Guys,I'm not seeing one iota of difference with wind transitions after installing the new MR1 beta. Took off from KDFW enroute to KLAX and had several iffy wind shifts on climbout, then WHAM, 180 degree shift and overspeed/autopilot disconnect at FL310 crossing the MILSAP VOR on the Coyote 5 departure. Couldn't deal with it so I exited the sim at that point. Used a valid, processed FS2004 flight plan with AS2004 and have route based wind smoothing on. Honestly I'm not seeing one bit of difference at all regarding the wind shifts will earlier versions of AS2004. Guys, would you all just please be honest and tell us if the wind shifts are ever going to be fixed? …

Hi there,I've just purchased AS2004 and need to say here it looks anoutstanding product.However... Noticed this morning something much less nice:Seems when a metar indicates VAR winds (variable winds) withgusts, then AS2004 OR FS2004 get mad and twice crashed my simor the airplane, because of overstressed.is it a known issue?Maybe try to load ZBAA (Bejing, China), where it occured. the wind xas like. The wind in the Sim showed extremely abruptly fast variationsfrom 360 to 180 degrees with gusts exceeding 99 knots!...Damian, I know in real world operation VAR winds are often a problem, but was it thought in AS2004?Anyway,congrats for the work you did.regards,An=rnaud

Hello everyone!I've been thinking a long time now to maybe buy AS2004, but after reading all possible forums and posts, I still can't decide. One of the biggest things that concerns me is the wind situation. I saw the screenshots of the clouds and they are all fancy and beautiful and I believe also that my PC would eat the AS...Although, I would like to know what's the situation with the winds. I read on some posts that there are still erratic wind changes when climbing/descending. All I wouldn't like is the wind changing 180 degrees direction and stalling my aircraft...I mostly fly PMDG products, also sometimes PSS...so mostly heavies and medium Jets.So if anyone would ta…

Lately I have been experiencing heavy headwinds in any direction that I fly. Mostly these occur at flight level. They average around 75+ knots. Kills fuel to say the least. Is this a bug in wxRE?

Even chaging the Visdistance still gives me a Solid Line out to the distance indicated. Can anybody tell me whats wrong etc... Maybe it's because I'm a low time real world student pilot, but is it me or does the wake turb in FS generated by ActiveSky seem to be a bit excessive? I've been caught by wake turb twice now and it threw me wildly to the side, nearly 90 degress from my original heading. The wake turb I've necountered in real life wasn't any where near that bad. Maybe we were lucky and only encounted mild turb hence the relative easy recovery and not so bumpy ride.

Hi... Last night I flew into KBOS (Bostom Logan Intl). FSHotSeat reported severe turbulance in the area and sure enough as I came in on finals my 737 was bouncing all over the place. One of my pet peeves with FS is that most of the time there is little to any turbulence that affects your plane :( I know that AS2004 has a wake turbulence affect but is there any chance we could have an option in AS2004 for "random turbulance" perferably with a "severity" slider"?Crossing my fingers :)Regards,Mark

I would like to move AS2004 to my second computer to run AS2004 via WideFS. I had WXRE and just upgraded on my main computer to AS2004. So am I just going to move the whole AS2004 file over to the other computer??? What's the best way to do that. I remember that the upgrade needed some file from WXRE. So, I am not sure that I can really reinstall on a different system.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi - what's the file name for the downloaded version of Activesky 2004? I got it from SimMarket a while back and forgot where I put it on my computer too many drives and files scattered all over the place). I want to search for it... but what's the file name?BTW it would be easier to re-download it from SimMarket... but they instead want to charge me again for the file... even though they acknowledge I purchased it from them in December. 14. (This does not pertain to AS2004 for FS2004)Hello all,All wxRE users, please be advised that we are aware that the recent public servers have been unreliably lately, and by request, we are working on a better solution that will include an update option to interface with the HiFi DataNet. Due to the costs associated with providing such server access to the wxRE user base (and development of the HiFi Data/FS2002 weather translator), the solution will require an update purchase estimated around $20 US (subject to change of course as development and cost analysis continues). wxRE as is will continue to be supported and any issues with the current public servers will be addr…

Hi Everyone! We have officially started internal beta testing of MR1 today. We have made significant improvements with wind transitions, and in many cases the old FS9 wind shift problems have been completely eliminated using advanced route processing (including clockwise wind force to avoid FS9's wind bug). Cloud pops and weather consistency has also been addressed with significant improvements. Many more fixes and enhancements plus several new options as requested by the users! Thanks to all for their input and suggestions, and help providing detailed reports concerning Alpha 2!As soon as our beta team gives it a good go (and we've made appropriate refinements/fixes) …

Hi,i'm having some problems to get the correct winds aloft data imported to FSBuild:The winds aloft data FSBuild shows in the navlog for a specific waypoint does not match the values AS2004 shows (and applies to FS9) after processing my flightplan. The problem seems to be the "Route-based Wind Smoothing" option of AS2004:As soon as I uncheck this option the winds aloft data presented by AS2004 after processing my flightplan matches the FSBuild navlog values. Is there any chance to get the winds aloft data *with* the changesby the "Route-based Wind Smoothing" option applied into FSBuild? At least the possibiltiy to get the "average winds" for a processed plan with this data …

Hi Damian,Just other things I've observed while trying to figure out this cloud pop thing. To avoid updates from happening (because that's when the cloud pops occur) I've set the ceiling surpression update at 50,000 feet. However, even when I do that I still get updates about one an hour, which is puzzling to me because I thought you weren't supposed to get those updates while under the supression setting.I've tried all of the things you mentioned. Global writes off and visibility off and still no solution. I wanted to expand the supression range to 150, but the program won't all me to do it as I've explained earlier. The highest range setting I can put in is 100.I'm not ex…

DamianGreetings - at last managed to get to log into the Avsim forums (small cookie problem! - a bit underdone) plus at long last employed again :-jumpy Just to let you know that so far all has been well with AS2004 on my system since I last mailed you. I only get the odd bit of "wild winds" these days and little to no cloud popping and pretty smooth transitions. Fortunately the sudden drop in KIAS has gone... FSUIPC cured that one. I wish I knew what I did to get round it - just did a load of tweaking and seemed to have suceeded within reason.I have attached a copy of my AS2004.ini/FSUIPC.ini file settings for anyone who wants to try them who is haveing problems - i…

I have been noticing for a while now that the aloft winds seem to be very low compared to real world forcast. For example, the first screenshot shows AS2004 (1.01a2) sitting on the ground at CYXS with no flight plan loaded. The second shot shows Environment Canada's upper winds for CYXS. If you look at FL340 AS2004 has the winds 230@27kts -52C. Environment Canada has the FL340 (1700-2100z) winds for the same station as 206758 which decodes to 200@67kts -58C.Why such a difference? I have tried this without wind smoothing, and as I said above I have not loaded a FP to smooth as of yet.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61536.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61537.…

Hi Damian,I've done some more testing with the TAF turned off and I'm still getting the cloud pop ups.So it appears the disappearance of clouds is happening when AS2004 writes the weather to FSPUIC.Could it be that something's not working right with 3.14 version of FSPUIC?Thanks, Scott

Hi Damian. I want to congratulate you on your great product and I know it is the best weather program out there for FS2004. However I do have a slight concern and was wondering if this would be fixed in the update. I set turbulence to .20 and I have the update 1 installed, but now the turbulence itself is pretty bumpy and unpleasing and I know something isn't quite right. It goes away below about 1000 AGL, but during cruise, climb, and descent, it poses a threat. Just wondering if you know about this.. Also when will the new update be here! I can't wait. Thanks for listening, Chad

I was wondering if it would be possible to display on the fs screen(aircrafts location) the weather reported at the "nearest reporting point" When flying a route today the weather was much different on the screen that reported at nearest reporting point. That is the weather we are making reference to so it would be nice to see that on the screen rather than all this mobo jumbo about transitions and smoothing etc.ThanksRon

Hello,I wanted to land after Milano LIMC, but weather "ActiveSky2004" funktiont, it stands strongly for fog! I must turn on with automatically ILS! Perfect approach, dialogue shows correctly! I see not at land course! Approximately before 5 miles land course disturbs airplane, strongly Trubulance! It rises, then down...! I try without ActiveSky2004, land 100% perfect! Where is option?Best RegardSebastian
