The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Many years ago my wife and I flew into Alice Springs, spent two days in the somewhat sleepy town, before we took a car and drove to Ayers Rock. In those days very few called it Uluru and I was still allowed to climb it. Starting October 2019 it will be banned to climb Uluru Kata out of respect to its traditional owners, the Anangu people ORBX Australia v2 I still remember well, when we drove by car through this “hole” in the mountain Lake Amadeus is a large salt lake, some 180 km long and 10 km wide Shortly thereafter Uluru comes into sight The sha…

Enstrom copter ported from FSX via FlyAway Simulations. Has simple VC and good handling, arguably the best handling I've experienced in a P3D copter.... I like the look of this copter which is in the same vein as the Rotorway 162... https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/5840/fsx-enstrom-280fx-package/ John

BD5j out of Lubbock TX, with its great farm vibe.... Last shot shows the final extent of my OrthoXP coverage made for XP11.... Provides hour upon hour of scenic flying! Note the "Queen of the skies" on takeoff from Lubbock to the south, in my first shot.... John

Gee Bee ("G B" stands for "Granville Brothers" (Zantford, Thomas, Robert, Mark and Edward)) was a unique and novel aircraft. In particular, Gee Bee Model Z (subject of this post, and made famous via the film The Rocketeer) was the first of the Super Sportsters built by the Granville Brothers Aircraft of Springfield, MA. It was created with the sole intent of winning the prestigious Thompson Trophy. Just as (one of the few still continuing) famous Reno Air Races (1st race 1964), Thompson Trophy was one of the National Air Races of the heyday of early airplane racing in the 1930s (it lasted 1929-1961). It was the period of aviation when daring pilots, with nerves of steel, …

My modified Sky Spirit 767-300ER so I can have wing views from the external model ported into P3D.... The last pic is a real one of the same livery in Phoenix. Thomas Cook has recently expanded its non-stop 767-300ER service out of Phoenix due to its success, and the 767 is a great aircraft for long hauls in economy.... I use the 2-d panel included with another Skyspirit package found here and the Thomas Cook/Condor livery found at Avsim and modified to fit in with this package, which makes for a fine library of 13 repaints and P3D4.x compatibility. As noted in another post, I modified the aircraft by editing the internal model in the four model.cfg files to match the…

The Boston area was understandingly quite cloudy and misty as we departed KBOS during the morning after, one of the smaller airports in the region visible through the BINOVC. The flight to St Louis saw mostly cloudy skies along the flight plan [BLZZR.BAF Q480 AIR J110 VHP.AARCH2] We finally broke out of the cloud cover near central Illinois, just as we began receiving our first St Louis area ATIS. KSUS, St Louis Spirit, was the first we received, and we were overjoyed to hear 6,500 scattered and 20 miles. That was an indication our slow approach would be seen by many fans on the ground! We however were to land at St Louis Lambert! …

I modified this Skyspirit 767 so it could have dynamic wing views from the original model. It uses the original 2D panel, and I used P3D's camera config to save the wing view positions. For a legacy aircraft, flight dynamics are just outstanding and the takeoff and gps guided flight towards EGLL feel quite real, especially with the wing views and sunset takeoff from JFK looking towards the Empire State building and new WTC.... To get the wing views from the exterior model I just modified the model.cfg for each of the four included aircraft types so the interior model matched the exterior model. The pax perspective makes for enjoyable memories, my last European flight …

Departing Leadeville's Lake County Airport (KLXV). Highest airport in North America (9,934 ft). Crossing the continental divide for the first time at Freemont Pass (11,318 ft). Sitting on display on the tarmac at Lambert Field, in St. Louis, just out of the paint shop! Waiting to head to our Stanley Cup Conference Finals destination! Will it be the San Jose Sharks? Or the Colorado Avalanche? That will be decided in tonight's Game 7 Division Finals in San Jose. If San Jose wins, the Conference Finals will begin there. But if the Avalanche prevail St Louis will inherit Home Ice advantage and the series will start in St Louis. The winner of the Conference Finals 7 game series will play in the Stanley Cup Finals. During the series with Nashville, and the series vs Dallas, the back and forth trips were made with a Turbine Duke v2. But st…

I am glad Laminar has finally updated DC and NYC, NYC is especially well done, as is the Lincoln Memorial and Capitol building in DC.... Cultural additions to Xplane11 add richness to the sim for Americans, or Europeans, or elsewhere where such additions are added. John

Just one, a night flight just out of Fairbanks AK in the Icon A5 with the shimmering Aurora overhead to cast an eerie green glow atop the wings. The Aurora is not in Xplane11 as a default option, but it and shooting stars can be added by editing X-Plane.prf in the output, preferences folder and editing these lines from a zero to a one at the end, to read: renopt_aurora 1 renopt_fire_ball 1 The aurora will appear above 60 degrees north or higher--Fairbanks for example is at 64 degrees north The shooting stars are brief, but watch for them....
