Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

CTD's are a simmer's nightmare. This subforum is established to specifically discuss CTD's. Please do not place CTD messages in the main FSX, FS9, or P3D forums. If you do, they will most likely be moved to this forum.

Hi there, I am posting here today, as I have been having this annoying problem with the Carenado C90B aircraft. It crashes FSX after about 90 minutes, and if I lower my settings, I have a CTD after just a few minutes. My system is a Windows 7 -64, Core duo E8400 overclocked @ 4.0, stable, after quite a few Prime95 hours, stressing both cores, 4 GB RAM, Nvidia GT8800. I have also installed UTX, GEX, Experience X for lights, REX and Opus for the weather. Below is the error message I keep having after the crash, as reported by Windows Event Viewer. By the way, I was having CTD problems with the Wilco Boeing, Pilot in Command, when FSX would crash after a little over an h…

/// Never mind, I found out the cause of this crash which seems to be local one. Basically FSDreamteam Hawaiian airports and Mytraffic 5.4 seem to be conflicting somehow. Basically what I did to find this out after I found someone else having same kind of problem before: I loaded default Cessna 172 at Honolulu airport at exactly 7:50AM and moved it a couple of times to Hawaii Big Island using map. Whenever I did this with traffic enabled I got this crash at "loading air, land and sea traffic". With traffic disabled no problem. For now I'm going to do my Hawaii flights without AI at all, I might start looking for a better solution later. …

  9. Hi, Ever heard of a CTD with no warning or dialog at all? I was just flying in my local area (as I often do) using the NGX, and then I got a CTD without any warning. GPU usage was normal, VRAM was also normal. I didn't have time to check the RAM usage but I'm guessing it was normal, I have never had an OOM issue on this PC (yet). The only thing I can think off that was different from my usual flying is that I had the AI traffic (airline) turned up way high. I never use AI traffic, but I wanted to play around with TCAS on different aircraft, so I had it up to 90%. The sim wasn't really lagging or stuttering though, so I don't think it's related... I only use de…

Hi guys. I'm looking for advice on preventing FSX sp2 CTD. I recently 'upgraded' my machine, and now I can't fly for more than an hour or so before getting an CTD. It isn't area or aircraft specific. I've enabled HIGHMEMFIX, and set up a nice large page file, but that made no difference. I've append dxdiag info, and AppCrashView report. Any advice welcome. ------------------ System Information ------------------ Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 (7601.win7sp1_gdr.120830-0333) Language: English (Regional Setting: English) System Manufacturer: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Hi! This started on 22nd of January, but I found out about it yesterday when i looked through my Event Viewer. After every FSX exit my log shows what i have copied in below. This text is from AppCrashView. I started to pin down the problem yesterday. I think it is my ASE_Data module which causes problems to me, because if i only have that activated in my dll.xml (No exe.xml active) my flightsim get`s that issue after exit. I have had some ASEdata.dll_unloaded after my sim has shut down, but never an unknown Stackhash. If i run every addon i have in the xml file without the ASE_Data i have no message after shutdown. Sooo that makes me think that it must be an issue…

  15. Scenario. Aircraft QW BA146. Installed in P3d and FSX. P3d install works great. Fsx install has a fatal error CTD upon selecting any of the 3 versions. Any other aircraft work fine. Appcrashview reports it as the qw146.gau file as at fault. Recent tries yielded that fsui.dll is at fault as well. Things Ive done in attempts to try and solve it. Uninstall and remove all remnants of the 146 and cleaned the registry of it with ccleaner. Reinstalled.Once as administrator. Redownloaded fresh install file with another browser. Redownloaded new license key Avscanner is already set to ignore FSX root and sub dirs. Avscanner disabled on installs. Brand new…

  16. My friend recently installed a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on my laptop. It worked with my FSX great until yesterday. I started FSX as usual and even before it reaches the splash screen, the game crashes. It states that, "Flight Simulator was unable to load some program files and will now exit. Please reinstall Flight Simulator to restore or repair the program installation." So I reinstalled my FSX (FSX + Acceleration) and it started up fine. But when I shut down the game and turned it on again, the same error happened again!!!  I repeatedly reinstalled FSX, but the same thing happens again and again. I've reinstalled it with all of my mods that worked befor…

Hi Everyone - Recently I've been getting a CTD caused by a util.dll crash only when flying the Carenado F33A and not until about 30 to 45 minutes into the flight. I've tried flying in different regions, and unistalling and re-installing the aircraft with no luck. I'm not really sure how to read this to figure out what is causing the crash, so I'd be grateful for any help I can get. Hi guys, I've started having a problem with FS9... After i takeoff it decides to just crash on me and say it encountered a problem, I may get to do a flight but then when i land it will crash again. I don't really have any addons i have UK2000 EGLL free version, and WOAI traffic, That is all i have. I am running windows 7 and i have followed all the tips for installing it on a windows 7 pc. I have had it running well for a few months and have no idea what has changed to make it start crashing like that. Really don't know what to do anymore. Really hope someone here might be able to shed some light on what i could do to fix it, Thank you!

  21. Hi, for some weeks now I have strange CTDs with FS2004 (german version) running in a WinXP environment. They are strange insofar, as there is no freezing, no CTD message. FS2004 just disappears from the desktop from one moment to the other. This occurs mostly at the very moment when I choose a saved flight from the "Flüge" (Flights) menü, sometimes already when clicking on the menu bar. It does not occur from within the simulation while flying, only when moving within the flights menu. The problem occurs particularly since I use HJG 727-100 (HJG uses the Vistaliner 727 model), especially with Condor and Germania repaints, at multiple locations; for instance after a f…
