Ok, I am very new to this so please bear with me. I am trying to learn how to do repaints. I'm using photoshop Cs2. I'm using the Dreamfleet baron paintkit, just to toy around and do some learning. So my question is, which layer do I actually do the painting? I know this is a stupid question but hey, I got to start somewhere. Thanks.

Found a paint kit for the Embraer 120 by Erick Cantu (e120pkpp.zip, found here at avsim.com). Sadly for me, it is written to Paint Shop Pro v.9.1. I only have version 8, and therefore I can't open the files.Are there other paint kits for the plane out there, or made a version for PSP 8.0? I haven't found any one yet.Regards Henrik

Hello everyone,Currently I am working on a one-off repaint for the Lear 45. Since I am building my own replica Lear45 cockpit, it would be nice to be able to use a livery that is a bit closer to home.I created a non Existant KLM "executive" livery, but I have some problems with textures "repeating" itself. In the attached Pictures you can see the dark blue bar being replicated a little lower than the original one, and also I cannot get the KLM/NorthWest Logo to appear correctly on the left side of the body. The right side of the body is OK. Furthermore there are som small issues that I can live with for now.Since this painting is not something I will be doing a lot, I use…

This is the repaint that I am trying to package. http://i134.photobucket.com/albums/q120/kbohme/GCS0027-1.jpgHere is my question:I would like to alter the aircraft.cfg file so that I can use the model and sound from another aircraft folder.I would like the installer to install this aircraft into its own directory, but instead of duplicating the model and sound subfolders I would just like the aircraft.cfg for this plane to be directed to the default fsx 747 folder and use its model and sounds...is this even possible ?Thanks in advance for any help :)

I've been made me first attempt at repainting this weekend, a Bcal 767-300ER (level D)I Now need to replicate a curve on the nose so another banding line follows it.Any pointers as to how to do this ?I generated a shape using the pencil tool for the first one.Thanks in advanceRoyston H

Greetings:I bought Flying Club X because it contained all of the planes that I flew when getting my pilot's license. I really like the package overall.I want to change the tail number on a couple of the planes. I've searched for posts on just changing tail numbers, but have come up empty, although there are a lot of great references on complicated re-paints.Any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.BTW, in Flying Club X, the font used for the stock tail numbers is exactly the same as the one used on the real plane that I flew. I'd like to copy that same font, but I'm concerned about getting it "right" using a freehand approach. I have both PSP and PhotoShop CS3…

I've been doing repaints for a while and have become lazy in my old age thanks the the mob at Adobe and Photoshop.Recently I've seen references to EvolveAI's enhanced V5 paint kits for their cracking A320s and A321s that (I assume) ape the killer V5 kits released for the A318 and A319.I've also seen a few repaints of the AI Aardvark 757 where the painter has recognised an enhanced paint kit for the biggest of the narrow-body Boeings (and one of Aardvark's earlier models).Finally I have seen words of thanks to Tony Fosler's enhanced paint kit for the FSPainter MD-11, and the big Mad Dog's a favourite of mine.The problem (for me) is that I haven't seen these paint kits arou…

I have almost finished my first repaint and I am working on the details. I have painted a PMDG 744-400F using the provided paint kit.I used the eyedropper to sample the color of the fuselage near the bottom, and then applied this color to the base color of the belly (on the externals sheet) and the nose hear door (on the layout sheet). When I view them in the simulator, they don't really match.Am I supposed to turn off all dirt, shadows and gradients on the fuselage before sampling the color? I did this for the engine color match (white) and they were too white. For the nose gear, I have the same problem with the color, but also the detail. The nose gear is just one s…

Hi.I would like to add/edit bump maps for aircrafts in FS X. So far, I has opened a image from the c172 folder in DXT. I have exported the alphachannel to Photoshop, and correct me if I am wrong, but I guess that the alphachannel is the bump map.
