Hello....I have a FSX Super 80 Classic REPAINT that is NWA in the "bowling shoe" livery done by John Patterson. At "night", using MS FSX, when I put the logo light on the TAIL, the TAIL lights up as CONTINENTAL's LOGO instead of NWA....while the BODY of the aircraft remains in the NWA "bowling shoe" livery. Without the logo light "on" for the tail lighting, the tail is RED which is normal for this NWA livery. Why would this be happening and is there a "fix" available? The download file is: nea_oc.zip from the AVSIM library. Is there a modification to the aircraft.cfg file necessary? Please be advised that I am NOT a "paint designer"....just a novice "repainter". Hi all, I don't often show my paints here because most of you appear to be tube drivers, but if you like GA and even some of the default aircraft, well I have been busy painting recently. Here are a couple of slideshows of my recent work. All paints can be downloaded from the repaints section of my website. I have even started uploading some here on Avsim, now that the file library has been repaired.

I was just wondering how the experts, ok even the not so expert painters like myself, organize their work? Do you keep everything bunched up in one huge folder filled with everything you have ever amassed? Or do you tuck each titled paint away complete with resource pics, working .PSD's finished .BMP's and DDS's and finally the upload all in their own folder in one location?I have been busier than a beaver cleaning out files and folders in preparation to do a formal defrag on my working computer. Hi allIve been looking for the BA font 'mylius' but cant find it anywhere to download. I understand that it is copyrighted, however im sure some of you painters out there must have a copy. Hi all. I´m getting into making my own repaints. I´ve started by modifying existing ones and start from there..This is what I´ve done:I´ve opened the ones I want to mod with PSCS and painted them; Saved them as targa (32); Opened them with DXTBmp;Saved them (without mipmaps) as Extended BMP (Extended BMP 32 bit);But when I choose the aircraft in the aircraft selection in FS9, it is all gray... Hello, I am seeking a paint kit for the sim shed C130. Anyone know how i can get it?

I noticed that for the tail there are four files included: right_T, left_T, right_LT and left_LT. I was wondering how the two LT's should be different from the two T's. I have been looking at the texture.PW folder and saw that they seem to amount to the same thing as the two T's, which left me confused. Why would PMDG put two files that are the same except for the filename? I actually assume LT is for the night lighting or something of the kind, but then I don't understand why they are the same as the two T's. Can anybody explain me the difference and how they should be made different?

Leen,I have used Morgan Dainow's tutor which is your recommended tutor before, maybe a year or longer ago, I used it without problems.But now the site has many "pop-up" advertising (girls talking etc.) that covers the tutor text and then tutor's text cannot be read.The ads are very distracting when trying to learn how to paint.Also, some ads will not let you "escape" or close them and they LOCK up the PC forcing a reboot.Maybe this site needs re-evaluation as a true training aid?I have a screenshot of the problem ad that caused the PC to lock up and the problem site for your and AVSIM's management review.

I'm sure I should have found the answer by searching.......but I haven't.The Nvidia DDS viewer doesn't seem to work with Windows 7 64 bit and I'm finding not having it to be a bit of a pain now. So I wondered if anyone knows of a solution?Actually, the same problem occurs with PSD files as well.All suggestions greatfully received.

Hey guys,I have a slight problem here. The PMDG MD-11 has some decals around the cockpit windows that I do not know where they are. How do I remove them? See the screenshot. It's about the PMDG letters and such. They are not on the fuselage bit, for that is all white, so they must come from someplace else and be pasted "over" the white fuselage, but I do not know on what bitmap they are, and thus, what should be made white in order to remove these letters.

Hi guys,Today I downloaded a repaint wich was advertised to be a high definition paint for FSX.As I am always interested in high quality paints I am always curious to see.Ok ,the rivets painted on a 2048x2048 texture were just one pixel each and the over-all quality of the paint was fairly nice.Only the flag was hilaric.The painter* really has no idea how the American flag shows??(alltough he`s American, I think)Having the available space on a texture to do it right , making a flag with 598 stars???!!!Not being able to make a decent USA flag on normal res. paints( thats almost always impossible and nothing to be ashamed of) the painter did not even realise it is quiet po…

Hi everyone,I am a member of the Civil Air Patrol and an Aerospace Education Officer at a squadron located in South Carolina. As the AEO it's my job to teach the cadets about aviation and since I use FSX to do activities with them I am wondering if someone out there might be willing to do a repaint of the Carenado Cessna 172 and 182 or even the 182RG (preferably the 172 or 182 fixed gear)? Hi folks,I am trying to contact Sean Doran. He has dozens of repaints in the file library. A few years ago, he did a custom repaint of the Caarenado Mooney for FS2004 in the colors and tail number of my father's Mooney. I have been working on some repaints for Carenado's T 34 Mentor and at the moment busy with repaints of the Lima Lima Flight Team . As anyone who paints Carenado aircraft , knows , the " paintkits " are not full of detail and just a single layer .The Lima Lima team consists of several aircraft ( as far as I know 6 ) but I don't know which aircraft are " current " at the moment . So far I have painted LL10, LL20 , LL40 , LL50 , LL52 , LL53 , LL67 , LL99 and LL15 which originally just had the USAF markings . On the starboard side of the fuselage , there is the emergency release for the canopy but I can;t find any detailed photo's to be able to read what is printed . If anyo…

Hello all,I think the CS 767 windshield is very dark, as it dulls out the bloom that is happening outside. Can someone here alter the brightness of the CS767 windshield and send me the .dds file? Unfortunately, I looked through all the .dds files and was unable to find the one with the windshields. I am very computer illiterate, otherwise I would do this myself. I would really appreciate this folks. :-(
