Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I took out the Aerosoft DC-8 on a flight with a desire to connect (and test) the two new airports that I'd purchased a week or so ago...((i) Orbx Ketchikan, Alaska, (PAKT) and (ii) LatinVFR San Juan, Puerto Rico, (TJSJ)). I've been meaning to fly this DC-8 ever since I'd last done (only) one previous flight with it long while ago. The chosen color, here, is Atlas Air Cargo, beautifully and expertly repainted by "thibodba" from around here. It happened to catch my attention in the Library while looking for a suitable livery to match this excellent SIM, for this intended flight (Cargo and long distance...both a bit unusual for me....🙂...)... Atlas Air (with its likeabl…

Not the plastic surgery kind..the painting planes in flightsim kind...hehe. This is some of the detailed work that goes into paints....(one's having all these items) Starting with one of the hardest things a painter has to deal with..... painting TEXT near the tip of the nose. With KLM....you have a double-whammy because they paint A330-300 under the nose cone and the last letters of the reg (in my case KF) above the cockpit. To get a good idea of what painters have to deal with painting on a 2d map that gets wrapped around a 3d model...in this case a cylindrical tube that tapers at the end (i.e. nose)...try this: Get a balloon and a Sharp…

Early morning departure from Mumbai, although it's a bit brighter by the time we've got her fired up and been given clearance. A busy morning, although we're the biggest in the queue.... ... we still have to wait our turn! Climbing away We will not manage to out run the Sun. Only Concorde could do that in the civilian world. Settled well into the cruise, here we are over Iran (I'm assuming we can overfly Iran these days? Anyhow, off to the right is Mount Damavand, and beyond is the Caspian Sea. A bit more sightseeing, but the cloud cover made it a little disappointing: In the …

Real life was being a bit of a swine today, so once things had calmed down I went for a brief sortie from one of my bucket list places:- Princess Juliana Airport, Sint Maarten. I flew out to Saba Island, landed, then flew back to Grand Case, Saint Martin. I should have taken more screenshots, but I just wanted to escape to the virtual skies. Here's the Skymaster all safe, sound and warm after the flight. Seems like I need to see if there an upgrade for TFFG - according to Google maps, all the light aircraft are parked on hardstanding..

I've successfully painted the old American bare metal liveries in the past....both before and after the advent of PBR textures..... One recent example.... Although challenging.....once you understand the interaction with the RED channel in PBR-speak...you can play with it until you get a very satisfying "metal" effect. The new American Airlines' silver "mica" paint however is a completely new technique to achieve the proper effect. I'm currently repainting the new Aerosoft A330. After trying many flat paint variants....I was never completely satisfied with outcome in the sim...even if I felt I nailed the color (which you never can with a meta…

I believe some Fedex cargo departing Bengaluru goes to Mumbai, so here we are Taxiing out. There's a bit of haze and overcast, but not much of a factor seeing as we're IFR anyway (always?) Took the picture too soon; before the gear swing. ..and after gear retraction d'oh! Turning on to course. You can tell I've not got autoflight engaged.. :) Soon be above all this - a better rate of climb had been established by this point At cruise altitude, the Indian coastline can be seen at the horizon. Descending towards Mumbai. We'll be using the I…

The nVidia SHARPENING filter, should win some kind of optics award...for this one feature has done more than practically anything else to date, to give clear, precise optics...that truly mimic the real world. Simply beyond belief! The following snaps are having lifted off from KRDM, out and over Orbx's Oregon TE HD...headed East, for Ottawa, Canada. Beautiful morning sun, around 8:30 am.... up..up, and away...

Hope you enjoy this story along with the images of an aircraft (BAe-146/Avro-RJ) that has always caught my fancy since my early days of SIM. QW has nicely simulated this very unique aircraft (QW's 2nd output after B757), which is quite enjoyable to fly in our SIM. And, for me, it has been nearly 10 months since I last flew this plane, so, today, I wished to fly it one more time before the year comes to an end...! The Avro BAe/RJ aircraft was expressly created with "short-field performance" in mind. To that end, a twin-engine configuration could not be chosen, because no manufacturer was producing a 13,000-lbf-thrust-class high-bypass ratio turbofan engine, at that time. S…

In my earlier post/flight, I'd landed on the Ascension island airport in the (QW) RJ85, (with default FSX scenery). Here, I do my due diligence, aided by pointer from (member) Mark (HighBypass) and add-on scenery created by Carlyle Sharpe, to continue my journey from Ascension (FHAW) to St Helena (FHSH). This flight afforded me an opportunity to have the honor of a (virtual) touchdown on (Napoleon's) St. Helena island (please note: St Helena Airport/Runway construction post-dates FSX, so no Rwy seen on default FSX!). "St Helena Longwood-Napoleon House" is a mansion in the island which was the final residence of Napoleon, during his exile on the island, from 10 December 18…

Cessna C402/C404 images have appeared several times in this Screenshots Forum....let's just say these (twin-engined) Cessna aircraft constitute an interesting series of Cessna planes. The topic of my post, here, is Cessna C404 Titan (I acquired the SIM today, just a few hours ago, from Alabeo SALE). The Cessna 404 Titan derived from Cessna 402, first flew on 26 February 1975. It was produced in three variants (1) Ambassador for Pax (2) Courier for convertible Combi and (3) Freighter for Cargo. Just under 400 units were manufactured during a short 6 year span of production. And, about the state of Wyoming: I noticed today that I'd purchased this MSE scenery a long whi…
