The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  3. The rugged and majestic beauty of the Himalayan mountains is un-paralleled on the earth, But, at the same time, it's one of the most inhospitable and dangerous territories for aviation (ETOPS restrictions apply to this region). There are inevitably catastrophic and unforgiving consequences to errors made in flight. This is one such story. On 31st July 1992, Thai International Airways Flight 311 (an Airbus A310-300) lifted off from Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport at 10:30 local time with 99 pax and 14 crew destined for Kathmandu's Tribhuvan International Airport (VNKT). After reaching Nepalese airspace, the pilots (Captain Preeda Suttimai (41), and FO Phunt…

I saw a review of the Carenado C550 for Xplane11, which I have for P3DV4.4, and I decided to get it just so I could integrate RealityXP's GPS into the sim, which you can see in one of the screenshots. I love it, information at your fingertips, it adds a new sense of immersion into my flying as I enjoy Xplane11 and simming in general. I've been gradually drifting away from P3DV4 not that I do not like it, it just seems I have a broader envelope of flying I can explore in Xplane11, from a low and slow powered parachute to a single stage to orbit freeware add on I found. I won't be removing P3DV4, I have too much invested there and I do not want to lose that, but I am enj…

  7. We all know that the stock FSX ATC leaves a bit to be desired, but today left me more puzzled than ever. IFR flight from Quito to Bogota (another high-elevation airport!). So another light load - total guesswork as the clip for the Pilot's Eye TV Lufthansa Cargo MD-11 hop from SEQM to SKBO didn't detail the payload or fuel. Just 10 tonnes of cargo and 22 tonnes of fuel. ATC told me clear for ILS approach to 13L then Circle To Land 31L. I thought the weather was looking a bit dodgy, so why ask me to do that I wonder? Yes indeed! Total madness!! But hey, this is a sim and if ATC want me to play Captain Cowboy disregarding life, limb.... and boxes.. I'll try! …

I have wanted to have a 787 for the times when I am in the mood for a long haul flight, since I feel it is the most futuristic looking aircraft, yet nostalgic aircraft with a nod to the first jet, the Comet, because of its unique nose. It does not have a lot of gimmicks, like a virtual cabin, but it does come with wing views and as many liveries as one wishes to download from their site. It uses the trustworthy Flight1 wrapper, one can never go wrong with it, it is my favorite means of copy protection in our hobby today, because there are no key-codes to remember, just your email address and computer signature works, which is a very professional way for our hobby's deve…

  9. Last week, I'd picked up this JF aircraft from their SALE. If one is an aviation fan, the Avro Lancaster Bomber needs no introduction (especially if you are a military enthusiast...and I know there are a few here). I'm a bit of an aviation fan myself, but not that much into military...I'm yet to make use of any ordnance capability that comes standard with some of the fighter aircraft I occasionally fly...e.g. as I'd noted before, when (and if) I ever get the "incomparable SIM" DCS MiG-21, if I could, I would probably fly it first, on an evening "stroll", between Chicago and Indianapolis...🙂...At the same time, I do enjoy sightings of military classics such as Messerschmit…

Enjoying the VSkylabs Eurofox out of Spanish Fork airport near Provo, Utah. I flew out of Spanish Fork in the Eurofox's cousin, the Kitfox. Highest flight (in terms of a runway takeoff) I have ever flown as a pilot, although I flew a Rans S6 ES homebuilt out of Hemet California to 9000 feet MSL on a warm desert day in California's Inland Empire. I wish they had a quality Rans S6ES for Xplane11 or P3D, maybe VSkylabs will see this post and put the Rans on a wishlist, it is a great experimental, especially when powered with a 100 hp Rotax 912 with a slipper clutch. I do not recommend purchase of an experimental with a two stroke, my friend and CFI Jim Blumer invite…

I know many of you are used to flying the perfect PMDG 777. But, I found this CS B777 lurking in my archive that I'd not noticed since my return to SIM on FSX-SE. I see a note with it that I'd purchased this one, a few years ago, during one of CS's "flash" SALES (which typically, I forget, lasts just for 12 or 24 hours(?)), and which SALE, almost always I miss i.e. by the time I come to know of it, it's already over! I think I recently missed one such (CS) SALE noted/posted on The Bargain Hunter's Shack here. In any case, I installed this aircraft today on FSX-SE and gave it a test-flight (after some minimum mandatory study of the supportive documentation). I also managed…

  21. Following on from my previous post (here), I'm about to return to Madrid on the IBE6856, the A346 does do this route but not this flight (it did when I actually did the flight but that was ages ago) these days they use an A350 and the A340 does the later one. We leave at 1:25 in the afternoon and arrive 6:20am the next day. Parked up with the usual suspects here in EZE As we push back, out of the window you can see the international carriers, same usual suspects though. Some orangy blue KLM hybrid monstrosity landing as we taxi out. Some wing shots after take off Climbing away from the weather with the suburbs of Buenos Aires below …

I enjoy so much this VSkylabs Gyrocopter for Xplane11, the first simulation of a Gyrocopter I have ever flown, reminds me of Little Nellie of the Bond movie, "You Only Live Twice". Xplane11 allows autogen to be placed over Photoreal scenery and in the wild Sonoran desert around Sedona, it adds to the immersion factor to see the scrub bush below... I wish there was more activity than just myself and a few others here in the screenshots forum. This is the place where we say to the payware and freeware vendors that they have done a good job, keep it up! And we say that to Lockheed Martin and also Laminar, Aerofly and the other sims out there. John
