The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I usually add one payware title a month to either P3D or Xplane, but I've been enjoying Xplane11 so much lately that I am moving my momentum in add-ons to that sim. P3DV4 is alright, but I just feel I see better things when I fly in Xplane11, each aircraft that I buy feels like I expect it would, and even though Xplane11 does not have seasons, it just "looks" to me like what I see when I fly in real life, at any altitude, and whether it is default scenery or photo scenery I fly over, it just looks fine. RealityXP works in it, like it does in the P3D world, and I like that presence of information and flight planning, that makes this hobby and my learning how to fly …

I toned down these pictures somewhat, just to put perspective in a world that has been continuously at war somewhere or another as long as I have been alive... But then I remember shows like MASH, where the doctors treat the wounded no matter what side they are on, and photos like these for me are part of war reconciliation that a member of Sons of VFW feels. Sometimes I like to take the edge off of my screenshots, and do something different with them. In these shots I just wanted the golden glow of flight in my theme, out of Quebec City Canada, which I visited almost 30 years ago... John

The Convair B58 Hustler always had a special place in my "aviation" heart, as she was one of the first Revell models I built as a kid and I’m glad that she flies in P3D v.4.5. This is the 2014 Glowingheat model. I have modified somewhat the VC, as it looked at least for me out of the box too FS9-ish Once airborne she picks up speed amazingly fast. So we will cover the distance in a heartbeat Over Edwards AFB Unfortunately she lacks speed brakes, so it takes an eternity to bring her down to a landing speed of around 220 knots …

Having flown the rudder pedal absent Ercoupe in real life, I can vouch for its taste of nostalgia and this freeware Xplane11.x model is one of the best, flies like the real thing. So they did not get one in every garage, but they sure are interesting to fly sans rudder pedals. You turn it on the ground like a car, by turning the yoke, which steers the aircraft. With any crosswind you come in crabbed, but too much of a crosswind component can make one nervous. I took up trike flying thinking I was going to purchase an Ercoupe some day, but decided not to because at that time the 1320# LSA STC had not happened yet, limiting its gross weight to two 170# pilots and less t…

I love the initial climbout heading to Socal out of SFO, as one climbs over the south SF Bay then glides past Monterey Bay, reaching cruising altitude right about that point. It is such a scenic part of the route to Socal, passing the Pacific Coast along the San Andreas fault system, looking down at Santa Cruz and deep Monterey Bay and towards Carmel. John

Simheaven's forests add free depth and dimension to already great autogen in Xplane11.34. Out of Valdez Alaska, rarely shared here in the screenshots forum with Alabeo's beautiful Cardinal, which I still think looks contemporary 50 years after its birth into the General Aviation world. John

I love Nostalgia, and who cannot remember the Winnie Mae and its going around the world in eight days, instead of 80. I installed Wing42's reproduction of this aircraft and it is amazing, and believe it or not, a systems aircraft--one has to manage the systems of the day, such as Spark Advance, fuel primer, the starter and clutch, to get and keep this bird in the air. Once airborne, it is nearly a hands off flyer, slow and lumbering like you would expect such an aircraft to be. The fit and finish and interior are lacking though--they lack the smell of varnish, lol! It is a worthy add on for those who do not like to FMS everything, and want to still have long or short …

More of the Vega on a flight departing Idlewild (now JFK)..... Western Airlines, known for the slogans "Three Feet for your two legs" and "The oooooonly way to fly". Great aircraft, just don't get caught off guard if she backfires and ya think someone is shooting at ya! John

Love the way the cloud shadows play over the desert photo scenery and California's Inland Empire near Ontario and towards LAX. RealityXP guided me on vectors to my final approach, I love the automation in the busy LAX airspace. John
