The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Sometimes I feel guilty for not flying my PW aircraft. This 525A is one of my recent purchases, and I had already installed and checked it earlier that the VC/FMS look OK, but, had never actually flown it. So, I wished to try it for a flight today. Unfortunately, I ran into multiple issues, starting with persistent "DATABASE LOADING" message on its FMS. However, some internet inquiry finally helped me resolve that issue. But, then, I could not get it to properly start from Cold & Dark (maybe it's just me, or some peculiarity with this aircraft...anyway, will examine the cause on my next flight). And, Carenado, surely, has its share of criticism regarding system-fideli…

Love flying over north central California into Reno, capturing ILS 110.9 into 16R, riding it all the way into the landing on approach hold. Coming into Reno is breathtaking from California as one transitions from the coast range out of SFO, over the farmland of Central Valley, and into the Alpine Sierra with views of Mt. Rose on final into Reno. I lived in Nevada for a year, and often either flew into Reno from Oakland or SFO on Aircal's (later American's) air, hotel and show package, the "Happy Hop" or I would take a bus trip with either my parents or coworkers from Montgomery Ward from Napa. When I flew the happy hops I was a night auditor and Front Office Manag…

I have not flown Orbx (Northern Rockies) for quite some time...Triggered by another member's post today, I thought it may be a bit of fun to try a scenic flight in this region. Here are ten snapshots starting off from the city of Jasper in Alberta (ICAO=CYJA) and its vicinity. Jasper is the heart and commercial center of the Jasper National Park (an accredited UNESCO World Heritage Site), and often touted as the most beautiful place in Canada. Thanks for viewing. DC-8 is one of my favorite planes. DC-8 had multiple series types (DC-10 through DC-70), and many sub-types within each series. Aerosoft has released a DC8-50 series SIM, and I wish to acquire it soon, but, the purpose of this post is to exhibit the numerous variants within the DC-8 family. Launched after B707, the DC8 went toe-to-toe with the legendary 707, and kept its presence until eventually superseded by the likes of B747, DC10, and L1011. Although, it was actually the De Havilland company that first introduced the jet airliner (Comet) in 1949, Comet suffered several fatal crashes...(the price to pay for being the Pioneer!). However, the resultant lessons-learned of…

Hi all, after decades of flying P3D, FSX and many of their predecessors, I decided to take the plunge and give X-Plane 11 a shot. With the base sim around the same price as a single quality P3D addon, and with lots of good freeware available I decided "why not?". After getting past the initial "ugh, this is different, I don't like different" phase, I'm starting to settle right in with X-Plane. I'll still spend a lot of time in P3D flying heavy iron, but I'm loving GA flying in X-Plane (I have to admit the FlyJSim 737 and 727 look very nice...so maybe not only GA flying LOL). I picked up the wonderful Aerobask DA62 to cruise around in, spent some time playing…

Herr Drabek's marvelous take on the Lufthansa 747-8i D-ABYA, "Brandenburg". I'm partial to this one.. This image shows her departing Nairobi, Kenya. On 11/20/1974, D-ABYB, "Hessen", a 747-130, crashed here on departure to Johannesburg. For that reason, there will not be another D-ABYB. Cruising over Lake Victoria. Entebbe, Uganda is seen below. Great work, as usual, Steve! -Scott Brandenburg.

Still learning to fly the CRJ, I did my second flight in a quite busy area : KBOS to CYUL. This plane is a real pleasure to pilot, and I mean pilot. It is the first time in a liner I engage the AP so lately, and turn it off so early. Even when AP is on, even while cruising, you have to take care of your speed because of the lack of ATHR.
