Crash To Desktop (CTD) Forum

I took the plunge and purchased the PMDG 737 ngx addon. I installed it and the plane shows up in the flight plan screen. However, when I select it the box pops up for the registration code. I enter the code and then the computer goes to a blue screen and then crashes and reboots. It has happened every single time. I am running windows 7. Any idea how to get this to run?

Hello, I'm having this weird FSpassenger problem where whenever a cabin service is performed, FSX will CTD, throwing BEX error according to appcrashview. Initially I thought it has something to do with the mini panel and the buttons, so I switched to automatic service, and exact same thing happened. After a minute or so after cabin service, FSX will crash. I have tried a flight without service, and sure enough, it did not crash. Pretty sure it's not the menu crash, since flying without fsp or service it does not crash, period. and i do have the uiautomation.dll fix applied. Tried reinstall, nothing. I was able to get FSUIPC working in FSX after being unable to the past few days. Although FSX loads correctly with FSUIPC installed-upon entering the 'Main FSX Menu' FSX just freezes and doesn't respond to any of my actions. Here is the report from AppCrash... Hello gents. I am getting the blue screen of death on start up - BAD_POOL_HEADER 0x00000019 As I am absolutely no computer expert, I am strugling to see what is going on. I have tried to google to find a solution, but to no avail. The computer, a Dell Aurora R4, win7 64, starts up in safe mode ok. After I use restore, it boots up fine. Hi guys. I'm really bewildered here. Two days ago I had a fine running FSX (T1). I then installed Ideal FLight Demo, and played around with it for an entire day - letting it start FSX with a generated .FLT file and some times I would start FSX my self - no problems. Came home this afternoon, and right away installed the Reality XP wx500 for FSX. Then I installed the most recent update for Fs2Crew JS4100 voice edition. I then Uninstalled the Ideal Flight Demo. Ok, not a good day in my house. My flightsim rig crashed to a blue dump screen now it freezes at the win7 start up screen. It wont boot in safe mode either. It hangs on the win7 startup page then gives me a Boot disc error. Startup repair fails as does system restore. Ive tried unplugging everything and cleaning etc but no joy. I really dont want to have to reinstall everything as its taken years of tweaking to get a good setup. ANY suggestions welcome. Thanks Alan

I had recently installed SweetFX 1.4, and I think it may be behind some new CTDs I have been getting in the past 2 days. I would be in the sim after about an hour or so in full screen, but when I change from full screen to windowed mode, to work with some other apps in the background, and I hit the maximize window button on FSX, I get a CTD without any error messages. The session just exits out without a trace! I have seen this a few other times lately, when I would toggle the minimize/maximize button, and FSX goes Copperfield on me and just disappears. I have an annoying phenomenon with my quite fresh installation of FSX on my new PC: When I boot up FSX, it asks me wether to load the FS Force dll's or not (I set that up in the FS Force options, because sometimes I use a non force feedback yoke), and thereafter it can happen, that the sim crashes to desktop immediately, without any error message. That happens not too often. More often, it happens, that the main menu of FSX shows up, the plane in the preview screen rotates for 2 or 3 seconds, stops and then the simulator crashes to desktop with various error messages. Hello people, my problem is, that FSX hangs itself up. This was offline, using the NGX over England. I could see hear the sounds, and the cockpit etc was still there, but nothing moved etc. I hope someone has a solution for this. Thanks in advance. I had been using the PMDG NGX with TrackIR 5, FS2Crew, Radar Contact, and GSX with no problems for a long time. Then one day, during the preflight portion of the flight where the FO is do his cockpit setup routine, FSX crashed with the message "FSX has stopped working." The Faulting Module was MSVCR80.dll. Initially I chalked it up to just a random FSX crash. But then it kept occurring, at the exact same point in the flight. Almost always the Faulting Module was MSVCR80.dll. For the last couple months when I open FSX I've been having more and more frequent hanging issues. Sometimes I never got past the opening screen, sometimes after clicking an aircraft, and sometimes after entering a saved flight. Then I had to use Task Manager to escape the froze program. So I started the troubleshooting. After unplugging hardware one by one with no results I thought I would change my opening saved flight to a basic airstrip and default aircraft C172 and for the last week I've had no issues. I used to be able to run missions, CV69-12, T-45C Goshawk Carrier, CarrierOpsfsxf18. Now when I run the missions, it loads, my screen goes black, and I get CTD simscheduler.dll. I can run aicarriers and land on the USS Nimetz, etc. Also, missions that use the default FSX carrier work fine. Anybody have any ideas. I can not think of what could have changed to start causing this. Any help would be appreciated. Bill

Just installed FSX on a new Windows 7 machine, and we've run into quite a problem. Whenever we run 'Kiosk Mode', FSX will crash after about a minute of flight time, and display the "A fatal error has occurred" message box. FSX seems to run just fine by itself - no crashes so far. We've placed a new "UIAutomationCore.dll" file in the FSX folder, and we've tried compatibility mode - no luck so far. I've attached the error that shows up in the application log: Any thoughts?

Out of the blue, twice, today, I had a complete shut-down and re-start when all I was doing was using surfing here at Avsim. Yesterday, I had another seizure with all the graphics showing a pattern of little square boxes all linearly lined up as per attached image. Previously when this happened, it unfroze after a couple of minutes, but this time it remained firmly locked-up. No amount of Ctrl-Alt-Del would unlock, so had to re-boot. The card is an MSI GTX560Ti which I bought in the USA and as I'm flying to Vegas on Friday, hope to get it RMA'd there. I have had FSX for a long time. But there is still a few things that annoy me. For ex. at schiphol airport Amsterdam. There is this black stripe that comes from a building east of schiphol. It goes trough every object. I have tried to completely remove and reinstall fsx but it didnt work. I thought maybe my cd was broken or had a broken file so I downloaded a cd thing from the internet and I still had the same problem. I have the same at St. Maarten Princess Juliana Int. There is a building there to that has a black stripe going straight trough my screen. When I'm in FSX and all loaded, and I click on my addon tab, and try to activate ACCUFEEL or DISCOVER or any addon, FSX crashes for me when using REX Essential Plus. Doesn't happen with ASE. Have any of you noticed this? I love REX weather now, and it's unfortunate that this is happening. Is it my system or does it happen to you too? Stan

I start up FSX (Gold Edition) and if I choose Flight Lessons in the Learning Center, it works great, no problems, but when I go to choose Free Flight, It loads up (paused) and then when I play it, it crashes and says "A Fatal Error Occurred". Searched back about 23 pages and saw no mention of this one. For some reason FSX is not loading after running flawlessly for 2 months. Previous to this, I had the same problem and it ended with a total reinstall which I am trying to avoid agn if possible. The scenario is this; I double click FSX and get the opening screen and after 3 seconds the opening screen disappears and FSX stops loading. I can double click again and the same thing happens. Hi there, I've recently bought a ASUS notebook with WIndows 8 64bit. My graphics card is Nvidia GEFORCE GT 650M, CPU Intel Core 17 2.4Hz, 8GB or Memory, DirectX11. I basically bought this notebook to run FSX and add-on aircraft mainly PMDG. Well FSX and my notebook don't seem to agree, after maybe a couple of minutes, FSX will stop working, I will still hear the sounds coming from FSX but the screen will be blank. After a month of fighting constant FSX crashes I went ahead and uninstalled per the PMDG uninstall guide and then reinstalled per the AVSIM guide. I never had these problems on my old machine with XP on it but decided to upgrade because my CPU cooler fan died and I couldn't keep my overclock with the stock fan. I had a I7 920 overclocked to around 3.9 on a EVGA X58 board and it ran great and was as solid as a rock. My new build is a I5 3570 overclocked to 4.4 on a ASRock Extreme 6 board with 8gb GSkill 8-8-8-24 1.5v memory. My first crash after the FSX reinstall was the g3d.dll variety.
