Abacus and there boring liveries. I have decided to repaint a 787 in Continental Colors. I think it is coming along nicely,but as you can see in the pictures, it is not finnished. It seems that there is not as much room as the other side which looks good. I would appriciate if someone could fix and finish the tail that is on the left side of the template. I have been away from repainting for quite some time now and am having a problem with DXTbmp in that I can't figure out how to save changes to the alpha channel. Specifically all I am trying to do is invert a white alpha to black and save it. I can save changes I have made to the main bitmap file but not the alpha channel. I have got to be missing something but I am not sure what. Every time I reopen the edited file, the alpha is the original white. I am using the latest version of DXTbmp (downloaded today) on Windows Vista Home Edition 64 bit and FSX Acceleration SP2. Thanks

Hi all. I've just purchased Carenado's new Piper PA-28RT-201. This aircraft is great! I was wondering if anyone could possibly do a repaint for me? It's of an aircraft operated by Tayside Aviation based at Dundee airport which is on the east coast of Scotland. I'll include some photographs of the aircraft. I dont think it should be very hard to repant this aeroplane as it has a basic colour scheme but a very nice one none the less. Any help guys will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi.. im new here n i didnt know where to start this topic so i posted it anywhere... and i'd really appreciate some of your help.Im sure all of you know the PMDG Paintkit where you can create your own aircraft texture...I created my texture and moved the texture folder into the PMDG aircraft of my wish... but i would really like help on how to configure the aircraft.cfg file in order for the texture to appear... because i try configuring it and my aircraft appears on the menu as usual.. but it is a blank texture...Can someone help me out, please? Hi,As the title says - please help out this painitng noob :( I receintly got nterested in painting as I was not afraid of the learning curve, read the SDk, some tutorials, etc. The problem is that most all of these documents demonstrate how to do it on a layered paintkit. Yet the helo I wanted to repaint to reflect a real world livery has no paintkit at all - still I know it could be done somehow as there are a few repaints circulating on the web. When I open the texture dds I get one unlayered texture sheet that has everything on it from the engines to the doors of the helo all through to the pilots face and I have no idea what to do with it. I just finished my first paint! It's very basic. I'd still like some input, though. I got the idea when I saw a C172 trainer for the IAF marked in a similar fashion. Anyway, I'm having a bit of a technical issue. Sometimes, on the right fuselage where the text is, the panel shows through as a darker color. It's certainly not darker when I paint it, though. ok...i can now paint ac and put them in folders to show up in fsx.But,when it comes to text on ac,left side is fine but right side text is backwards.I have tried several things to correct to no avail.Again...I am using Gimp 2.6.4 and DXTbmp...so any Topic Specific help is welcome.(i have read many tutorials,however,you might as well ask me to contimplate the universe!)thanks to any who have helped me this far!

Sorry if this post is in the wrong place since this is my first post. I was looking around for Frontier Airlines N810FR "Sheldon" and couldn't find it for FSX. Does anyone know where to find it or would it be possible for someone to make me a repaint of it? Since its first flight, in 2007, I been waiting for it but there was never one created. Thanks.

Greetings! I just started nosing around in and experimenting with some blank paintkits for my Carenado C152. What fun! Then I thought (first mistake), hey, why not see if I can eliminate that "grime" effect on the windscreen of one texture from my Carenado C172N Skyhawk II? While I appreciate the attempt at giving the plane a well-used look, I'd like the windscreen of the 50th Anniversary model to be clean.Anywho...I looked at the reflection file and it looks like an alpha channel. Can I modify that directly? As far as I can tell Carenado has not released a blank paintkit for this particular aircraft yet.Thanks!Dan

A simple search of it's N-number also shows a few other pics. If you could do this you would be a saint and a scholar.

I'm looking to do some repaints of the Eurowings A320. Their paint kit supplies the BMP files only. I have copied them into a single PSD file to paint the aircraft. However, the merged fuselage is a single layer. What is the best way to take this single layer and break it into multiple layers (i.e., windows, doors, details, etc.) in order to facilitate repainting.Thanks for your help!Pete in KORD

i am VERY new to aircraft repaints...so be patient with me!i have dxtbmp and gimp 2.6.4,along with fsx gold edition...i have downloaded CamSim's boeing 700 repaint kit and wish to use the tools that i have installed.i need an a to z course(using what i have)in how to paint and load the skin into fsx gold edition.i have tried several times,but the shell of the ac disappears and just shows interior of ac.just need the A to Z for what i have!please help! :(
