Hi Damien or Jim,As you know I am a long time supporter of AS and have recently moved from Australia to the UK. I purchased AS2004 from Simmarket and paid for a year guarantee and downloads in preparation for the move and change of computer. My problem is that I had the previous version of As wxre and when AS2004 came out I obtained it at the offer rate and installation checks for the AS wxre version before it will install. Now in the UK I'm on a different computer which does not have the old version of AS wxre installed so now when I try to install AS2004 with my guarantee/downloads it does look for AS wxre and will not install. Is there a work round for this problem…

Hi AllI am new to Active sky and am hoping that somebody is able to explain to me how active sky works, I can not get me head around it. In Fs2004 you can set Dynamic weather and it will change itself over time, how does this work in active sky with updates and taf processing on, if you left the pc on all day sitting at an airport when would the weather change, would it stay identical until the next real life taf update in 24 hours or would it start to change on its own, probably a dumb qustion but thanks to any body who can explain it to meRegardsWayne

My moboard burned out last week and I got a new computer. I finally have everything copied/reinstalled to the new drive of the new computer except for active sky 2004. All the files are in the folder but I get an error message when I try to run it. I just happen to look at my plane from outside when encountering a wake turbulence, and i noticed that the rudder locked in an extreme position until i moved the controls.It is fine by me to use the control surfaces to simulate such turbulence, but rather then locking them (the surfaces) in some extreme position, i'd rather shake them; heavier when turbulences are heavier.This little joke made me crash when i was in a copter: made me make a 1440

the page just displays a short message that the site will be ported to another OS, and has been doing so for months already.Does anyone know the owner and whether the site will be back at all?It would be a shame if the project died.Is there another one like it? Hi,I purchased ActiveSky2004 over the weekend and have not been able to load my flight plans into ActiveRadar. When I select the flight plan, the only thing that happens is that I get a message to do an update all in the bottom box. When I click the update all button the message goes away and that is it. I tried to manually enter the flight plan, but it appears that ActiveRadar will only allow me to insert airports (even if a click the VOR selection). I have installed the MR1 update and everything validated during the install, so I assume that the install worked correctly. Afternoon, I had a problem with AS2K4 writing data to FS, and to make a long story short, had to reinstall FS, and everything seems to be ok now except for one thing. My wind seems to always be off my no more that 20 deg. For example, just departed KLAS with winds reported at 080@11, but of FS they were 067@11. I noticed the same thing in ABQ. Is this normal?? Also, on my PMDG 737, my FMC has the winds correct with AS but FS is off a little. For example, right now FS is reading winds at 199@11 but my FMC reads 213@11. Strange. Everything is working fine! I get 23 - 24 fps routinely unless in heavy cliuds around LAX when it drops to 6 -8. The cloud transitions are smooth. Hi When I use AS2004 after a while it disconnects my dial up connection,I have just tried flying with FS real world weather and there isnt a problem but when I use AS2004 again it disconnects me.Can anyone help me as I find AS weather FAR superior but its no good if I cant stay connected to the inet?Bart

Buying a new weather addon is a peasurable act. With ASwxRE installed in my fs2002 (and in fs9), I'm certainly getting great atmospheric effects. Just love that haze and smooth transitions from area to area.Here comes the big but...With the default fs weather download from Jeppesen. I get accurate winds aloft anywhere around the globe, or at least wherever there's a weather station nearby.With AS I've noticed that, according to the manual, the winds aloft are provided by U.S stations only, and flying elsewhere produces 'simulated' winds. As far as I can see, 'simulated' is just that. With the Jeppesen data, I get a more realistic flying envirinment. Can I get around this …

FS9 does not get the same weather as wxRE forecast.Also when arriving at destination such as this evening going intoKBNA I had winds from ATIS of 255/76 for runway 02L. SEQUENCE of OPERATION FS2004 was activated and set up per your instructions and then shut down. My computer system setup is as follows: Server(FS) on Drive F: , Client (AS2004) on Drive D: . However, on my flight today I wan't able to get the radar to work other than to display the wind speed and direction. Hi,Ok, AS2004 1.0 worked great, so I decided to wait for the offical patch release. But now I have a problem:FS9 doesn't get any weather from AS2004. I tried the things written in the FAQ (clear all weather, refresh, etc.) but nothing worked. The thing is, it worked when I tried it out at some airport offline... Yesterday, I noticed that AS2K4 was not writing to FS. I have the MR1 installed, and follow the proper precedure, ie: clear all weather through FSUIPC and have FSUIPC set to min. weather defaults. I noticed that it took a VERY long time, if at all, to write weather to fsuipc. My skies were clear, and I had no winds at all, when the weather report called for winds and clouds at serveral layers. So I uninstalled AS all the way out of my machine, and reinstalled v1.0, then build 81, and now have just installed MR1 build 90.So far, everything seems to be working the way it was before this problem started. Hi Damian, I've been flying out of NTAA quite a bit lately. I remeber wxRE had issues with NTAA also, it always diverted to NCRG. AS2004 displays the weather and it matches at the airport now, the problem is 122.0 will only give NCRG and when you fetch weather NCRG is the active and the TAF shows NTAA. Is this because it can't find a valid Tahiti reading or possibly a glitch?Chris

Also, when initially booting up FS2004 my defualt flight is in the KTPA area; AS lists the nearest reporting station as KRRF, which AFAIK doesn't exist.Tom

Hi,This is probably a FS traffic fault but it might be fixable. I have FS9, Radar Contact, Active sky WXre 1.92 and FSUIPC v3.xx (registered). I have followed the setup instructions for WXre 1.92 and cleared all weather from FS9. I run WXre 1.92 and wait until it has finished the download (broadband). I then make sure that user defined weather is set on FS9 and watch the pressure and temperature change on the aircraft panel to make sure it is the same as the metar on Activesky.Most of the time FS ATIS gives the correct pressure and temperature and wind direction and speed as well as the other metar info. The problem is that it directs AI traffic to the wrong runways. Tod…
