The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

The tri pacer out of Napa County airport. An older pilot we knew, who talked to us in Napa County Airport's restaurant often, was a Tri Pacer owner. ATC comms were heard in the restaurant, and outside by the observation deck. We were amused when the Tower approved him for a taxiway takeoff, to the southwest, so he could have the best winds for takeoff. He was off the ground in the shortest distance I had ever seen, even shorter than the LSA's I have flown, except for trikes. He then climbed like a rocket, and did some touch n' goes.... Although this model has no autopilot, keyboard commands can be slaved to heading, altitude and gps hold and the aircraft handle…

I knew Harold Moskowite, owner of the small Moskowite corners dirt strip and once a Napa County Supervisor. He'd fly in from his dirt strip from his airport to attend Napa County meetings, and also mingle with the pilots in Jonesy's the famous Napa Airport steakhouse that pilots would fly into from all over. It was eventually replaced by another restaurant.

A while ago, after the New Year, I'd posted my 1st experience with this amazing "Synthetic ILS" tool that provides precise ILS-style guidance "For Every Runway At Every Airport in the Flight Simulator database". Recently, a newcomer (and a first time poster) had come across that old post of mine, and posed an inquiry here, and, thereby, revived my interest in it. Meanwhile, I was also thinking of trying it one more time for myself. Initially, I was attracted to this unique tool because it had appeared among the top 100 downloads (ranked 5th) for 2018 in the Flightsim.com Library (see file "aila_ils.zip" there). In fact, yesterday, at Flightsim.com, I noticed, there, an ed…

[I'm always drawn back to South America, in the SIM.] By any measure, especially, in terms of Geographical features, South America is one of the most impressive regions on earth. Its most distinguishing landmark is, of course, the (greatly fascinating) Andes Mountain range - the longest mountain range in the world (second in height only to the incomparable Himalayas) - and the cradle of many ancient cultures and the ruins of long-gone civilizations. For pilots flying south of the equator in this part of the world, the constant companion is this jagged and forbidding range of the Andes mountains, that parallel the western side of the continent. There is a joke that, n…

The Seminole, Carenado's answer to Justflight's great Duchess. Since I have the Duchess for Xplane11, I bought the Seminole so I would have a T-Tail piston twin for P3D. I like the look of the TTail pistons--they look like small airliners to me... John

The often missed Wallowa Valley comes alive in Photoreal scenery with the pushmepullu as a great aircraft sightseeing platform with its pilot's forward of the wing views.... Wallowa to Boise, gateway to the midwest, makes for a great pair of airports to fly between. John

Three legendary aircraft, the Citation, the Enstrom copter, and the Cessna 170 lastly shown flying over Roanoke VA..... I love the Manhattan flyover every time I do it, reminds me of my one and only visit in '99 when I was working at JFK airport installing and teaching business systems at the then JFK Hilton. On one day off, me and my business colleagues took a taxi to Manhattan, splitting the cost. Then we went to the Art Museum on central park. They wanted to go bar hopping, I wanted to visit the World Trade Center (little did I know back then its fate). I got to stand atop the WTC, on a wildly windy and clear day, I could see to JFK, to Connecticut, to Jersey, al…

My first flight was in a Lockheed Electra PSA turboprop, my Mom told me her first flight was in a Piper Cub when she was a small girl. She actually had a slight fear of flying because on her next flight alone, in the 70's, the UAL DC10 Captain came on the horn and said "Welcome to our maiden voyage". I knew this to be true because seeing her outbound aircraft to Chicago, where we were both born, it was quite shiny and free of exhaust stains. She told me she stared at every rivet and also did not know the wings flexed in flight, which added to her fear. My Dad, brothers and I, frequent fliers, laughed and laughed at her story. My Mom later would not fly after that…
