Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

Hi there, I'm new to AVSIM forums but intermediate with FSX. I have an issue with a multiple display. I am using a EVGA GTX 660 TI connected to two monitors both at 1360x768. One is connected by a VGA and the other HDMI. My desktop spans perfectly fine. I would like to use one screen for my 'main view' and the other for my instruments. FSX runs fine on my primary display, but when I undock the instruments and move them to the other display, they freeze up and/or show a black screen. Any help would be great! Hi folks, I had a virus infect my pc a few weeks ago and I needed to reinstall the OS and FSX from scratch, after 2 1/2 years of trouble free operation. I am very experienced with FSX and the issues that can cause crashes, as I have learned from trial and error, and most importantly, from everyone here in Avsim, for the last 5 years. I have seen it all, from hardware related crashes like a underpowered PSU causing reboots during flight, to the dreaded G3d.dll crashes (which have now been solved by the latest FSUIPC), so I feel like I have the ability to resolve just about all the common causes for CTDs or error messages, except for today. Hey guys, just got my new rig yesterday...but got a huge problem there..i cant run fsx, i get CTD´s every 2 minutes or so.. with that failure: uiautomationcore.dll somethings wrong with that dll..any help? fixes :(

Well, for me at least I've discovered a combination of things that have given me absolutely unreal performance with fsx and all my Orbx sceneries. I've added 15-20 fps on top of what was typically about 24-40 fps, zero stutters or problems, and can actually max the autogen sliders to the far right over Seattle and get 20-30 fps. Everywhere else I'm averaging 40-50 fps. The lowest I ever see is 22 and that's around dense airports like Harvey field from Orbx. Even at 22, the sim feels like 30 fps. I was wanting to pick your brains here. I have a i7 2600k with 8bg ram, gtx580 and for some reason when I fly a long flight my sim crashes. I noticed my resource monitor is showing all three cores maxed out. I have great performance when it is running, but for some reason the longer it runs fsx will just freeze. I have no idea. One more thing I can restart fsx and it runs fine as long as I don't try a long flight say more than four hours. Thanks For the help, Anthony

Hiya guys Last few days I now get this every time I close FSX: This started since I disabled ORBX and installed FSInn a few days ago. Hello everyone, Just to put you into context, here's my situation: I have been flight simming for a very long time using X-Plane. Near the end of 2009 though, I discovered some aircraft sytems were better modeled in FS9 for certain addon aircraft and decided to try it. Since then, I have been flying FS9 on VATSIM and I really love the experience. I have uninstalled and re installed FSX plus acceleration multiple times over the last couple years and I eventually run into the same problem everytime. A CTD. There has to be a fix to this! I have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I have multiple add ons. LDS 767, PMDG 747,737, airbus X, VRS superbug, carenado bonanza, real air turbine duke, ERJ v2 and then some sceneries: flytampa las vegas, chicago o hare, dallas fortworth, kennedy, tampa, and flight beam san francisco. Hi guys, This evening I tried to start up FSX Acceleration: I got the 'beginning screen', the music starts but then it automatically shuts down. It doesn't give an error or something: It just shuts down. Yesterday I just played FSX without having any problems, is there a way to fix this problem without installing it again? Hi Folks I'm having some weird problems with my 2 year old system since I installed the BN-2 Islander and Quest Kodiak payware aircraft. What happens with the Islander is that sometimes when I change views (outside to VC or back again or other view changes), or from map view back to VC, or even when I change the date/time or location - my display becomes corrupted in a variety of ways. One way is that it looks as if the computer didn't fully redraw the display and I have to restart FSX. G'day guys, I recently just got a new PC (specs in my sig) and i'm having a horrid time with FSX. When I load into the plane the camera view is out of whack.. I think the first view is virtual cockpit?? well it is showing virtual cockpit as being just outside the plane! When i scroll through the views they dont match up at all and when I go to the locked view and hit "A" to have the camera pan across the plane it is really jumpy and jittery. I had to reinstall it I took it out through add &remove that didn't work,so I had to take it out manually If john IS STILL on he was helping me with another problem that escallated into this disaster. So, i've been battleing this issue for about 2 months now. I have SEARCHED the internet for solutions. NONE have fixed the issue. What is included with the control is software that is talored ONLY for Windows XP 32BIT. NOT 64 NOR Windows 7 for that matter. Now, lets be clear on what the issue is. The control works. I have a new windows 8 computer (asus g75v ) for gaming, and NVidia gtx 670m graphics. I installed fsx gold and when I am into a minute into the game a message comes up "Microsoft flight simulator has stopped working" this program has found a problem. it gives me a prompt to close down the program to the desktop. Is there a fix or at least a workaround so I can play this game in the windows 8 enviorment? any help for this newbie would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yesterday I purchased and dowloaded the Captain Sim C-130, When I started FSX it goes to initialization with no problem but when the FSX welcome screen where we change aircrafts, weather and time the FSX shuts down...I will hate to re install FSX. Hello, I recently formatted my PC and did some upgrades, however advised me to install Win7 x64 but now I'm having problems with FSX.
