The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  2. I've been recreating the tour from the pilot's eye DVD "Lady's trip to the closed strip" Quito on a Lufthansa Cargo MD-11. Hence my Sky Sim MD screenshots recently! It's a great set of flights IMHO: Gorgeous aeroplane, gorgeous countryside, and FO Anne-Katrin has a smile to die for - professionalism and beauty is a win-win. Anyhow.. One of the stops is SKBO. I had recently found a nice freeware airport. Good job , much improvement over the stock FSX. No complaints. However, I learned today that Virtualcol's offering is now free - it's a keeper. Seems quite well optimised, at least as far as I could tell taking my payware Carenado Commander114 for a tr…

Enjoying my RealityXP integration into Alabeo's Cardinal for Xplane11. Flying out of Napa to Santa Rosa, a real life flight I took in my friend's rented 182, Tim Hurley, and Mike McKeowen, both pilots, back in the mid 80's. We then took off from Santa Rosa, cruised south to Point Reyes then South/Southeast over the Golden Gate Bridge, then east to Concord's Buchannan Field where we ate lunch at the Nugget Restaurant. Then we flew back home. I subsidized the flight with about $40.00 to help pay for the aircraft rental, we otherwise went Dutch on lunch. We flew quite often, every few weekends for a few years, or my friend Mike and I would ride our bicycles to Calistoga…

The personal airliner of the non kerosene breathers, the Piper Malibu Mirage, able to handle some pretty good city pairs, like Santa Rosa to Santa Ana, or Napa to Reno, or Petaluma to Vegas... I love the way it just floats on landing.... and floats on landing, in ground effect... For just feather light gentle touchdowns.... John

  13. I don't typically post a lot of these... but tonite was just gorgeous. I did another online flight and looking at the weather (it was supposed to be a lower marine layer but ended not showing up), I elected to shoot the VOR-A into KSMO. 15. As one sees the nice King Air 350s, here, in the forum, in recent days, being flown (so passionately) by the members, one might think back to the days when the Turboprop (the type of engines that power the KA350) made its very first flight...It was in 1948, the Vickers Viscount was introduced as the first commercial airliner to use turboprop power (equipped with four Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines). The Vickers Viscount made its maiden flight 70 years ago on Friday, 16 July 1948. Regular passenger flights were launched by British European Airways (BEA) on April 18 (1953), the world's first scheduled turboprop airline service. Rolls-Royce is still a catchword in a…

This quick post is prompted by a bit of (separate) discussion today about how good (really) is the new Lufthansa livery, and how deserving it is of its rich history... After changing to its current livery in the 1960s — blue tail with yellow circle, blue stylized crane in the circle, blue cheat-line down a largely white fuselage — Lufthansa had remained faithful to this model. Throughout the years, all their liveries have, at least, featured the classic Lufthansa yellow. In the 1990s, the amount of grey on the undersides became smaller, but the livery overall remained the same. But that has changed recently - since Feb. 2018 — a big piece of that identity has go…

  22. The Piper Pacer is one of my favorite VFR (SIM) aircraft. I was "loitering" around a bit, today, with it - around Orbx's Stewart area...and thought, would share a few snapshots of its liveries...The Tri-Pacer variant (designation PA-22) was a 4-seater aircraft that goes a long way back to 1949 - built by Piper in the post-WWII period in the continued spirit of the famous Cub and Super Cub. Essentially, it was a modification of the earlier PA-20 Pacer, that was originally designed with a tail-wheel. To improve forward visibility, Piper introduced the PA-22 Tri-Pacer with a nose-wheel instead of the tail-wheel landing gear. At the time, the tricycle undercarriage became so …
