The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  3. [Note: Tipped by the Bargain Shack, I decided to do my 1st Airport Scenery purchase from the "The French Touch" team (the LLH Creations) - sounds a bit like "LHC - Lionheart Creations" but this is different. I picked up Courchevel (LFLJ) and Chambery (LFLB)...these 2 towns (in the French Alps) are very near each other (only about 50 miles apart). Here is my report for Courchevel...] First consider these facts: This airport (LFLJ) consistently ranks in the top 10 most dangerous airports in the world (and, probably would be in the top 5, if one excludes jet-capable airports). Its 525m (1722ft) Rwy has a very steep slope gradient of 18.5%. On landing …

Hi, these are from a flight from Dushanbe, Tajikistan, to Beijing (A_A Sceneries' new masterpiece). Due to high fuel consumption of my preferred plane I had to find a place to refuel, and I did chose Altai in south-western Mongolia. Dushanbe: See all these venerable planes...! Probably Tajikistan Airlines' last Tu-134, ready to be scrapped 😥: Pamir's summits: Ismail Somoni Peak (former Pik Kommunizma) and Korshenevskoy: And then Altai: Literally the Middle of Nowhere: En route again: Mongolian Steppe: Near Beijing; beginning the ILS 36L approach: Beijing smog: …

I love the Alabeo 421C, like the Duke, such a nice twin, so clean looking in the air, and such a capable mid range piston for fuel efficient flights. I love the Alabeo sounds for this aircraft too, the nice rich hum, I have flown in an unpressurized twin Cessna in real life and the sounds are very close from an inside the cabin perspective, at least from my memory since the flight was almost 30 years ago over Venezuela and its tropical rainforests into Canaima. The big lake is Napa County's well known Lake Berryessa, which for the first time in many years went completely full I was told by one of my friends still living in the valley where I was raised. I have bik…

The inspiration for the Disney castles and real life location shots for the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, a song me and my semi pro school touring choir would sing in concert when the movie was possible, and the song is on our first record album recorded in 1971 that I performed on, on the now defunct Astrolog record label. But that album and two others paid for our tours which covered more than ten thousand miles of the US and Canada. This marvelous scenery can be found here and for final perspective I have included a shot from one of my several visits to this castle. The forests are enhanced by Simheaven and the framerate is much better than the author predicted, e…

  11. I've held off joining the VR crowd for far too long! Today I had one the most immersive landings I've ever experienced on a PC, the situational awareness that the whole VR setup provides is really impressive. The TBM 900's cockpit in VR is astonishingly well done, one of the best GA aircraft out there for VR. Some screenshots of the landing:

  18. I finally pulled the trigger on Rex 4 (Just Flight have it for £16.99) and carried out a flight in the SkyMaster to test it out. Seems I picked a nice day for GA in the UK - hardly any weather to speak of. Not so good for Rex as most of the METARS were CAVOK LOL, at least until I got close to Liverpool. I selected EGSS for Rex to generate a theme and off I went. AHA! A bit of low lying cloud, or fog.. NOW we have a cloud that shows me we are good to go - DX10 Fixer Cloud Shadows are working fine. ..and here we are, right downwind for RWY27 EGGP.

  19. Eastern is one of those classic U.S. Airlines that has a long and fascinating history on par with the likes of UA, Pan Am, TWA, Delta and NW, although probably not receiving as much attention. We know that Airline business, everywhere, is always, to say the least, tough, and, there are many factors that have shaped the evolution and survival of Airlines: mergers & acquisitions, state of economy, management practices, fuel prices, rise (and fall) of (competing) no-frill upstarts etc. Eastern (part of the original big four with UA, AA, TWA) was one of the earliest (major) airlines to be founded in the U.S. (roots dating back to 1926 in Pitcairn Aviation and Eastern Air …

  20. Please excuse my "catchy" phrase/title...what I actually mean folks are surely flying it, but they do not probably have time to post any pictures here. I'm referring to the Aerosoft/Digital Aviation CRJ. I do not lately recall seeing any pictures of it, and, as for myself, I checked: it has been exactly 8 months and a week since my last flight with it (my last post for it was also my last flight with it). This is such a fantastic SIM...it surely begs to be flown more often. Personally, my problem is this: starting from scratch all over again, it took me today (non-stop) 8 hours to complete a 300nm flight from start-to-finish (making a diligent effort to go through the ful…

  22. [Note: If you're already aware of this incidence, I hope, you'll find a few new (interesting) tidbits in this account. If you are not, hope, you will find it interesting too, just as I did. To illustrate the account, here, I've taken the (original) PMDG Queen to the sky, something I've been meaning to do for a long time. If I recall correctly, I've not flown this SIM in more than 9 months...but it still flies nicely for me - except for a few nuances that I need to figure out. The "original" PMDG 747 will always remind us of one of the most significant milestones in our SIM, that, as far as I'm concerned, showed us, for the 1st time, that (complex) large airliner simulatio…
