The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Didn't complete the flight (VFR from Lands End to Edinburgh, meandering up the UK) as real life got in the way - the mood had gone so I didn't even save it to finish later. Up to then it was a nice relaxed sim session, pottering about in the Islander. She was nicely trimmed out in the cruise, but I did activate the autopilot later to get a bew.

Don't need much fuel for this trip, about 35k pounds to haul 50 tons. Taxiing out to RWY02 at EGCN. Feet wet off the coast of England. Descending towards Belgium Brussels airport just visible in the gap in the clouds above the window lever A bit hazy down here, on vectors for a visual to RWY5L RWY5L beckons. You can't quite see it, but there was another plane about to take off from 5R. Touchdown! View from the tower. Crossing 5R on the way to the cargo ramp. Nice evening. Right! Get the kettle on! Enjoy.

Hi all, when flying airliners, I pretty much only fly routes that are operated in real life with the accurate aircraft, time of day etc. So every once and a while an unusual route and or route/aircraft combination will pop up on flightaware that gives me something unusual to fly. In this case, it involves my home airport, Halifax/YHZ so I was all over it. Air Canada has been operating a few rescue flights to Casablanca and one to Barcelona, all originating in YHZ (a stopover from YYZ). As I understand it, this is for crew hour purposes so they don't have to remain at the outstation overnight. So with that in mind, I flew ACA7052, a YHZ-BCN positioning flight for …

[Note: This post (including the leisurely flight) was fun and a bit of (needed) diversion from the doldrums...] First of all, while the "cylindrical" shaped aeroplane fuselages are the norm, that we're well used to, the "square" shaped airframes such as from Short aircraft are quite unmistakable, and have always held my personal fascination (Do 228 also comes to mind). One of the reasons this shape works for these aircraft is because their cabins are/were unpressurized (as opposed to their pressurized counterparts which would dictate the conventional circular shape). The 30-passenger S330 was developed from Short's earlier Skyvan STOL utility transport (retaining the…

[Note: The subject (SIM) aircraft, for this post, is one of my bargain (Carenado) pick-ups from yesterday (I'd posted about the Carenado AC690 earlier).] The Rocky Mountain Range (stretching from Canada in the north, and all the way to Mexico in the south) is fascinating...whether overflying it or (especially) visiting on the ground. I have visited the Rockies, in Colorado, where I had the chance to witness these spectacular mountains up close... (In the heart of Colorado Rockies) for a (RL) flight from Aspen (KASE) to Denver (KDEN), the time is about 1 hour. The actual time spent in the air is (30-40) minutes. The flight distance is 125 miles. The flight, takes…

Paro - Kathmandu Adventure. VQPR - VNKT I continue testing the use of modern avionics on a classic airliner. Now fly in difficult high-altitude mountains area. In addition to the GTN750, an improved PDCS now works. The modern firmware of the old device already allows me to even maintain a descend profile with deviations, but there are still many tests ahead. 🙂 So, we fly to Kathmandu and make a landing on RW20 with a short circle.

I decided to pick up a couple of (or was it 3?) (SIM) aircraft (no venturing out needed!) from Carenado's SALE...(at ~$12 each, I think it might be worth it). And, even if you're not into Carenado, you may just take a look...to see if you like anything over there (props or/and jets - at least you'll have plenty of window-shopping for sure...)! So, please find below, a set of images of Carenado's Aero Commander 690B roaming in and around NZQN (Queenstown, NZ). BTW, this plane caught my attention because of my past familiarity with Milton Shupe's nice (FW) model, which has been always a nice (SIM) aircraft. This Australian registered (VH-NYD) Aero Commander 690 be…

This a collection of screen grabs, kind randon areas but they did interest me 🙂 This is the animated doc @ NZMF (Orbx). This next was an emergency landing where I just had to take a pic of the highly detailed autogen (gotta love the A2A stuff - if you don't maintain things are going to fail). A quaint NZ airport in Orbx NZ with the A2A C182 Same airport but this time with the Ant Tiger Moth Pro. Perspective... And the Moth Pro in the air. Perspective A custom flight plan built with the GTN 750, was a practice at creating an airport waypoint and then dragging around the flight plan route line in the GTN.

I just discovered, to me, quite an amazing 'reality and realism' coming from P3D 4.4, with the water setting to full Ultra... ....here I was coming out of the Detroit River, and into Lake Erie, with waves about 1.5 meters. Ok...I was at a nice 15 knots fast cruise, when as I headed out into the lake proper, all of a sudden, my yacht's bow, started to leave the water, and you could feel/hear, the hard wave impact with Accu-Feel. It was amazing...that I had to drop to 9 knots, to no longer slam the bow into the waves that were about now, 2.5 meters! So...the oceans and lakes are dynamically 'alive' in wave height and realism, if driven by weather programs...wow! …

Goodness, I hadn't posted so much in a long while 😁 ! Again some of the good flights I had with P3D to show that one can get a lovely scenery experience with this sim East coast of the US (Not far from DC I think - Milviz 732 and OLC NA+Vector) Somewhere in Utah Final on KTNP (SoCal). These are not Fs20 clouds but still... Leaving KTNP (TwentyNine Palms scenery with the Lotus L-39) Between LA and Las Vegas Northern Italy at dawn
