Hi. Just a quick query: if I load a Wx file and then a 'New Route' into AS6 (and then process the route of course), are both the Wx and Route data kept in memory after shutting down and restarting AS6, or do I have to reload the same flight into AS6 and process it again?Thanks,Martin

I've just downloaded ASX and applied SP2 to it. When I bring up ASX I get the "SimConnect managed version was not correctly installed" error.I've tried all the troubleshooting tips. Nothing has worked so far.First, I uninstalled FSX SP2 then re-installed it. No joy after that.I then tried the manual method in the documentation. I found not one but two folders in the windowswinsxs folder similar to the one mentioned in the troubleshooting section, but neither exactly what the documentation called for. I have used ASV/6.5 for many years - only gripe has been that there is not enough wind gust effect or turbulence near the ground.Approaches to Barbados and Montego Bay go with just a few bumps, a far cry from a real life landing in a 15 knot trade wind!I have increased the turbulence settings in the fs9.cfg which has given me greater turbulance generally and changed the frequency percentage in AS options.When I go , , Customize Weather, pick the specific station that I am at, and select and then winds, the dialogue box shows me the wind speed in each wind layer, indicates the turbulence strength (I do get turbulence), but the 'gusts to (knots)' section always reads 0 for…

Hi,after having installed SP2 I tried to fly from KSFO to PANC but destroyed the plane every time as I had winds of 120 knots shifting by 180

Subject says it all, really. I sit on the tarmac for 10 minutes for preflight. ASX sets weather OK. Then, after a few minutes the clouds disappear and are redrawn. Seems to happen every 5 mins or so. Happens again on takeoff. I've reinstalled FSX Sp1, ASX, ASX(SP2) etc. It reads the metar correctly but the constant cloud redraw is awful!!.I'll also add that I've set ASX defaults, to no avail.I've had previous problems (pre SP2) but now, with SP2 doing this, I'm disappointed.

In ASX there is an option if you right click on setting the historical time to "Open IME". If you select it, it toggles to "Close IME", but no additional window opens. So my question is what is it, and is it something we should be using?Thanks

Hi,I have no internet connection at home so I am trying to download the weather files on my office PC (AS installed there too) to later load them on my home PC.However. I proceed as follows. -I click the download weather button. -Select the day and hours of eather I want to download and -hit the Download archive Button. -It reads "Downloading wx data from HIFI.. 00Z" then 01Z and so forth until it apparently downloads everything.Then a Dialog screen appears saying "Archive set downloaded for xx/xx/xx. ooz hour will start the sequence, and fs time will automatically be set"I hit ok and when I try to find the file on Windows Explorer I'm unable to do so.I'm wondering: 1.)wh…

Hi,what is wrong with the wind data ?loaded KSFO-KBOS and got a wind forecast at FL 350 ALL THE WAY at 121 rpt 121 DEGREES with one exception where the wind was at 286 for 39 miles . . .The official wind map from aviationweather.gov shows a clear westerly wind situation!Just to be sure I loaded KLAX-KJFK and got for nearly the same routea wind with 151 and 181 degrees alternating also with one exception of 286 degrees . . . Hi,I have been using AS6 for quite some time now. This morning I was able to open AS6 and make one flight with FS9.1. This afternoon I wanted to make a flight using FS9.1 and Active Sky will not even open. I get thiserror:"Only part of a read process memory or write process memory request was complete"I have not changed anything within FS9 or AS6. I do have FSUIPC 3.75 and am a registered user, so this error has me befuddled. All other applications open fine and work properly. Should I uninstall AS6 and reinstall? What's going on with the major differences between info presented on Reports page and WX Config page for same station at same time?I'm using Build 1106 with FSX SP2 in a PMDG 744X KORD-KIAH FL370. Wind smoothing, virtual sta and enhance route are all OFF. During the departure and lower level climb things were okay, then severe and sudden shifts climbing through FL300. I've decided that since SP2 was not able to provide a definitive answer to winds aloft that I can survive and fly happily with no winds whatsover, ground or aloft, BUT I still want the spectacular clouds and visibility advantages of ASX. I am sill using SP1. My question is, can I achieve 0/0 winds in FSX with ASX for all stations or am I out of luck and have to use the dysfunctional winds aloft or no ASX at all. Do I need to update to SP2 in the context of my question or can I stay at SP1. I hope this isn't too confusing. I am desperate to try and fly but won't with those silly juking winds aloft and am willing to give up winds, but don't wish to give up the other graphic…

Since installing ASX SP2, I've had a problem where if I look at different airports under the report screen, the wind direction does not seem to change. For example, right now I'm looking at CYYZ showing exactly 228 degrees wind. I then select EGKK, EGLL, EGAA, CYUL, CYOW, KMIA, YSSY, EDDF, KJFK....all show 228 degrees for the wind (that was a random sample of airports).There are also a handful that are showing 288 degrees for wind, CYHZ, CYWG...I did find one or two that were somewhere between 228 and 288, KLAX, KLAS, KMSP...but no where did I find an airport with an opposite wind direction.In the sim, the wind does not match what the ASX report screen is showing me. Hi There,In As v6.5 there is a very interesting feature : after entering a flight plan we got Average wind speed and Direction in the Nav Log.This was very useful for the computation of fuel to board especially on a Jet Liner like 737 or 747.Unfortunately this feature has disapeared in AsX, there is no mention of average wind in the briefing page.It would be a very good suggestion to add this feature with the next SP. I was just running ASX with ASX loading Xgraphics textures and was getting quite frequent pauses.I have not been using ASX lately so this is why I noticed it.I posted a while back about this problem and was to to uncheck"force to high priority" which I did and it seemed to help.I saved my flight,exited FSX and shut down ASX.Reloaded FSX and loaded my saved flight.Scnery,clouds,weather seemed just like they were when I saved the flight.No pauses like I was getting with ASX running.I have a med mach which hopefully I am upgrading soon but it runs FSX OK.Is what I did a "poor man's" way of utilizing ASX or was I not using it at all?Thanks,Ron

Does SimConnect provide enough hooks so that you all can get all of the wind data you need from the data stream?I'm just trying to get a handle on the wind shift thing.
