Hi, I've tried both NVidias DDS tool as well as DXTBMP, however I'm always getting some kind of a chrome effect on the textures:I tried to play around with the alpha channel, however that doesn't some to have any effect on the texture, apart from that I tried allmost all formats I could find, but still - I'm getting the same result Anyone knows how I can configure the texture correctly?Interesting is, that I've also saved the wing textures, but they are shown correctly, but fuse, tail and engines have that strange effect :(

This paint kit is now available for download at FsPaintShop. Please keep in mind this is a “quick” release as the ATR 42 series is in high demand. I will improve these paint kits at a later date.

Recently started with a few repaints for Carenado's C152 and C172 . I have in the past made several repaints for Flight1's C172R and have never had any " serious " problems with it . Unfortunately , this is not the case with these two aircraft . As any painter knows , a one sided aircraft means having to omit any text or logo's on the nose or fuselage of any plane you wish to paint , because of " mirroring " . Ofcourse there are thousands of Cessna's flying around so there are plenty of choices . It just means that you have to look further than normal to find an aircraft that can be repainted .Here are a few screenshots of some Cessna's that " look like " the real aircraf…

G'day, I would like to try to repaint my RealAir Duke B-60, the piston model, not the turbo, but there is no paintkit available nor are blank textures provided. Is there a way to work around that? I can't seem to find anything that helps me, but I'm very new to repainting and don't know what to look for, really. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all. Cheers,Fritz

Hi.Wasnt sure which was the correct forum to add this.I`ve made a widescreen 2d panel for the Feelthere/Wilko A320.The day time panel resolution is not too distracting, but the night time ones are terrible. They look "blocky" as if the resolution has dropped. What is the correct proceedure to paint 8bit panels in photoshop? Thanks for the help. Eddie

  10. I received new photos of the original real world LifeFlight Eagle livery, and so it has prompted me to update my own repaint. Some of the new changes to the repaint is the addition of the arrow, cartoon characters, stars, and text to the underbelly, fuselage, nose, and fin. Here is a few screenshots of the additions. This is for FSX CERA Simaircraft Bell 222B payware.

  11. LifeFlight Eagle has a similar livery in these colors, but it's not a Bell 222. Never the less, this livery flying around my home town here in Kansas City. I still have a little more work to do on her, and then will release it soon.

  12. Era Alaska has several helicopters in their fleet, but the Bell 222B is not one of them. However, since this is FSX we can make that happen. I still have a few touch ups to do on her, but she is almost done and will release it soon.

My son is a graphic designer who uses a MAC. I'm trying to convince him to do a special paint job for me. He's never done any aircraft painting before. Does anyone know if it's possible to do a repaint on a MAC and then transfer to a PC?

I'm in the middle of doing my first repaint and i have a couple of problems i can't seem to solve. You can see from the screenshot that some parts of the aircraft are bright green, can someone tell me why this is happening or how i can get rid of it? The second issue is, when you look at the aircraft side on, it's nice and sharp looking, but when you look at an angle it starts to get blurred. I saved the image as an "extended bitmap" DXT3 ? Is this correct?

  15. Gentlemen,In all these years I've been doing repaints, I have always wondered how the alpha channel works, but never bothered to check it out, since I never used it. Today, I happen to be working on a texture for a scenery that needed to be modified. The original texture had the name of an airport sign painted in red. Lately, the sign of the airport name (El Salvador) changed from red to three stripes: blue, white & blue, the colors of its national flag. The original title of the sign had a black background, however, not knowing about the effects of the alpha channel, I saved the file as extended bitmap in DXT3. After opening the scenery to see my change, the black ba…

  16. When ESDG came out with this paint scheme, it was for the FS9 version, but they never brought it back for FSX 2.0. I got a request to recreate her in FSX, and so here she is. The registration number you see is personalized for the person who requested the scheme, but I'm also going to release the real world livery with the correct registration number.

  17. So far i have been downloading lots of repaints for my AI world and because i focus on the period 1980-1985 i have a few missing gaps with obscure airlines that were not painted before. So i thought i'd try my hand at doing a repaint of my own. I'm a total novice and some of the tutorials sound quite complicated so i thought i'd ask what would be a good choice to start with.My two questions are:Which paint program is the easiest for a beginner to use? paint.net photoshop etc...Which aircraft and paint kit are an easy one for a beginner to start with? Aardvark,EvolveAi,HTAI,DWAI etc etc.......I also tried to look for a video tutorial on youtube for painting AI aircraft but …

G'day, While attempting to do a repaint of the Carenado 185 floatplane, I have run into a impasse. On the fuselage towards the front, fairly low down, there is a small step, presmably fpr maintainence. I can not find the underside of that step. It has driven me right 'round the bend, frankly. Would someone be so kind as to point me towards the correct template, please? It would be very, very, much appreciated. Thanks up front. Cheers,Fritz

Hi there,I have a Greg Pepper CV 580 I would like to repaint with FS Repaint but I can't do it. I have a paintkit with .psd files, setting them in the texture, or trying to change the texture conversion from 32 bits to DTX5, and so on. The result is always the same, if I change the littlest detail, my thumnail goes upside down and stays there.Anybody can help? Thanks

Hi. I am just finished repainting the PMDG JS4100 into a fictional paint. The repaint looks good, but I just can not find a good tutorial on how to make a Specular of the repaint.I ended up just using the original that came with another repaint just to see how my repaint turned out in FSX.Of course every here and there the spec shines through from the original paint where it was taken from.By the way, here is the explaination that came with the repaint kit, but I can not seem to make sense of it:Quote begin:"Now creating your spec map for this texture is simple. Resize your newly pasted PMDG_J41_Fuselage_T_Clean (Dirty) map to 1024 x 1024 then fill this with black with Bl…

Hi, I have never re-painted an aircraft in my life, but I would like to batch convert the BMP files from a FS9 aircraft into DDS for use in FSX.I have tried DXTBmp, but that tool seems to only convert one file at a time (there are rather a lot to do) and DDS Converter, which doesn’t seem to work (I suspect it’s something to do with me!)Can anyone here suggest another program that I could try, or make any suggestions as to why DDS Converter is not working?Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Ian.

My apologies if this has been asked many times before (actually, I'm sure it has), but it's a quick question, so I figured I may as well ask. When doing repaints, do you typically use the paint/drawing tools in Photoshop or do you gather textures from photographs of the plane? Oh, I'm (obviously) just starting out with repaints, so if there's a really good tutorial I should follow, please just direct me there. Thanks,boeing247
