Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.

Enjoying MSE V2's Photo Scenery for Hawaii (since there is no V3), which is still highly detailed and so rich in color saturation. The C210 is a great aircraft for my flight from Honolulu to where Jurassic Park was filmed, Kauai. John

The last half of my Wallowa to Boise real time flight, now over Idaho and into Boise guided by my GPS flight plan which auto vectored me onto final. P3DV4.5 has now been fully transferred from my hard drive to my SSD drive, which allows for full settings in P3DV4 except for road traffic and boat traffic, which I keep at 50 percent. My SSD is a 2TB Samsung T5 which also stores my Xplane11 photo scenery. John

  5. [Note: I've been collecting bits and pieces of this story for a while, so, here we go...finally...Hope you enjoy this account and the associated pictures...] The B707 is a classic jet plane that is greatly fascinating - in terms of its unique period appeal and also (pioneering) historical significance. The Boeing 707, developed from the earlier Model 367–80 (the so-called “Dash Eighty”), is/was a quad-jet transport, that for the first time, convincingly, showed to the world that long-range (trans-continental) passenger jet transport (now taken for granted) was not only consistently possible, but also was commercially viable. While accomplishing these significant mile…

In real life, between 1983 and 1995, I flew in and out of this airport many times, such a nice small airport, which I once even flew out of right after a heavy snowfall of a couple of feet, a winter wonderland it was. During heavy winters, when my parents or I drove up there, either together or when I was alone, the snow piled on I-80 in the last 30 miles before Donner Summit gave an eerie effect of being in a snow tunnel, with 20-30 feet of snowpack piled high on either side of I-80. It was quite a site to behold. The lakes nearby, around Truckee, would be like scenes from Dr. Zhivago and my brother and I would walk on the heavily frozen surface when I drove to v…

I love the Virginia scenery, I know why Virginia was so popular with early British settlers, it is due to similar greenery albeit a warmer and sunnier climate, it must have been heaven for the founding fathers of the US. For some years I worked out of an office in nearby Maryland, where I spent eight-ten weeks a year, the rest on the road for that office, or visiting with my folks in Napa California, when I worked for them as a LAN Hospitality Business Systems trainer. The company was named Cyntergy, its owner, still a good acquaintance today was a Penn State grad and created Cyntergy, first named "Strategic Technology Solutions" as an international outsourcing res…

  13. I have been getting a lot of inquiries about "is simwestSOCAL compatible with this airport or that airport?" Well, with around 180 airports in the scenery and with many developers each designing their own version there are just too many to give a definitive yes but I thought it best to give a few examples so you can judge for yourself if it works for you. This is using P3Dv4.5. First here is the default KSAN San Diego Airport with simwestSOCAL: Next we "boost" that with simwestSANDIEGO: Here is simwestSOCAL+ simwestSANDIEGO with orbx's KSAN: Here is simwest with LatinVFR's KSAN Next, I jus…

My fav bizjet now for P3DV4.5, enjoyable to program the FMS and fly high in the flight levels. Flight is out of Napa County where many Falcon tri jets visit during the golf tourneys and wine events, up and high over the beautiful Nevada basin and range desert at FL410, enroute to Dulles scheduled to land in 3.5 hours or so. RWDesign's Citation Mustang for Xplane11, I like this aircraft a lot and it will become my fav sim aircraft easily, because of its speed, the attention to detail the devs put into it, including virtual pax which are rare in our sims but add realism, and they look well. I have the Flight1 Mustang but this blows it away, I have the F1 Mustang for P3D, it is a good effort which I liked until Mr. Ed came along, lol...

I recall that Falcon-50 is a well-liked BizJet around here in the Forum, so I thought I might take advantage of the FlySimWare's SALE to get this aircraft for myself...since I currently don't own any (PW) Falcon-50. On first impression, this seems like an enjoyable SIM aircraft. What it lacks in visual fidelity, I think, it makes up in system fidelity. I wish to, but, have not yet got to explore all its features (such as "cold & dark" start-up procedure etc.), so please consider this a 1st account. It comes with a good 45-page manual, which starts out by saying, "We have animated almost every function throughout the cabin and virtual cockpit. With custom coding we hav…

This VSkylabs aircraft is another simple pleasure, easy on the wallet, for those of us who like slo mo flight and hand flying. It is unique, when you throttle down the engine and trim for about 30 knots, more or less, while the aircraft slowly descends it recharges the simulated electric engine, making flights of all day long possible, although an hour is enough for me in about any sim aircraft. I've downloaded all of the Vskylabs aircraft I've wanted, and I have enjoyed them because they put a lot of effort into reasonably priced projects, focusing on copters, gyrocopters, light sport and ultralight. For Xplane11 that is superb because Xplane11's autogen is so nic…

I found this nice free downloadable Challenger II made for Xplane 10 but which works fine in Xplane11. Has a 3d panel too, although the Challenger panel is fairly simple, being a Light Sport aircraft. The Challenger II can be found here--download version 1.3: https://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/26130-quad-city-challenger-ii/ The CFI who signed off on my Light Sport student license owned a Challenger, but sadly lost it after an engine failure. He and his passenger survived shaken but not hurt, but sadly when he landed on Lake Pleasant highway the port wing hit a road marker and crumpled. That said, that is one advantage of a dope and fabric aircr…
