Hello all, after simming for a number of years I've decided to expand my horizons and try my hand at repainting. I've done my first repaint, which is a fictional livery of my charter business in FSE. After reading numerous tutorials and learning as I go I have come to a wall I cannot figure out.First off, I am using the Gimp ver 2.6. I have completed the repaint of my livery and all looks well in the program. However, when it comes to compiling the software I have seen numerous ways to do it and I'm not sure if this is the reason for my problem. Can paint shop pro be used for repaints?

As the subject says , I am having an issue with the CLS 747-200 paintkit .At certain view distances and angles the rivets on the paintkit seem to blur .This is an FS9 repaint , so no mips , and so far , no Alpha , but for the life of me I cannot figure why the rivets turn to smears at a certain distance .I am hoping it is a hardware issue as I am painting and more importantly testing the paint on quite an old laptop .Any how I know there are a lot of knowledgeable people in respect to repainting frequent this forum , and I am hoping one of you may have a clue as to my issues.I should add that this repaint is still at an early stage , so there are some obvious errors :( Th…

I've installed the HTAI 402C "Fantasy Flyer" into my FSX but noticed that it has a reflective skin covered with small stripes...Is this due to this A/C being a FS9 version and the texture possibly not being in 32bit?Is there anything I can do to try to fix this issue?Examples:Thanks!

Some of my AI A/C add-ons for FSX are FS9 versions and have the spinning prop solid black texture problems...I've fixed many with the free utility and online tutorial however, some of my AI A/C don't have/come with any "Prop_.bmp" type texture files.How do you Adjust/Fix these particular A/C to display spinning props correctly in FSX?Example:

Guys, I'm trying my hand at repainting aircraft and attempted to repaint some default aircraft. However, when trying to locate the .bmp files for said aircraft I noticed they were missing. I have Abacus repaint v2 but still can't seem to load the necessary files to alter the default aircraft. Can someone provide a link to a tutorial on how to repaint default aircraft.

Hi,Is there any way I can just change the paint scheme of the standard FS 2004 B777 aircraft? For example the standard Orbit B777 to look as British Airways B777. I actually downloaded BA B777 but it has totally differenty flying characteristics, cannot change the load e.t.c. So would like to have just a standard model with a different paint scheme.Many thanks

Hi, well I'm not a newbie when it comes to repaints but I'm not a master either, so I was wondering how we can create a (static) shine on the aircraft like FSX does it dynamicly, check this shot for example (it's my own repaint):as you can see FSX creates a dynamic shine on the plane which causes the top to be brighter and the bottom to be darker, this effect is widely used on the POSKY Embraer series (official repaints)so how can we add this (i guess as a separate layer) with Photoshop?

I am new to repainting aircraft. I have FS Repaint and have been doing some work with the Cessna 208B. Right now I am just using my mouse and finding it somewhat difficult to maintain any real control. I was wondering whether going to a digital pen and tablet would be a better approach. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,I'm attempting my first repaint and would like to try an Alaska Airlines Cargo repaint.Their corporate website has lots of colour samples and logo artwork etc and there are plenty of pictures of 737's around, although I'm thinking of a fictitious repaint of the Captain Sim 727-200 cargo. The one thing I can't seem to find is a good downloadable example of the Eskimo tail logo.Does anyone have one ?? or could someone give me some clues on how to create one from an actual photo. What I mean by that is I could cut the logo out of a photo etc, but it will always look and feel like a cut photo. If I have to go that way, can you help me with filters/changes etc to make…

I have been searching, but I can't find the template files for the engines. I'm busy with an Air Greenland A330-200 repaint for the Wilco model, and I need to do the engines. The engines have to be red with the Air Greenland logo on it, but I can't for the life of me find the correct templates. Anybody have any idea how/where to get them, or, of anybody has them, could they send it to me?Thanks in advance.

I am a new user to FS Repaint v2 using with fsx. I downloaded the latest ver 2.22 from Abacus and went thru the short tutorial using the help feature. My problem is that Abacus has no support and my copy doesn't seem to save my repaints. When I complete a project and Save then close up FS Repaint, the new texture is not showing up in the FSX selection screen. It is there in FS Repaint when I load it up again, but not in FSX. Any ideas, other than REINSTALL or REBOOT, I have already tried this. Is there an additional step to saving other than SAVE? Any help would be appreciated.RayMar
