Hi,right now i'm working on a 747 Frighter Livery... I painted the left fuselage, cut everything with the cut-template and fit everything perfectly (i hope so) in the 747400_Fuse_Layout_Template. After that i saved it in DDS5-format (another try was to save it in extended BMP) with DXTBmp. But i have this little space in my livery... Have someone a solution for that or can tell me where i made a mistake? By the way this space-failure only happens between the front and the middle section.Thx,Andy

There are repaints that are originally for FS2004, but I'd like to use in FSX. However, they have a weird problem where some parts are too dark, while other parts seem perfectly fine. Here's an example:Does anybody have the slightest idea what could cause this? (That's the PMDG747, for the record, with Yarden Ben D'or's El Al repaint)

Hi all,I have been dabbling in painting recently and having a ball. I have even figured out how to get reflections to work. I have only one issue that maybe you can help me with. When I load the aircraft with the new paint, the lettering is blurry until I zoom all the way in then zoom back out. After that it looks fine. If I return to the cockpit and then back to outside view, it gets blurry again. Could it be an artifact of my video card? It only does this on paint I have done, never on default aircraft. It's driving me crazy. My tools are MSPaint (Vista), DXTBmp to convert back and forth, and Photoshop Elements 6. I convert back to DXT3 format for reflections. What am I …

Don't use it for repainting (use PS8) but I've always used it for viewing the aircraft while I'm repainting it.Some of the aircraft I use fail to load up in FSRepaint and I get a message stating that 'FS Repaint cannot read or display this aircraft."I fly in FS9 and I've tried converting all the textures in a folder to DXT3, still no go and I've tried modifying the .cfg file to remove any FSX related sections and ...you guessed it...still no go.Anyone know what's causing these aircraft not to load in. They include Bill Ortiz's Quest Kodiak and Junkers W33/34 models as well as Top Fight Simulations Lockheed Air Express and some others I can't remember off the top of my hea…

hello..i 'm pretty newbie to everything related to airplane editing and all, but in the last few days i tried hard to solve the problem of white textures on planes while using dx10 preview but could not come up with anything..my question is, what sort of conversion must be done, to have those textures show up? i know theres a payware tool that does it on the fly, but i don't want to pay for it: i'd just like to convert 4 or 5 addon planes i loveto fly them under dx10 preview mode (on my system it gave me a real fps boost, and i dont want to get back to dx9).excuse me if this question has already been asked and answered, i made a few searches on the web and on this and oth…

For the last couple of days I have been painting the default 737 and I have a pretty good idea to get a general paint on the plane and put it into fsx and I noticed at night the 737's tail is nearly or is unreadable. If you don't look close it just looks white but if you look close enough you might be able to see the paint. So I just thought it was my painting but I noticed on the PMDG 747(which is my next project) that the logo light and landing light don't blur out the paint. Is there something wrong I am doing or is it just the aircraft and when paint the pmdg 747 it wont do that. Anyone else find out that it does it to other default aircraft?Taylor Oldham

Hi,Here is my first ever attempt at a FS repaint :-) Its of the Atlantic 737-300F at EGBE that carries race horse's around europe. It looks alright, but I had a dodgy picture that I used as a base, so the blue is lighter than I wanted it to be, but it isnt bad for a first attemptThats the real one, It highlights the fact that the blue is lighter than I wanted :-( It aint the photo I got the colour I used from, that was taken by a phone camera (probably explains alot)

I hope someone can help me with this. I've looked at all the freeware websites that I know that would have repaints for the American Airlines Flagship Liberty Repaint of the Default 737-800, and the American Airlines Flagship Freedom repaint of a Boeing 757-200.IF someone knows if these repaints exist, OR knows of someone who could do them for me, I would be very appreciative.SORRY RE-PAINT IS FOR FSX DEFAULT B737-800 THANKS! this is for a friend.

Hi all,Does anybody know where I might be able to find a British Mediterranean Airways aircraft (I think it was an Airbus A320-231) for FS9 in this livery: http://www.zap16.com/images/g-meda.jpgThanks :)

I am looking for information about how FSX deals with glass. I saw one recently, and now I can't find it. I have an FS9 aircraft that I want to use in FSX (JU-52 by Oliver Fischer), put the glass looks like its been left out in a year long dust storm without cleaning. Any suggestions as to where I might find information about how to fix this. Thanks.

Hello.I have had the privilege of being allowed to do a cockpit repaint for the Flight1/Coolsky Super80 Pro model and releasing it to the public.I am having problems with quality loss after repainting the textures in Paint shop Pro X2 even though the repaint looks awesome within PSP, it seem to lose the clarity somewhere along the way of again saving the images as DDS files. So here is a step by step explanation of how I normally do it, and see if you can find a better way of doing it.1. I open DXTbmp and select the file I want to repaint in the texture folder of the airplane.2. I save the file as a TGA file and save it in my temp folder.3. I edit the files in Paint shop a…

Hello, I am relatively new to repaints, and I am hoping that someone with more experience can help me out. I have been trying to repaint my PMDG Beech 1900 C. I downloaded the paint kit from the PMDG website. I am using the paint kit along with Paint Shop Pro and DXTBMP. I have followed the instruction included with the paint kit, and I have successfully imported my repaint into FSX. The problem I have is that the texture appears to be very shiny or glossy. So much so that the color of the repaint appears to be somewhat bleached, and the reflection from the sky turns the top of the aircraft light blue. I have spent hours trying different things to fix this prob…

Hi all. I'm new to the forums and new to FSX. For the last six years, I've been primarily a sim racer, painting cars for the Papyrus NASCAR Racing Season 2003 simulation. That's been a lot of fun. Very addicting but eventually, it got old. Until now, I didn't have a pc capable of running the FS series smoothly and I wasn't even sure that you could paint your own a/c in FSX. Then I came across this forum. Some great-looking paints in here! Somehow, I feel another addiction coming on. lol Here are a few aircraft-related car schemes/renders I've done. Hope it's ok to post these here.*EDIT* ALL IMAGES WELL OVER SIZE LIMIT

Hi there,Im managing my way through air hauler on fs9 and have come to the decision that I would like my own decals on my aircraft. I read a few forums and got the picture that it was as easy as flying so I surfed online and bought FS Repaint and downloaded paint.net and DXTBmp. I decided I would download the default DC-3 paint kit to start with since most my fleet is DC-3's. However now I'm stuck and find very limited tutorials for paint.net and fsrepaint. So please help regards :(

Hello!I am currently working on a Thomas Cook livery which I have done already once. But everytime I have worked on the tail I used photographs to create the tail and ironed a few things out and pasted a higher quality Thomas Cook logo. This time I want to use 'raw' material this time, namely creating those fading light and dark dots on the lower and upper side of the tail fin myself. Unfortunately I haven't found an effective and good way doing so with Photoshop CS3. I had the brush tool and paths on my mind to create one half of the dots (i.e. the dark ones) than mirrow it in order to create the light ones or so. I can't figure out an easy solution for the decreasing …

What I want is the following: to make a repaint the Surinam Airways 737-300 for the Wilco 737 PIC. The problem I found, is that I can't work at all with the Wilco 737-300 paintkit. I just don't manage to work with it. So, I have two options:1) Can somebody explain to me how to go about using it? Some tips would be very helpful, on how you go about doing repaints for the Wilco 737-300.2) Or, somebody does it for me. I'm quite sure somebody else would be able to make a better repaint of it than me. I can supply you with various photographs. From these two, I prefer 1), because it will allow me to understand how to use this paintkit, but any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Used Abacus' Repaint. Some artifacts I can't figure out like pink on the center post of the windshield and I could not get the lines aligned quite right at the nose. I have even more respect for real painters, now. Just this was very tedious and it is pretty simple.

Hi - I have a couple helicopters that I fly that have reflective windows and because of that I can't see the AI helicopters from the Heli Traffic 2009 program. Long story short, I've been told that if I change the Alpha texture for the windows to zero or if I paint them white and get full transperancy it should solve the problem. So I did a little research and found out I needed DXTbmp to open the textures and then an editor like photoshop to tweak the texture. I have photoshop 7.0 and I went and got DXTbmp. So last night I fired both programs up and I got the textures into photoshop and that was as far as I got. I did see the alpha channel, but I had no idea what to…
