Hi all,Great product, however I have one small problem I keep having the above problem whilst on short final, I have been blaming the buses as I have just re-installed them following all the problems they have had. However it just happened again but this time I noticed AS 2004 said "end of wake turbulence" I guess this is my problem? Could someone confirm this and if so give me a cure to prevent it.Many Thanks, Garry.

Goodmonring,Something I have noticed with the MR1. Metar says winds from 050/14 both at Active sky and at the scrolling line in the FS, BUT the indications I get in the cockpit instruments as well at the FS is different by almost 10 degres 060/14. This is happening to many airports around the globe not only in one or two. I have cleared the weather from FSUIPC before running active sky. Any ideas?Chris

I used PMDG with ActiveSky 2004 and after loading the weather,i changed the view (by pressing 's') to the external view and noticed that the textures of the aircraft are not loading and FS9 crashes to desktop.Any Solution. Please Help.

I need to know whether it is possible to directly install the MR1 update before installing the 1.92 patch. Please list out the procedure for the installation including the patches.

Hi,The update works superbly. Congratualations on a fine job.I did a flight from Heathrow to Seattle and the weather was spot on. No sudden windshifts, smooth weather all the way and a big band of overcast clouds on my arrival made for an exciting if dodgy approach (based on my flying skills).Keep up the good work.

Would appreciate hearing from anyone experiencing the following:Flying in OFFLINE mode with default AS2004 (latest build) settings, flight plan loaded. FS9 cloud draw distance is at 60 miles. As I approached my destination, about 60 miles out, I pickup the FS9 ATIS which reports my destination weather as, for instance, 800 overcast in light rain which is in perfect agreement with the AS2004 metar. Later at 30 to 40 miles out, AS2004 updates (scrolling metar), and my destination ATIS changes to "sky conditions clear". Indeed, when I get to my destination, I fly into clear conditions. This is happening on almost every flight as I near my destination. The only way I have been a…

I'm sitting on the tarmac with low clouds, < 3mi visibility, and rain pouring down around my ears. AR shows precipitation about 100 miles in the distance, but nothing overhead. The tracking screen correctly shows my position, wind direction and wind speed. Barometric pressure is 29.92 (and incorrect). Temperature reports 0/0 (bogus), ceiling unlimited (obviously bogus) and precipiptation: none (very bogus). The TAF for the nearest station correctly matches what is reported by ActiveSky; I am confident that ActiveRadar and AS2K4 are, in fact, communicating (albeit badly).I can't get AR to give me sane data, no matter what I try.JPS. Damian,For whatever reason I'm unable to load any flightplan into Active Radar. I see pleny of weather returns on the radar. I ran the Active connector2 and got a thumbs up from the installer. I hit the'MSFS' button then 'update all' but nothing populates the pages. I've followed instructions to a T; loading plan first in AS, then loading plan in FS before firing up Active Radar. ASky runs just fine otherwise. ActiveRadar.dll & the Active Radar are present. I've even shut firewalls off but still no luck. You have something I can try coz I'm out of ideas :)

I expect this has already been discussed before, but I'm really getting frustrated by layers of haze in valleys which look like transparent lakes. Is there any way when using Activesky that I can either get rid of the effect or at least make it look realistic?

Just a quick question: Are cloud tops, particularly for thunderstorms, reported in METARs? How are the heights of thunder storms determined using real weather through AS2004?Thanks!sg

Ok, I have followed the suggested fix of turning off render to texture. I can not seem to find any visual difference between it being on or off so can someone tell me what I'm missing? I'm running a GeForce FX 5800 Ultra with the latest drivers.

To current users:I would like to buy this software, but I have a few questions:Is it possible to use current weather and winds aloft without setting up a flight plan? How accurate are the ceilings and visibilites? I know FS 2004 real wx will be a 200 ft overcast and 1/2 mile, but I can see the ground from 3000 ft. Also, are there any other pros and/or cons for this software? Thanks

After ASky has downloaded the weather we see the line -'Enter route to enable wind smoothing'Does this mean if we don't enter a route, ie a quick VFR hop, we don't get any wind smoothing? I see from the options page the 'enable wind smoothing' is checked by default.I should say I set normal defaults (get online weather) and did a quick flight (no route loaded) to EIDW in the PSS Dash 8. Nice clouds and very smooth.Hence confusion ;)

Hi all, before i leave to toronto/canada this weekend (got the chance to get a jumpseat flight with the aircraft crew (and business class!) in the A340 and beside, i'm able to visit my friend, which i didn't see since 1992...), i would just like to report and summarize my findings with the latest release: installation was pretty forward, uninstalled previous beta versions (including radar) and installed the latest one - settings: normal defaults.did a flight from LOWW to EGLL - fired up AS2004 and FS2004 - had a very quick connection to the weather server - no problems at all with flight processing, fetching and writing - everything was setup within minutes! during the who…

Hi Damian and JimI just did a flight with build 87 LFPG - LOWW . I am very pleased to say that I had Perfect Weather handling form AS2004.I was off -line for a few days and jumped from build 84 to 87.All problems I was experiencing in build 84 are now gone with build 87.Those where cloud pops on updates and the continious update when you near your destination and the weather clearing at 30miles.ALL of those are now gone.I did the excact flight and used the same weather snapshot I used in build 84 now in build 87 and I saw the difference immediately.WELL DONE.I give it a BIG thumbs UP!!!!!!!!RegardsJannier

Hi everyone,Several US domestic/International organizations and weather sources (including some of those that we use for wxRE - and one used for HiFi DataNet data collection) are undergoing some maintenance and upgrades at the moment. In addition, one of our HiFi DataNet network backbone providers is undergoing a network upgrade which may temporarily effect network access through 03/06/04. "Spring Cleaning" time! We have also taken in upon ourselves to upgrade the HiFi DataNet system. We are welcoming the upgrades and expect to be able to further enhance the data collection and delivery process as a result of this. Thank you for your patience! We anticipate any outage…

Just trying the latest build for the first time and am getting a couple of problems.1. As of this writing the current weather should be 021400z, however the metar data in AS shows 000000z.2. Also doing a fetch for a station takes a very long time to complete and does not return the station requested. Is this a problem with the build, my installation or a server issue?I uninstalled the previous beta, leaving only the base install before applying the latest update.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/65424.jpg

Hi all,This is a follow-up thread concerning problematic data on the server (due to the recent maintenance) causing extended pausing and/or locks during manual wx fetch or flight plan processing.I checked the logs and found that problematic data was provided intermittently via current wx downloads during all of 03/02 and during 00Z and 16Z of 03/03. I have removed the 06Z and 12Z 03/03 archives (03/02 is ok) and as of right now can confirm no data problems. The extended problems into 03/03 were a result of the data files auto-rebuilding after maintenance and this process took quite a bit longer than expected. Please try a current download as of 03/03 21Z and if you have …
