After much debate I decided to try VOXATC 6.05 and here's my first impression: But, first here's what I needed in a ATC, am sure just like everybody that's looking for an ATC add on...it has to be as real as it gets. I was/am using PilotEdge and for the most part it's really great. The major downside is lack of traffic (radio chatter) and lack of coverage. So that's why I needed something world wide. So my choices: PilotEdge, Radio Contact 4.x(was really leaning towards this until I heard version 5 was being delayed), PFE (cannot recall what it stands for) and VOXATC. What i want from the atc addon is... * To give me, via voice or text a correct clearance delivery (including a SID) before i start my flight... something like: "Norshuttle 57Foxtrot cleared to London Heathrow via the Ars4G departure.." and so on... * Before the final waypoint on my flightplan give me a correct approach clearance (including a STAR) something like: "Cleared moxam4f arrival rwy 21" * Handle the AI-trafic of my choice... so that it actually "interacts with the AI-trafic that is flying around in the world... * Handle real world routes with airway…

Hi Ive been reading through this forum for an alternate to RC 4 which im displeased about spending my money. Its very inconsistent and unrealistic as far as im concerned. I was handed off to 5 center controllers in a span of 7 min. Stupid. Not to mention the lack of sids and stars. So now im considering VoxAtc. But yikes the cost is outrageous. Are all these issues im reading about on here and oddball idiosyncrasies justify the large cost? RC4 seems dead there is no development from what I can tell and RC5 has been talked about for so long with nothing. I cant seem to find anything about VoxAtc future development and upgrades. I have been using Voxatcx 6.06 in P3D for sometime , it seem to be running well. For reasons other than Voxatc I now have to reload it and keep geting "error 1001". Not being very knowledgeable with softeware, I would appreciate any help. My setup is windows 7, 64 bit. Dave

I'm flying the PMDG 737. I normally do a full flight programming everything into FMC. I've noticed that Vox ATC will choose a random runway at the airport I fly into. Usually it isn't the one I've programmed into the FMC. I like to select the runway I will use to land so that I am not in a mad rush towards the end of the flight to change all of my settings that I've prepared in the aircraft for the runway I've selected when VOX ATC vectors me to a different runway. Is there a way to select the runway and STAR you want to land on in VOX ATC. Also, I'm having problems with VOX ATC not speaking to me towards the landing stage. Hi all, this is my first post and i know this question has been asked around alot but there has been no definate ansews for my needs. First of all I use ultimate traffic 2 and world of ai and i was wondering if they could both be used in VOXATC 6 UK. I know ut2 can be transfered with the special 'bridge' but what about woai? Secondly are the skies still quite empty doing this because almost every comment about voxatc say the airports are ok however the skies are practically dead!! Is the traffic realistic i know they follow sids and stars but i mean you dont suddenly get 20 planes at once trying to peform a (perfect ?) landing everytime? Do planes hold at different holdin…

Hi All, I have VoxATC installed for FSX. Is it possible to use it with P3D? Or do i have to re install if for P3D.

Hi guys, I have used Voxatc in FSX for a while and generally very happy with it. I am changeing over to P3D and have just reloaded it. It seems to perform well , with one exception. I put the initial vox panel in the default Baron 58. When I change aircraft fom the Mooney, it shows the installed panel in the Baron and connects as it should, the problem is ATC refers to the baron as "Mooney." It really is flustrating as evrthing else is great. Voxatc install is version 6.06 from a CD. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Dave

Hello, As much as I truly enjoy using VoxATC, I continue having an issue with getting extra liveries to work. The indexer picks up the aircraft types, but the Aircraft Type Name Editor only picks up the first livery in each aircraft.cfg file, which translates to me not being able to get VoxATC to initialize in anything but that one version of each plane. I have several aircraft that come with tens of liveries, so it's frustrating being confined to using this great product with only one. Has anybody else experienced this and fixed it? Any help would be appreciated!

So I am in a Piper Warrior ready for departure initating contact with clearance on a VFR flightplan. Is it common procedure to request startup in such s small aircraft in the US as you need do in VoxATC, or is this just a small limitation in the program given most users probably fly the big irons? Also I see you can fly SID and STARS while IFR, does VoxATC also support GPS approaches with transition names and such or how do you guys set up your IFR GPS flight when using Reality XP GNS units? Hi Cant seem to find an answer to this only that people seem to be doing them. I am running the demo and set my aircraft at Seattle Boeing Field and start VoxATC. My aim is to take off KBFI and depart to a different airport under VFR without a flight plan. Everything works fine and I get the options for Radio check, patter or local flight. Selecting local flight I follow all instructions and depart the airport but the only option after departure is landing again at the same airport, I want to fly to another airport, contact them and land there without a flightplan. Must I file a flightplan to fly for airport A to B?, or is this a limitation perhaps in the de…

I have started to use the vox atc demo but I have encountered a problem... It works fine during atis, clearence, but as soon as i request taxi clearence the atc becomes quiet... It seems to freeze completely, after a while i managed to get further by reading in the box... but nothing was heard... Really annoying problem, anyone has a suggestion for this?:)

is there some way to turn this command off? it pops up regularly asking me to do a 360 deg turn and is way to boring, currently I just turn Voxatc of and enable it further down the track

I own RC4, PFE, and VOXATC. VOX is by far the most realistic for my money as it assigns you SIDS/STARS based on current weather conditions. I know PFE will do that, but it basically requires you to create a database or just pick your own on take-off and landing. My one big complaint with VOX is the way it handle traffic. I flew a flight from LAX last night and another from Heathrow this morning. In both cases, there was plenty of traffic at the gates but once I was airborne, there was little to no traffic in the surrounding airspace. Yes, you hear some chatter between ATC and traffic, but visually it's non existent. This is one area I'd like to see improved if/when there'…

I disabled AI (traffic x and orbx AI) I ran the indexer I ran the U2 bridge but that did nothing and dont know if it works with traffic x I set vox traffic to max I have gone from every Jetway being full at Brisbane and Sydney airport to absolutely not one single aircraft lol what am I doing wrong?

This is an intermittent issue but I installed the 7 day trial yesterday. I went through MS Speech recognition and the VOX flight planner trainer to setup the speech engine. The first issue I have is I talk to ATC something like this (making the phrases up, I know its not correct!) - ATC - 'ND151 Cleared to taxi, use taxiway Charlie, tune 121.5 upon reaching holding point' Me - 'Cleared blah um um ND151 right enough' ATC - 'Read back correct' Its a bit limiting as it doesn't prompt me if I read back the instructions incorrectly. Hi, Some time ago I installed v6.05 as an upgrade from the previous version. I don't recall but presume that I un-installed everything, including UK Enhancements. To the best of my recollection, all worked ok, meaning the voice training and all of that when one first installs. Have not use the application for some time and when I fired it again, notice the ATC sort of repeating words and instructions, like a bad record. I then decided to train the voice recognition by attempting to run the "VFR Flight Editor". Hi there, I have just re-installed all FSX stuff again, but can not get the PTT button on my Saitek proflight yoke to work with VOXAtc. When I go to joystick setup it shows saitek pro flight yoke as device but button 20 on both ' Assign press to talk' and 'Assign Prompt display toggle' and there is no way of changing it. No matter how often I try to assign, it keeps showing up with button 20. Is there a trick to it to change this?

When I try to import a FSX flight plan , Vox wont recognize the files. eg, When I try to assign a sid and point the Vox to the fsx folder it opens it blank. Anybody know what Im doing wrong?

Simple flight from EGCC to EGLL; HON 1R out of Manchester, BNN 1B into Heathrow. Flight plan at 9000 - never got cleared above 6000 (OK no big deal). At Bovingdon no contact from ATC. Did a quick hold pattern still no contact. Laid in an approximate vector to Rwy27R. Still no contact so i read somewhere that disabling and then re-enabling VOX can sort things out. Tried this and was immediatley told to contact Heathrow approach. Looking good I thought albeit a bit of a panic to land by now. Approach told me to do a 360° left turn (in stages) and still didn't line me up for the ILS. At this point gave up. Anyone any ideas why this happened. Don't think I did anything to tri…

Hi Guys, I've got UT2, and I've ran the UT2 bridge, re-indexed etc etc. However when I fly (VFR), I find these problems: 1. The skies are empty - above Sydney there was a Cessna and another GA only! 2. YSSY Sydney airport - NO heavies at all the gates when I was passing it, with UT2 this airport is positively bustling with A380s, Jumbos, 737, 767 etc. It was like a ghost town with VoxATC. 3. Aircraft are landing in the dirt before the runway I don't know what to do now, I was really impressed with being able to practice learning to speak to ATC for when I need to do it in PPL training. At some stage last year I downloaded the Demo but didn't get around to testing it. Im at the stage Im ready to buy VOTAX subject to a demo when downloaded it wants rego details as the time limit expired last year any way around this?

Hi Guys, There is very little information on this UK expansion pack I could find. I would have searched avsim forum but it doesn't allow the word "UK" I guess it's too small. What is actually in the UK pack? Also I'm wondering for an Australian environment is the UK pack more appropriate than the standard VoxATC? I don't have a pilots license yet so I don't really know the differences in the countries airspaces and ATC - but I'd like to get the most realistic for Australia to help me when I do go for my PPL. Is there any kind of roadmap for upcoming versions? I just completed my trial period and realized that that ist is still quite old. I don't want to buy now and had to Upgrade in the following month to the next Version...
