Hi. I am new to this product and find it excellent so far. The only problem I found is with winds aloft. It seems that this program just ads velocity to surface winds as I climb. WE all know in real world wind velocity changes with altitude, not just the speed. Is there a specific setting to use on fsuipc or does it not really download winds aloft like the Jepp wx that comes with fs2002. I should note I took off from AMS in NW 747-400 as NW068 bound to BOM. Any help much appreciated and Happy New Year!

Hi all, I woukd like to send my question to Activesky technicians or everyone that can help me.In this season many, many, many places (north latitude!) report snow on metar, without cloud coverage indications (frequently in very short visibility cases). On flight simulator we don't see any snowflake because there are no cloud layer (where put snow condition). It's a pity that great software like this wrong FS weather setting! What do you suggest for this?I wish all a happy new year!Paolo

hi allwhen i use Active Sky wxre sometimes (not always and not because the program is downloading) the framerate drops down to 1.5 (before 20-30). maybe it has to do with the clouds (big black clouds). when i delete all weather settings it works fine, but only for a short time until Aktive Sky downloads the weather. this really does not happen always, only with special weather conditions.also i guess it's only happening when i use the FSVIPC settings like recomanded from Active Sky Autor.can someone help me?thank's a lotmarkus

Hi Damian Clark, First of all, I would like to thanks to your next generationweather ActiveSky wxRE. This program make me feel like make a real& dynamic weather in flight simulator. Now I can get a very smoothwind, clouds & rain change at cross country flight. Great job! Over here, I only need your help to figure out the turbulenceissue. I follow your document come with download to active the"add random turbulence at clouds" at FSUIPC 2.95 Then I start up active sky wxRE & flight simulator. I take a cross country flight with DF737-400, I notice a turbulence can cause a little bumping when is heavy DF737 pass thru' clouds & like real. But when I take…

This may have been reported already - if so - disregard ...When the destination weather locks, winds aloft are ignored in favor of surface winds. I'm using a weather lock distance of 60 miles and when 60 miles from destination I can easily be at 12000 ft and would expect winds to be as reported for that altitude. As an example: I was descending on approach to KATL with winds aloft (as reported by KATL) of 260 @ 52. Once I got within 60 miles the winds at 12000 ft changed to 290 @ 6 which were the surface winds reported at KATL.-michael

Just a question here for the AS team. Coming into CYYZ tonight from CYVR (long flight!), wxRE was giving me the correct wx (right up to date based on what Nav Canada also was showing). It gave me 1400 broken, 4000 overcast with a vis of 6 miles. That is what the flight watch (AS radio, if you will) gave me on 122.00, even after on the ground at Toronto. However, what I actually was displaying was a broken sky and much better than 6 miles vis. I was using live online wx at the time. I don't think this is a bug, just something I'm not understanding here (nor is this a complaint!). Could any member of the team tell me why things might have looked different in the sky …

Damian, I've had your product for about 2 weeks and I have to say that I've had very little problem with it. It's dramatically improved the flying environment, both visually and operationally, with practically zero effort on my part! I do have a question and a suggestion: I've noted that in a couple of instances ATIS reports a difference sometimes in barometric pressure. Almost always lower than what WXRE reports. This rarely happens but when it does, for example, ATIS will report 30.17 while WXRE reports 30.19. No matter how long I wait, this doesn't change. I've also noted that, while enroute, any ATIS I tune to will report the winds aloft instead of the winds on…

Hi Damian,I think I've uncovered a bit of a bug in wxRE here. It's happened on a couple of flights now, and this time is was very repeatable. I'm not sure I've narrowed it down entirely, but I'm working on it.The symptom is that the ground totally disappears and is replaced by a solid blue colour, as though one is flying over open water from horizon to horizon. Below is a pic showing what is happening:http://www3.sympatico.ca/g.davy/WXRE/wxRE01.jpgI took a screenshot of the Status screen once this started occurring:http://www3.sympatico.ca/g.davy/WXRE/wxRE02a.jpgOK, it seems to happen first after at least 1.5 hours in the air. I've not seen it happen while I've been b…

Hi All,I am running FS2K2 on a (desktop) networked setup which does not have internet access. I was wondering if it was possible to install WXrE on my laptop (which does have internet access) and automatically export the online weather updates to the FS2002 computer through the network? Can anyone walk me through the steps if this is possible? ThanksCary

After having used this for a week or so now, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. There are however 2 small items that I'm having difficulty with. I have been a FS Meteo user and these items have been available and used by me all the time.1. The ability to import a flight plan and get the winds aloft, particularly outside of the US. I use this information to fuel plan and it is difficult to get in Activesky.2. METAR Information. With both Activesky and FS Meteo I get the weather information from VATSIM aas I normally fly on line. In New Zealand under FS Meteo I get the weather reported from smaller location such as NZNP, NZDN, NZNS etc. Under Activsky I only appear to get the data…

Hi,I have been using this great program for a few days now and have a small request. As I live in Australia, I tend to do a lot of flying around my country. To that end, the winds aloft bear little resemblence to the real winds. Does, or is it possible if not, to simulate the Trade Winds etc. For example, in Australia, the winds from 10S to 50S generally tend to be westerlies with polar jets at the higher latitudes and subtropical jets at the lower latitudes. In my real life experiences, I have seen the upper winds vary between 230 and 340 degrees. Everytime I have flown with wxRE, the winds are the complete opposite to what I would normally expect???Am I doing someth…

hiho! bought wxRE yesterday and like it so far (didn't have much time yet to test). So far, there is just one issue I found: with wxRE running many of my AI airctaft lose their textures?!?! They turn black. However, the textures are only sort of suppressed because if I am in chase view und pan around my aircraft, then the AI textures show up from time to time. funny, um? It is defintely attributable to wxRE since this behaviour is gone as soon as I close wxRE. System: AMD 1700 XP, 512 MB DDR, ASUS A7V, Geforce4 MX 440, latest Detonator 41.x.CheersPhilCome to DAD!http://www.dangerous-airports.com/images/dad_logo.jpg
