Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

[Note: This post is triggered by my (long-time and somewhat familiar) interest in this airline re-kindled by a "Yellow" (PMDG 737) TUIfly repaint recently posted, here, by Steve D. However, I'm not using that repaint here. But, who knows, a year from today, some of us maybe flying our (favorite) PMDG planes over that beautiful (and worldwide) MFS scenery...(TBD)!] Anyway, now, back to TUIfly: With its dramatic (and numerous) livery colors, TUIfly is quite remarkable! I was always aware of the striking "yellow" and "blue", but, as I looked more, I was fascinated by the impressive (and diverse) range of its color-patterns. But, first, a bit about this interesting airli…

  6. I only painted a few iFly passenger 747s (most of which @P_7878 showcased in previous posts...thank you!) However... sadly, iFly's marketing methodology leaves many simmers on previous platforms oblivious to all the great planes they have for FSX and even FS2004!!! I'd love to paint for all platforms, but just painting for one is hard enough....LoL. I moved to P3D long ago...and have really painted exclusively in that sim ever since. Not even sure how many even know that iFly came out with a 747BCF model for P3d a while back and asked me to help paint a "few" liveries....hehe.....well...."few" is a relative term as you know...and when the smoke cleared..…

  7. Oh well, at least most of the shots are OK, and I could still land the jet! Preparing to depart in the wee hours at Nairobi. Positive Rate! (FSX NOTAM, I may pester Sky Sim with another email regarding the loss of some undercarriage door animations..) Love this one of the rising sun. Later in the flight - nice winglet shadow on the fuselage. Passing Lake Turkana. Khartoum. Feet wet over the Mediterranean. I think the mountain ranges in the distance are in northern Greece and Albania. Mount Etna, Sicily near the horizon, above the port wing. …

  10. I purchased this little gem last night. It was pretty much a mandatory purchase because I've been flying a real musketeer with my best friend around MN. Anyway this C23 Sundowner is for XP11.40 from Leading Edge Simulations (modeler/texturer from the company that did the TBM900). This plane differs a little from the one I fly. The engine in the C23 is a carbureted 180 HP, and the panel is a little more basic than what I'm used to in the real musketeer. Anyway, the model is really sharp and clean, the textures excellent. The sounds....well sounds much like a real Sundowner! For avionics they are a little limited but you've got a basic VOR indicator and ADF, alon…

Grew tired of the default sun, moon and night sky in general. Applied a few changes. Since I have Rex Direct Textures I chose a nice blazing sun. Then updated the night sky textures with the below items from Flight Sim Jewels. HD moon, Milky Way, Aurora Borealis and Stars. https://www.flight-sim-jewels.com/night-sky-hd/ Also upped the sizing in the sun/moon config file. C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\suneffect.cfg [general] SunSize=2896 MoonSize=3010 And finally enabled cockpit lens flare which is much more subtle in P4D than FSX (yes not realistic but I like the subtle look). Thanks to the magic of the sim, my Republic Seabee was transported to Anguilla in the Caribbean Taking off from Wallblake, sorry, Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport. Leaving Anguilla behind we'll be overflying Saint Martin. There's a bit of drizzle, but I don't think it will bother the cruise passengers too much! Buzzing the field at Grand Case Passing over Philipsburg with the Port of St. Maarten at about 10 o'clock off the nose. Bound for Saba Island. Time for a coffee... Or several beers after the landing: It wasn't pretty, but a cursory inspection revealed that the landing gear was still attac…

Today, I went on bit of a spree to collect additional liveries for my recent acquisition, iFly B747-400, (and then installed those repaints, effortlessly, I must say, via the Config tool) - all such activity, always, a fun exercise! I'd earlier posted an account of the flight (Auckland to Nadi), my very first flight, with this SIM, in the Air Pacific livery. Here, instead, find a collection of twelve B747 airline liveries (including a few not-so-frequently-seen). I've also included many well-known airlines in the mix. The less than well-known (and less than high-profile) Airline liveries are always intriguing and naturally beg some questions such as (a) Are these Airlines…

  14. I'm just flabbergasted! I have been for the last half hour since posting these shots...testing for 'repeat ability' of ANY of the elements going into the production of each flight path mile. None! I mean, this is for real! You can actually plan a VFR or...IFR flight over at least Portugal (I haven't left the country yet...) and see exactly what you should see in real life. Towns, cities, villas, exact roadway through them....I mean, I have just been slack jawed, that this is REALLY what's there...OSM data galore! This absolutely rivals Orbx's TE series. If the viewer gets all the programs and files that are happening here...I assure you...nobody will be disappoint…

Quite the nice combo. 🙂 As a painter....seeing an airline go out on a limb and picking a questionable main color is always intriguing. When Air Canada decided to base their main color on what would become an endless avenue of quips about "toothpaste" and "Mints" in the aviation world, I initially treated it with the same level of skepticism and ridicule.... Then...the more I saw it...the more it grew on me....then I painted it. 🙂 May be one of my favorite paints 🙂

I have no idea when it will be released, but they released the paint kit to the Beta Team painters (and I happen to be one) 🙂 This one will be ready for your hangar when they release it (Trust me...I have no clue when that will be...I'm not on the team that has that info...and even if I were...you know I can't tell ya!) 🙂

Painting in general, you can go to an insane level of detail (if you're crazy enough) Now.....don't let that statement make you think I'm the only crazy one around here...because when it comes to going to a level of detail way beyond what "normal" people would in day-to-day situations...let's talk about you simmers (yeah I'm one too...but in "painter" mode lately more than "simmer") Raise your hand if you use : Add-on aircraft vs only aircraft included in flightsim? After-market scenery? After-market airport(s)? After-market weather program? After-market shaders? After-market sounds? After-market flight planner? Aft…

  23. Just pottering about over the Falkland islands in one of their aircraft (Falkland Islands Govt. Air Service). One RMI is picking up the NDB at Stanley, the other is pointing to the beacon at Mount Pleasant. I do like this livery although the colours seem more vibrant in photos of the real planes. I asked the question regarding the colurs (alpha channel?) in the main FSX forum, but neglected to post a screenshot. However, the flying Land Rover still looks great droning over the desolate moorland. Anyhow, the flight was quite enjoyable and relaxing until the sim crashed with no warning. I was trying to look for any and all airstrips in the scenery (Falk…
