Ok heres my issue, when I use PMDG stuff NGX or J41 I always get a CTD caused by d3d9.dlln when I try to change planes,airports, file a flt plan even exiting fsx basicly anything that requires a menu to come up I get a ctd but this only happens after about 15 min of being in sim. I searched but cant find anything really like my issue. Is this because I'm running ENB which makes no sense because it works with other heavyload planes like Carenado and Captsim 777 fine but PMDG stuff causes a CTD everytime. Thanks David

Yesterday, I had the very first CTD in the middle of a flight since I got my new PC 3 months ago. Usually I do 2-3 hrs flights across Europe in addons like NGX, BBS Airbus, PMDG MD-11, etc. Yesterday, I flew from LSGS to LSZG in the RA Legacy, over the Switzerland Pro X scenery. I was already something like 20 minutes into this flight, when the sim crashed. The log said, that the app crash has been caused by the ntdll.dll. I should mention, that I did some pattern work in the Milviz F86 at LSGS before. I did not end FSX after that, but just the flight. Im running a GTX480 and Windows 7 64bit on a widescreen 21 inch monitor. Out of the blue i have been unable to even start FSX. When i press the icon it changes the screen resolution to the minumum possible and states that i need to change it above 1080 x ?. But i cant change it because the windows are so massive. if I right click on the desktop and change the resolution back to 1980x1020 (or whatever it is), it just goes back to normal resolution and the game doesnt start. Any ideas?

Hi all, I tried the demo on my new windows 8 laptop and it worked, so I went out and bought FSX (with acceleration pack). However after installing the sim I click on the exe (in administrator, in WIN XP compatability) and I can't even get to the main menu. Same thing happens to the demo now too...! I click on the EXE the registration screen/splash screen appears, hard disc starts reading and then i get a CTD :( I appreciate there are lots of topics (and I will keep trawling and trying) so apologies for posting - I thought Id post my error log to see if anyone has any idea/can give me a starting point as to where my system is falling down:

I've had a couple of years trouble free running FSX on my current PC in Win 7. I've now done a clean install of Win 8 - all drives formatted - and have installed FSX and the service packs - no other addons. The problem is that FSX hangs when I try to save a .cfg file or flight plan. Sometimes, even Task Manager hangs when trying to stop the application. I've only tried a few short flights and apart from one uiautomationcore.dll crash it seems OK otherwise. FSX is installed on a separate drive. I've tried various compatibility settings but no change. I've read numerous posts in various forums saying FSX runs well in WIn 8. Any ideas?

I am having a recurring CTD. It originally only happened with the PMDG NGX. I was flying it form KMCO to KBWI and it would always crash enroute. I flew the route over and over to try to see a pattern. The only one I saw was that it would happen in the same general area but not at the same place each time. Finally after one crash my FSX.CFG seemed to reset. The tweaks I made recommended in the NGX manual were gone and all the graphics and controller settings were reset in FSX. I reset everything to the way I had it before and the crashed stopped for a while. When they came back I just created a new FSX.CFG and was back to normal again. Why can't I make FSX Gold run in my new Win8 64 bit Pro rig? I never had CTDs in win7, then migrated to win8 and DCS World, FlightGear2.10 and even the 7yo SilentWIngs run perfectly there. Last weekend I tried to install and run FSX Gold (from GFWL) but, even after applying Word Not Allowed's tweaks, FSUIPC latest version, FSX gave me a crash on each session, allways with the same "the program has stopped working..." I eventually gave up, but I would like to ear from someone with experience on this sort of problem... Ah! FSX was installed into a non-system folder (under C:\SimDir\ in my case)... I have W8 with a SandyBridge processor, 8 GB of memory and a Nvidia 1 GB graphics card- From time to time I get BSOD when flying in FSX. It is independent of the aircraft used and I get the error 0X0000001E. I looked at this error but couldn't find anything useful. I did find a few programs such as SpeedyPCPro or PC Helper 360 or ErrorEND_Pro that claim will fix this problem. Does anyone used any of these programs before? Can someone give some suggestions on possible causes/cures of this BSOD? Thanks

When I change an airport FSX starts up aircraft end of runway pointed into the wind,but it is 400 feet off the ground.I have looked inside red light flashing pause you un-pause you sometimes pulled out sometimes you do not,or if your on a runway go forward two feet and crash the plane is on fire.Do not have any idea what to do. I have take out all saved flights.Have one default flight it loads ok for it.Any ideas????

Hi, Not quite a CTD, but I hope someone can help with my problem. FSX works perfectly, but after exiting the program, I now get a message box informing me that fsx has stopped working. The problem details give the event name as APPCRASH, and the applicable file is fsx.exe. Additional information gives 0a9e whatever that is. There is an ooption for Microsoft to fix the problem, but when selecting this there is no improvement. As I say, this doesn't stop the simulator from working, bit it's annoying getting this message every time I close the program. Any ideas as to a cure ? All help would be appreciated. Kerrydancer

So I have read quite a few topics on this, but can't seem to narrow it down as to what is causing this for me. I do run quite a bit of scenery, but I have a fairly good system that honestly should be able to handle it without any issues. I think the last straw was I had just landed today into LAX after a successful flight with VAFS and it crashed on my and I think I am going to have to do the flight over again. I attached a copy of my FSX.cfg. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help. Nick
