helloi used to paint a lot of aircraft in FS9. i have switched to FSX Acceleration Pack Sp2 recently and i tried to repaint a FSX model. I modified nothing else than the color of the texture and now the aircraft in FSX looks like it would have too much alpha. More, it looks like blank metal glossy.Any ideas on what this could be? Any tips on painting with PS FSX SP2 textures.The second problem i have is with trees from FS9 scenery. They have a black surrounding. I compared them with default FSX Sp2 textures they look identical from alpha channel and layout.Where is the problem?Thanks for helpMartin

Hi,I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to import a texture into FSPaint.I have the MAAM DC-3 paint kit that has the bare plane texture sets. In FSPaint I open/create a new version of one of the MAAM DC-3's. I click on texture tab and it brings up the texture tiles for that particular plane.Is there a way to copy/paste over those with the bare texture sets from the kit? I would rather start with a bare texture set instead of having to erase all the paint in the exiting set in FSPaint.I guess another way to do it would to create a bare plane version from the kit and install into MSFS, then open FSPaint and modify it, but I don't know how to do that?Any help would be …

There needs to be a better ifdg jetBlue a320 repaint. Ive tried to find a few but all the ones i found were messed up in some way, and unrealistic. It would be nice if someone could make a realistic ifdg jetBlue A320?

I've attached an image file of an aircraft repaint and the logo seems to blur. If I zoom in (+ key on FS9) then zoom back out, it's OK, but if I switch windows the same happens.Any help or ideas. BTW I am not the painter but the CEO of the airline. The painter doesn't seem to know why, and it's not happened on other aircraft he's painted but this is a new logoGary

Hey guys,I was wondering if someone might be able to help me. I'm Looking for the font used in the old Federal Express Logo(both in its diagonal and horizontal forms(although the latter would be preferred)which was designed by Richard Runyan in 1973, and was used until 1993? I've seen a couple of aircraft using this font and was thinking about doing one myself. I'm also wondering if anyone knows if the font used in the 'The World on Time' is Futura (I have a suspicion that it is) , and where it or a substitute might be available. Hi All.I was wondering if anyone had the skills to create a engine fan up-date for this wonderful bird.The PMDG Queen of the skies 747-400 and FI just don't have the required skills to be able to do this, otherwise I would and up-load it for all.I think that this aircraft is fantastic, and coupled with some brilliant re-paints that are available, I can't help but feel that a new and crisp and detailed engine fan up-grade would make this bird look even better if thats at all possible.I have grabbed some of the freeware Historic Jet Group aircraft recently, and was amazed at the detail the painter has gone into for the fan / blade textures on the KC135, they are mouthwateri…

I thought I'd go back to do a classic, here is what I have so far:This repaint is for the POSKY 747v4 series, I realize that it is supposed to be a -100B, so please don't point out that the model I am using right now isn't a -100B. Also, pay no attention to the Delta engines or right side fuselage ;) Still a bit to do, but coming along :)

Hi Folks.I have made some basic alterations to textures before, mainly just altering a/c numbers and airline lettering etc. However, this time after using the clone tool in PSP to 'cover up' lettering prior to repainting, the whole texture has disappeared in Flight Sim. The aircraft loads in what I assume is just the bare buff colour of the basic model. No textures at all. No panel lines, rivets etc.Does anyone have an idea what has happened? Is it possible that the original painter has incorporated some code to prevent repainting?I have saved my work by hitting the save button in PSP as normal.Regards...Ken

I have almsot completed my first ever repaint of a DHL 777-200f and all i need is to paint on a big cargo door towards the rear of the aircraft and some dirt around the main exit and other places. Hi, I just wanted to know how would you convert dx9 textures into dx10 format, so that it can be used in fsx dx10 mode. http://www.fszone.org/forums/FSX-DX-10-SP2...blem-t8946.html I followed this advice and converted the textures and still dx10 preview would not recognize them. This is my first painting attempt and i am using the overland 777-200 and their paintkit for a DHL 777. I paintied the fuselage and tail and left everything else as it was when i downloaded the paintkit. I edited the cfg and fsx recognises it but nothing shows up its jsut that screen where the plane spins but nothing being visible. All the testures were converted with photoshop cs3 into BMP format.Any help?Richy Gibson

Is there any qualitative difference between putting the painted areas over the rivets/panel lines and having them in multiply mode or putting the details on top and having that layer in multiply? I like to layer colors and cannot do that with color layers in multiply.Moggie? Leen? Anybody?Bill

Hi Folks,I'm concidering having a play to see if I can repaint a Realair Spitfire IX but looking at the repaint kit I have a couple of questions.In the repaint kit on the Spitfire IX there are no wheels in the RASSpitIX_Ext1_T.psd file although clearly on the same file in the texture folders they are there. Do I have to copy them from the XIV and if so how do I do that, I would be using Paint Shop Pro 7.Also I want a fresh repaint so would like to "correct" the faded roundels, I tried the replace function but it won't work so I presume the fade effects is done another way although it's not the opacity thats at 100 per cent.Any suggestions gratefully received.Thanks Ron

Hello there!I just started to repaint aircrafts (still on FS9, I hope to go to FSX soon). I already master some techniques, like painting eyebrowns, configuring and recolouring lightmaps, etc.But i think my windows are not that good yet, they just don't look like windows, they actually look like... painted BMPs. I try to add some effects over their colors (which i usually paint in blue) in Photoshop, but the result is still far behind the best.Can you help me on this, telling me how to make the windows look like real glass circles? But i don't want to use photoreal work, unless i don't have another option.Thanks.

Sorry, I'm teaching myself how to do repaints. Anyway, how to you take a logo, I'm using brands of the world, and import it to my paintscheme. I get it on my paintscheme but it seems like the quality is lost.
