Dear Painters-Community,I am working on a set of German GA aircraft from the Berlin region for AI traffic. The German legislator requires an underwing-registration. It is mostly done in very simple letters. Due to certain restrictions, I am not allowed to post links to a well known database with aviation pictures, mainly airliners, but if you search for pictures of D-EEAPD-EDVGyou will see exactly what I mean.Can anyone recommend a suitable font that I could use which comes close to this lettering?Best regards,Holger

I'm trying to add a little darker shading to Thomas Ruth's A306 vc panel, but it shows up as a black texture. I'm saving it as a DDS DXT5, same as the original, and no alpha. My process is modification in Photoshop. Save as 24-bit BMP. Convert to DXT5 with DXTBmp. I'm an experienced painter but this has me stumped.Thanks for any help.

Why have I got a wing texture on one side of the fuselage?

How do I make the fuselage of a plane darker? I want to make it a little darker but i am not sure how to :D

I'm currently doing a paint job of the FSX Captain Sim 727-200 in Eastern Airlines livery. I'm using Gimp 2.6 as the paint program. I'm having trouble drawing the 2-colored stripe where it curves up into the tail underneath the tail at the rear end of the fuselage. Is there a way I can get the width of the 2 colors of the stripe symetric throughout the curve other than trying my best using the pen tool and doing it by eye? What I want to do is curve the 2-colored stripe after the stripe has been painted.

I have noticed that the only A319 and A320 repaints for United in the new colors all have an annoying error for the wilco vol.1 airbus series. The United logo should be before UNITED on the left side of the plane by the main pax entry door. On the repaint for the A319 and the A320, the logo is after UNITED, and if you go to airliners.net you can see this is incorrect.Does anyone know:A - If there is a repaint out there that is correct that I just cannot find orB - If there is an easy way to fix it. I tried playing around with it but I cannot get this to work at all do to my limited software on my computer.Thanks for your help!!Kevin

Heya people,I have been repainting for some time now, but most of the stuff I've done usually had straight lines. Not all, but most of them. I'm now doing a SLM livery for the Wilco 737-300, but I'm having a bit of trouble assessing the yellow/orange/red lines. Could you guys take a look at the picture (above) and my paint (below), and give any comments?It's the positioning of the lines I'm interested in, the colors are a bit dull too, which is dues to Wilco's paintkit. I may or may not change that, haven't decided yet...NOTE: SLM has two of these. The photograph you see below is of one of the planes before the actual painting was ready, and so it misses the flag of Suria…

I was just wondering: are there POSKY A330s that are painted in the "JetStar" Livery? I know it's an Australian airline, but I don't know which aircraft they fly. Is it the -200, or the -300? Hello Gents,Normally when I save a texture in DxtBmp, I leave the MipMaps unchecked. But this most recent time, it seems like the N number font has a certain edge to it that I don't like:I tried checking the option and here is what I got:It's tempting, based on these two pics, to conclude that with MipMaps checked, it looks better, but I've found that the rest of the textures tend to look blurry. :( What's the best way to do this for FSX? Is it possible I'm missing some other aspect? Btw, I use Paint Shop Pro for my texture manipulation and DxtBmp to convert them for the sim.

I know the model leaves a bit to be desired, but the real world is full of gorgeous repaints for her. Those who know me, know I am not exactly a "Tube" painter. Here's one I am currently working on - it still needs better bumps and a spec sheet or three. I'd say it's about 25% so far.OK, here we go: Oh... and don't say "Jaggies" - it's my card and DX10 and a 1920 x 1024 Monitor and I am not yet using UHD textures. These are 2048s reduced by DXTbmp. The Beaver will look a lot slicker once I have saved the textures as TGA and I reload in DX9.
