. The problem of blocking FSX because of "ui.dll" then a few days later with "Simprop.dll" is resolved and was a good adventure and rich in information ... and problem solved. At the time I write these lines I do not know anything about this incident caused by that damn "Ui.dll." I investigated seriously ... I still investigates. For the Past month i have been searching for ways to solve this issue and why it fezzes in mid air. Hi AVSIM gang! So I spent some time putting my comp specs, so please take a look and tell me how the heck I get FSX to run as smoothly as I truly believe it can on the beast that I built. I have Win7 64 bit PRO and when FSX is installed without any add ons except accellerator. It runs beautifully. I tested out a few flights, short, medium and long haul with default aircraft..no problems. Hello, I have a new computer with Windows 7 32bit, first i had Vista 32bit and everything worked fine. Now if im going to fly after 10-15min my game is freezing and i get a fatal error, i tried already to run as admin and compatibility mode ( Windows XP SP 2 or SP3) and it is still not working. Reinstalled FSX on my system back in February and experienced nothing but CTD's, usually within 15-25 minutes following take-off. I even posted here looking for help - http://forum.avsim.n...-use-some-help/ As you can see, nothing seemed to have worked, that includes the dll I downloaded (against my better judgement I might add) and I eventually paid the price for that. Hi all Made a huge mistake and installed the FSX SP3. The FS started up but after a few seconds when I was within the flightdeck the screen went white. I tried this a few times more and always the same problem I then uninstalled SP3 and now it doesn't even start up properly anymore. I start it and before it goes into the flight, FS stops with he MSG Program has stopped working Before I uninstall all and re install all (which is going to take me ages) Any ideas what I can do to get it running again? For some reason I often get ntdll.dll crashes when I change views... This seems to be somehow related to sounds, when I switch view (using keyboard) from cockpit to outside view often sounds either disappear or get weird for few seconds before FSX stops responding and crashes. Seems to happen more with payware aircraft such as PMDG 737NGX & QW Avro. Hi: I just bought a new computer 4gig processor 16 gig memory 2gig video card and installed fsx on it. It runs great ... Frame rates from 70 up to 189fps. I have one plane from FSD that I use alot and it worked great in FSX on my old win XP machine...now when I load it, it loads ok at the airport and everything is going great.. frame rate76... can zoom and pan in views ... switch to external views... but when I make a mouse click anywhere it crashes to desktop.. Hi everyone I am currently getting this black screen issue ever since formating to Window 7 Ultimate 64 bit . I have tried all the fixes in avsim forum one of them is adding a window vista uiautomationcore.dll to my main fsx folder. That didn't work but it helps when moving to some menu items like switching views or something .
