The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I happened to locate, in my archive, today, an un-used (but rather interesting) small SIM plane purchased from Golden Age Simulations, that I installed fresh and took it out for a flight. The Stinson Aircraft Company was a little-known aircraft manufacturer, that was founded in Dayton, Ohio, in 1920, by, an avid aviator, Eddie Stinson. After several years of start of this venture, the company, in 1925, had moved to Detroit, to the current site of the Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. Its aircraft manufacturing operations lasted from 1920 to 1950s. Eddie Stinson, did not, however, live to enjoy the success of his company. He died in an air crash in Chicago, I…

What started as a simple little add-on for myself turned into a major, multi-year project. The goal was not perfection but really 3-parts: immersion, performance and enjoyment. I think I have accomplished this but the only way to make sure is to let others try it. So I am seeking beta testers to fly simwestFOTOREAL. We need all types of simmers with all types of platforms. So if you fly with P3Dv4, v3, v2, v1 and/or FSX or FSX:SE and are interested in beta testing please send me an email at... ‘projects @ simwest . com’ (FYI - there are no spaces in the email address). Please type ‘BetaTester’ for the Subject line. Here are some development shots: …

Just a couple of shots to show what it's like relating to my post in the FSX forum. Note that I have my autogen set to normal. JF recommends higher if you can and yes, it greatly improves the look. However, as it stands, my sim IS more or less a slideshow around London thanks to the mighty Heathrow (UK2000) and other airports in close proximity as well as London's landmarks. Here's a couple taken from the lovely Rockwell Commander 114 by Carenado near Hawarden airport. The first one shows part of the former RAF Poulton. Autogen trees are quite nice, however as I've said if you can get performance with full on autogen then do it. Here's some autogen in a town…

According to the pilots eye video I've been watching, the payload was an impressive 88 tonnes (a tad over 194000 lbs) with just over 39 tonnes of fuel. We will be punching our way through the rough stuff! She took a while to get up and go.. ..coming through! Don't mind me!.. Mount Kilimanjaro off to port. Someone secure a Go Pro to one of the runway edge lights! Just before the reversers activated. All safely offloaded.

Off to Nairobi. No landing pictures because due to some strange bug, all the ground service vehicles appeared beside the plane as I was taxiing in! Cleared for takeoff RWY25C Positive rate. Gear up! Should see the sunrise on the port side soon. My newly-installed dome light is doing a great job.. Daylight over Germany.

(This is 2nd of my two SIM aircraft purchased from JF's most recent SALE.) One thing I'm personally convinced, and I think, most will generally agree that in spite of the dark sides to WW I and WW II, the impetus these events and their aircraft provided for rapid and significant advances in aviation (including in the (non-military) civil and commercial sector) cannot be denied. Imagine the fact, for a moment: During World War II itself, Boeing and its partners worked together to produce a staggering 98,965 aircraft, including the famed B-17 Flying Fortress. Boeing (among others), to its immense credit, took the lead in co-operating with its rivals (notably Douglas/Mc…

A nice pair of cities to fly between in Xplane11. Gotta love Reality XP, I love the way you can program the flight from takeoff to vectors for final then you can hand fly the approach once lined up, as I end up for Midway 4R. I have landed and taken off from Midway just once, in an American Trans Air 757 on my way from Phoenix to La Guardia in '99, flew a 727 from Midway to La Guardia and had a beautiful approach into La Guardia, with downtown Manhattan off to my left. It was a funny flight my office travel agent scheduled, because I was going to JFK to train the staff at the then JFK Hilton which was converting to a Best Western. My two week trip ended up extending t…

Enjoying the Carenado Shorts just out of London City, and the Carenado Beech 200 over the lights of PA, just out of Pittsburgh. I love the new lights of P3DV4.5, I find them very realistic at night. Nighttime cruising, especially in the Beech, is quite nice. John
