The issue is hearing destination ATIS use current winds aloft for local winds and ATC vectoring one to a runway to match said winds. Someone recommended increasing the "force" setting to 100nm. I did and it didn't work. Is this a bug? I know some Radar Contact users are experiencing the same problem, but I'm not using Radar Contact. ActiveSky developers, are you aware of this as a bug, or is there any other thing that I can try to fix the issue? Dave Vega

Hi,I just would like to know if anyone else is experiencing the same problems like me.Three days ago I flew from Hamburg to Milano/Malpensa.In Hamburg a visibility of 350m was announced by ActivskyWXRE but when in the air I could see from FL150 down to the ground with no problems. It was only slightly foggy. When I approached LIMC a weather of 400m visibility was announced by AS but I could see the complete 8nm final to the runway?Anyone knows if I might misset some FSUIPC settings? I am pretty sure I set the time correctly in AS and FS!GreetzLars

When a METAR reports visibility as: M1SMit does not show in FS, e.g. unlimited visibility. When I do a custom write without the 'M' all is as expected.I can't find any reference to the leading 'M' but I assume it means "minimum", e.g. "Minimum visibility could be 1 SM.However, AS does not use it as such?METAR used was:KMAE 041452Z AUTO 00000KT M1/4SM FG VV001 04/04 A3022Any ideas?Gideon

Something weird happens:When I fly (full-screen or windowed)) in cockpit-view I have a limited visibility. Let's say 10SM.When I look to the left/right (using hat switch) I have unlimited visibility...when turning back to cockpit visibility goes back to METAR reported.Same happens when switching between Cockpit and Spot/Tower.It appears and disappears.I've seen the height related issues with fog, but this happens at all altitudes. All help appreciated!Specs:P4-2.4Ghz IntelXP ProGeForce4-2600756DDRNvidia 40.72DirectX 8.1FSUIPC 2.95 (tried 2.94, same effect)ASwxRE runs over WideFS 5.3FSAA is off, Nvidia AA is on 2x, rest is default.Gideon

Thanks for this - hope you enjoy my money as much as it looks like I'm going to enjoy the fruits of your hard word. OK, off to study now! Speak to you soon!Gavin

I've been using ActiveSky wxRE since it was released, and I love it! However everytime their is a low cloud layer it models it perfect on the ground, but once you climb through it all of a sudden you can see the ground. Will this be addressed in the update? Thanks,Wyatt

It's cloudy here and about to snow.Active sky is reporting clear skies?? The actual reporting station is 10 minutes from me. What gives.I have fsuipc 2.95 and have set it up according to the Active sky manual.Lets just assume that the airport here is reporting old weather. Isn't there backup reporting in place?

First - excellent program. I still miss the good ole freeware days, but this is worth the $15 for sure!Secondly, i would like an easier method for archiving weather data. The easiest way would be to prefix the downloads with a date and allow a user input "info" field to describe the data - like "december tornadoes south" or "xmas day snowstorm east". This could be included in the .wxd file as text and displayed when you click on an offline file set. (similar to GetWeather - www.bearsoft.de)Finally, it would be great if there was an option for the date and time in FS to automatically be set to the METAR date and time to properly synch the TAFs, etc. Is this possible?T…

I've seen in this forum problems with ActiveSky and Radar Contact regarding ATIS reporting winds aloft as ground winds. I'm experiencing the same problem, but I don't have Radar Contact installed. The add-ons I've are ActiveSky, FSNav, and My Traffic. In my last two flights, ATC cleared me for a visual approach on an IRS clearance, even though the Wx conditions dictated an ILS approach. Don't know if this is related to the issue. Any clues?Dave Vega

Hi,I bought your proggie today and I am very satisfied. It seems to do a lot things better than the other program that I have been using for almost a year now. But: the other program has a nice weather gauge that I really like and that I integrated in all my custom made panels. Any chance that this will work with active sky?Another thing: The QNH is shown in the European system, but most of my planes do not translate this setting. Where can I change from the European to the Americna system?Thx,Alex

I've just made some flights with online connection and that's worked well. Now I switched over to offline mode and start the actual cycle download. It's strange, because the first downloaded metar-file consists of just only two(!!) airport metars. With any additional download attempt, the number of airport metars increases, but I did not get "very important" ICAOs like EDDF or EDDM. Most of them are beginning with 'KL..'.Could it be possible, that Metar download does not work well like it should? TAF- and FD-files are no problem...Regards

Hi all,Some post release issues have been identified. They are:- Failure of weather to show in FS in certain situtations. Possible reasons: FSUIPC Run Options, ADVDISP problems, Video driver problems, TAF processing bug. Try disabling TAF processing, not using Run Options, and changing the order you load FS2002, wxRE and any other add-ons. Rebooting sometimes also clears this up.- TAF processing bug with certain TAF reports associated with PROB elements, causing weather to not update and process properly. Disabling TAF processing when encountered will temporarily fix it.- Inability of some users to download offline weather file sets. Sometimes attributed to AOL. Wo…

Damian,This program is the greatest weather generator yet!!! I just crashed & died trying to fly from KSTL to KMDW in the Baron 58 this morning. I have NEVER EVER had to worry about airframe stress due to turbulance. I found out this morning by dieing around 5000 ft that I now have to be concerned about my airspeed as I fly through heavy turbulance. Of course, I'm dead now so I don't care anymore!! LOL! & I didn't save my flight before I died, so I can't resurrect myself. This program is great!!!George

I'm getting the following message now when I load Active Sky:Error reading wxre.ine file - there may be an offline file/folder incorrectly set. Check you INI file.I've been running Active Sky for a couple of weeks now with no problem. Now I'm getting the above error. Also, The active weather station is not being picked up by the program when I load it. I usually have Fs2002 running when I start up Active Sky, and it always picked up the nearest weather station. Now I get some weird station that seems to be a billion miles away. What happened?-Don

Has anyone noticed sudden/almost instantaneous loss of altitude and airspeed whilst using wxRE online ? It has happened to me not once or twice but many times and I have only managed to rescue the aircraft twice. It seems to happen when WXre updates, there are violent swings in airspeed then all of a sudden you are on a different heading, dropping like a stone with no air speed. It is not the pitot heat (I thought of that) and the only thing I can tie it down to is wxRE as it never happened before I installed it. Most of these occurances have happened whilst in the cruise at between fl280 and fl350. Any info appreciated. By the way apart from this annoying issue this is o…

HiWhen Landing in the new Dash, in poor visiblity, I get a steady approach decent but when around 200/300ft from touch down I suddenly get what probably is strong turbalance and almost loose control of the aircraft with stall warnings and a hard landing. This, I would expect would render an approach to the airport to be aborted. Any ideas to keep my passengers in their seats and stop the screaming would be most helpful!!Seasonal greetings to allBob (EGHD)
