The team behind the real-world version of this have put their paperwork in for the Permit to Fly and I have been given permission to "...do go ahead and release your wonderful version of G-KLAW!"The livery is so new that I actually had it airborne before the real plane took off, and now all visitors to my website can help themselves to a copy. In fact, I ma well even upload this to the library...

  3. Started by Bob Familton,

I have several F-4 models in FSX that the cockpit glass is not visible. I am running SP1. I looked at the texture bmp's and have the UV bmp's but I have no idea at all as to what I have to do with the textures to make the glass visible. Can anyone please help me to get the glass visible on these planes? Someone told me it was because SP1 does not read the textures correctly. If I look at the models in FS Repaint the glass shows up OK. The planes are imports from FS9. Many other my FS9 imports do not have missing glass. Thanks, regards, Bob.

I'm writing to ask assistance. I'd appreciate hearing from someone who knows how the textures are mapped for Bill Lyons' FS9 Goose. The mapping scheme is quirky and difficult to sort out. There are areas that I'd like to modify, but, even after much effort, I can't identify. Also, If anyone has the model from the original windrifters payware release, I would appreciate a copy. I believe the mapping was changed from the original for the freeware release. My thanks.Michael Verlin

Hello all,I am trying to edit an existing paint into something slightly different and I am using paint.net to go about it. The paint textures are .dds files. My question is, how are these 2d drawings interpreted by FSX as 3d? What exactly is the process? I would like to understand the inner works of how FSX uses these .dds files.

I was pointed in the direction of this website by a fan and immediately fell in love with that multi directional flip-flop effect. So I just had to do it...She's readyHave a play and then compile your list of faults for meYou can find this download at the bottom of this page. This one was an interesting challenge to repaint for the sim. First of all, the real world one is a Pitts and there are now really suitable Pittses for FSX - YET. Secondly, the real livery is all flip-flop paints and really irridescent.(I know, I should also upload this to the Avsim Library, but ever since the hackattack, my backlog is almost three hundred paints to be checked and re-loaded. I've attempted myself on a repaint of the Wilco A340-600. Now, what I did was basically edit the bitmap in Photoshop, save a new textures folder and of course add that to the CFG. Now, what the problem is, which I can't work out, is that the bitmaps that I have edited, now appear to be a shiney metal colour on the aircraft rather than what I had intended. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,I am working on a new livery for my airline, and i am about to go nuts. The last piece i want to paint is the front wheel cover. I use DXTBmp to convert the original texture to bmp, edit with Photoshop and reconvert it with DXTBmp again to extended textures. But it never shows in FS. When I apply the same procedure to 737-700 instead of 777-800, i can paint the texture and it shows in FS. I also tried to copy the working texture from 737 and paste it to 738, but i was not successful. Please help me keep my sanity.

  17. Good day everyonefollowing the arrival of Alitalia's first new Airbus A330-200s, i have decided to design their livery for the Wilco "Airbus Series Vol2" model. The paint itself is complete, photoreal for as much as possible and including both exterior and interior. The problem is that a friend of mine reports a problem with the texture alignment between the mid and aft sections of the fusolage which doesn't show up when I run the livery in FS9. I have aligned the two sides differently for this purpose: the left side is the configuration that comes out aligned in my system and the right side is with the textures aligned as per paintkit. To him, they both are not aligned. …

I am currently working on a repaint for the PSS 777-300ER in the Singapore Airlines Livery. I have completed the right side of the aircraft (Hand Painted) as well as the vertical stab. I have exported them both to the PSS 777 template and it looks great! However, I don't know where to go from here! All of the files are .PSD and I don't know whether the left side of the aircraft needs to be mirrored or not. Help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, operateenI
