i know this has been brought up before but the answers are confusing to me and so i thought i would ask for some clarification. I am using UT2 as my AI program along with WOAI strictly for FEDEX and UPS. i would like to be able to see those cargo carriers when using the DX10 preview in FSX but those cargo repaints are for FS9 only. what are the problems that repainters have in making repaints for DX10? Avsim always shows dozens of repaints for FS2004 and not so many for FSX but i dont see any repaints that are DX10 compatible. can a FEDEX or UPS repaint be done for a UT2 model that will work in DX10 like some of their commercial repaints do?thanks, kyle

Just getting started with fs repaint. Using the built-in paint program, when I paint a stripe I cant't get it to merge cleanly with the background. In other words it's ragged. I have a copy of PSP 7. Should I use that?Paul

I've been doing some repaints of the Carenado C172N and have run into the same problems as others have mentioned regarding text mirroring (there's only one fuselage texture sheet) and adding text/tail-numbers etc.I noticed on the 'Prop.bmp' texture sheet (picture below) there's an area marked "Repaint Aircraft ID Area." Does anyone know how to use this feature? If I edit the area and resave as a .bmp it has no effect on the model in the sim.If I edit the area and convert to .dds the tail number now appears on the (upper and lower) wing but the propeller now appears as a solid black disc when it's spinning.Has anyone managed to get the Aircraft Repaint ID Area to work prop…

Trying to find the HTAI paint kit for the payware Cessnas with no luck. Neither of the two layered kits available here are opening for me in GIMP. The one in .php format is missing. Hey does anyone know another place i can get a paint kit other than their website? I wont load for me, i have been trying for a few days now. Is it just me or is their whole website down? I cant access any area. I want to get their paint kit but i cant download it as the website is no longer working atm.

I am a beginner at repainting FSX aircrafts, but have been learning to use Paint.NET 3.5.4. I notice that the textures of my repaints are somewhat blur at close up after my edits. Is this related to how I save the texture files or something else?I use DXTBmp to open/save the texture files before/after editing using Paint.NET.

I'm finishing up an ANA repaint on a CaptainSim 767, and I'm having trouble with the textures of the wing. The bottom texture, cs767_5_T, only appears to repeat across both the left and right wing.What I want to do is have the Japan Red Sun on one side and the Registration number on the other. Same for for the Top, but I can't get the Red Sun to stay on one side. Only the registration number on the top will go to one side.I'm using the files cs767_5_T (bottom), cs767_4_T (Right Wing Top), and cs767_11_T (Left Wing Top). Any advice as to how to do what I'm trying to do?Thanks everyone. I'm trying to get this finished as soon as possible. :)

Does anybody know what is wrong with the paint. There is the blank patch on the fuse on both sides and also the engines are metallic on the back. Any ideas?

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone has painted them as I can't seem to find them anywhere.

What is the recomended Win Paint program for getting started repainting general aviation planes. I only have fsx and windows7. I have some limited paint experience using mostly photo designed paint programs - I can usually change the regristation number or color of existing stripes. No layers, masking experience.I would be most interested in a program that has a lot of existing users with some existing tutorials on the web. Any specific programs or versions to avoid? Any special deals or prices on certain versions? Is the absolute latest version necessary? Some easier to learn than others? etc.RayM

I am using Paint.Net to paint the aircraft registration beneath the left wing. However, there is only one set of wing textures file, hence, the registration appears under both wings.How can I configure the rego to appear under the left wing only?

Is there are a good tutorial that walks thru on how to use Gimp (or another freeware program) to edit FSX aircraft textures? I have read some of the documentation and tutorials on the Gimp website, but find them difficult to follow or do not explain very well for what I need.Specifically, I want to learn how to resize and move images on the fuselage and tail sections. I know how to first open the .bmp or .dds files using DXTBmp before sending the file to an image editor like Gimp, but am at a lost after this step ...In Gimp, I have managed to grow a selected image, but cannot fill the extra new space with the existing colour. I am also struggling to realign the colours…

Hi ,I'am trying to do my first repaint , this B773 from Turkey ( i can't put the link here , i don't know why , but you can go to JP ou Airliners and search for 777-300 Turkish ..) , and don't know how to do this kind of Grey flower in the fuselage...I tryed with magic wand tool , but i can't it went aliased , with squares in whole flower... The Veneaviones paint kit for their Citation 550 used to be available here on AVSIM, but is now one of the victims of the recent unpleasantness.Does anyone still have the paint kit ?I sure would appreciate if some one has it to share.Joe

ImageTool and the psd's need to be in the same folder. Saves in 32-bit w/alpha and no mips by default, you can change it to DXT3 by opening the .bat with Notepad and replacing "-32" with "-dxt3"Click me
