I just got the program. I think I set everything up correctly, but maybe not. The long and short of it is that the weather that ActiveSky is reporting is not the weather I'm seeing in the sim. I've installed FSUIPC.DLL and copied over the FSUIPC.INI file that ActiveSky uses (I'm not using any other program that utilizes FSUIPC.DLL). FSUIPC.DLL is definitely installed, and available inside FS2002. ActiveSky has a connection to the internet (DSL) and downloads current weather and gives me realistic weather in its briefing. But that weather is not being "transferred" to the sim.Where I look next in troubleshooting this problem. TIA.-Basil

Hi all,The first time I used V1.1 I had a little problem. The screen turned to night and WxRE gave me the following message: Run-time error '6' Overflow. And then turned itself off.Since then everything seems to be fine. Any ideas what this means?Gavin

Hi Damian,I'm afraid I'm still getting different METARs in the ActiveSky UI and in the wx-export.met file with AS 1.1This appears to be related to the timezone setting of the computer.I live in Holland, so the time zone is GMT+1.In the ActiveSky interface, at 12:00 local time I get METAR for ~11:00(Z). But in the wx-export.met file, I get the METAR for ~10:00(Z), so weather in FS and in FSFlightMax won't match up (unless there's been no change for the past hour) Perhaps the UTC conversion is being done once for the first METAR request, and again for the FSFlightMax request?

Hi friends,no news at all!!!If we want download METARS within ActiveSky we still have to modify international settings and uncheck USE SYSTEM TIME FOR PROCESSING checkbox. To the author:*I have just downloaded a METAR (10:31 in Italy - 09:31Z) and file is called cicle00Z, maybe because FS2002 is not running? Now i launch FS2002 (FStime is 12:05 UTC) and again download a METAR...this time file is called cycle11Z; OK that should be yesteday METAR for 11Z.Right?*So i cannot check USE SYSTEM TIME FOR PROCESSING; i suppose i have to enter nothing in UTC HOUR FOR DOWNLOAD. Right?*Another question: can i rename METAR files before they are overwritten by same cycle?Z some days late…

Hi,We have identified a problem that still exists with Italian time format when attempting use of TAF processing and USE SYSTEM TIME.I believe I have fixed it, but would like to get some Italian users to test the new .exe before inclusion into the next update. Please e-mail me at with the subject ITALIANWXRE and I will send you a test .exe version (zipped). Your feedback and help on this is much appreciated!-Damian

Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyThe next-generation weather environment simulation for FS2002!http://hifi.avsim.net/activeskyhttp://h…

I am trying to purchase ActiveSky from the various web sites but upon entering the sites to enter the credit card data, my browser IE5.0 gives me no indication that the sites are secure. Is it my browser version or is there a problem with the purchase site security.

I noticed that I lose my ATC function after AS locks onto destination airport. When I press the (`) key, the atc menu pops up for few seconds then disappears altogether. Unable to contact approach or get weather.

Hi Damian,I'm using ActiveSky and am very impressed with it. Good work! I have one suggestion/request. I always wanted to see vapour trails in the MS flight sim, so I was really pleased to hear that they would be included in FS2002. However, I've only ever seen them from other traffic when I was over 30000 feet or so, and even then only when the traffic was very near. I'd like to see vapour trails from long distance and regardless of what altitiude I'm at - after all, I can see them from ground level in real life...Would it be possible to enhance vapour trails in a future version/update?Jon

Hi there I have started using WXRE for all my flights now (the ability to get the arrival wx enroute is a joy) and am very pleased with its performance. However, I do most of my flying in New Zealand and it seems to be severely lacking in weather stations for this country, a total of 5 weather stations by default, whereas tiny little Belgium (no offence!) gets a whopping 15.I live in Nelson (NZNS) and the nearest weather station in WXRE is always Wellington (NZWN)some 73 miles away. The weather is almost always different between these two places and I would like to be able to use the weather for NZNS. In order to try and fix this problem I have added NZNS to the ICAO.txt …

Hello:I'm using ActiveSky wxRE, and I noticed that, in Offline mode, after downloading a weather report using "Options - Auto download button", saving and returning to main menu, the program reports in Active Wx Station box wrongs places relative to me (for example: FOOL/566nm (3062 nm to dest.), and other so far stations. I also noticed that, typing in "Custom/Destination Weather" button my near Wx station (SBSP), the program reports "ID not found in offline METAR file".Please, what's going wrong?ThanksValter - Brazil
