The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

[Note: When one doesn't recall, if one has flown a favorite (SIM) aircraft, in several months, it's probably a good idea to fly it again...So, here, I'm flying, the Carenado Saab-340 (SF34), probably for the 2nd time. Please note, this SIM's FMS and systems etc., being basic, I'm focusing, here, on the aesthetics of this aircraft, rather than the fidelity of simulation. Just about like everyone else, who owns this, I would love for this to, at least, be given a better FMS, even if not of the same caliber, as what PMDG had given us for JS-41 (or MJC has given us for Dash8). This (otherwise pleasing) Saab's flightdeck, reminds me, in appearance, of the (PMDG) JS-41, which, …

I just felt inspired to try out a what-if scheme today. Took me a good few hours, but some of the repainters would have probably dashed it off a lot quicker. Anyhow here she is:-

This is part 2, as I want to share 24 pics... :) Just wanted to share the beauty of this model. This plane is the only reason I haven't touched P3D for more then a year (and also due to XP11 great rendering engine, FDE, and open community for scenery) All liveries have been painted by myself using the IXEG paintkit. But with some modifications with regards to vstab, wings/pylons colors, shadows, dirt and engine spinner (on some models). Note that these screenshots are 3440 pixels by 1440. So click on them and choose full image to get the best idea of how they appear in XP11.

Finally got this sim running....and TrackIR operational yay! It's sad that I can fly a hi-tacan approach but not know how to use the weapons lol. I have to work on that. Anyway, departing Nellis off to the NW (I think its called Dreamland), a little ACM, then direct LSV, outbound and PT for HI TACAN RWY 03R. I seriously had a nice green AoA and approach was awesome...touchdown fine. And apparently, I do not have what it takes....to stop on the runway HAHAHA. route by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-1 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-3 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-4 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-6 by Ryan …

[Note: This post was triggered by a couple of (seemingly un-related) items this past week (1) A new (FlightSim) Library file of a fictional/what-if Delta (Convair 580) repaint, caught my attention (2) And, I've been lately re-reading Tintin's...🙂...Moon Rocket Adventures. The Belgian cartoonist Hergé's two books on "Moon" are quite remarkable and entertaining, in its (vivid) details and imagination, considering, he wrote/drew them (nearly) 2 decades before man actually landed on the moon! BTW, Hergé also knew how to (quite accurately and pleasingly) sketch 727/707 etc., and a few of his books have bits of aviation in them (e.g. Flight 714 to Sydney).] Back to the pos…

Whilst some paintkits are beyond me as is drawing any new shapes on planes for some reason, I can manage to change existing colours and add text & stickers courtesy of DXTbmp and paint.net So, meet "Tiny Terror!" Just on a quick jolly from Liverpool to Blackpool All cleaned up and ready to fly up the Mersey Estuary out to the west coast, then on up to Blackpool. The wooded area above the horizontal stabilator with the caravan site to the right of it in the picture was a former airsoft site where I used to play. A collection of photos I took while visiting some beautiful parts of the planet during week 1 with the new sim. Wasn't really out to take pics, but got some along the way while testing. I am really liking how P3D v5 looks so far. Postcards are from: Smoky Mountains at sunset, a desert somewhere(!), New Zealand (Flightbeam), Glacier National Park, the Alps, Tenerife (Digital Design) and Gibraltar (with one of Henrik's ships in the foreground). Except where noted, the scenery is just some stuff I've built in previous years, now looking prettier than in the past thanks to P3D's new atmospherics and water. Happy flying all. 🙂

I have all the usual Orbx suspects...Global, Buildings HD, Trees HD, My Traffic Pro 54c and the sim cranked wide open. With all of that, I am getting a mean average of 18-30 locked. Depending on what's happening, where I am panning, like if you want to see what your CPU/GPU can put out...have all of the above installed, and fly an approach over the Greater Detroit Area, to a landing at KDTW Fly at 2,200 feet over all that massive to the horizon, autogen and Scenery Complexity,at full right! Crank EVERY graphic element to full right...including Shadows...and hit all the sub-boxes as I have..and for a i7-975 Extreme (four core) pushing stuff to a EVGA GTX1070 8GB...I'm…

Firstly a big Thank You to Iris Simulations for their recent giveaway. Secondly a quote attributed to Andy Warhol: "You need to let the little things that would ordinarily bore you suddenly thrill you." I guess that's why there's a BD-5 variant with a turbine instead of a piston engine! Iris simulations have IMHO produced a great rendition of the dinky little aerobatic jet in both piston and jet versions (of course!) and several paint schemes. The textures and details look good and the instruments are very clear. The altimeter is so smooth too, as are the other gauges, but the altimeter is one of the largest gauges present in the basic, but easy to underst…

For my earlier post, while I was looking for the Flying Tigers Line liveries, in the Library, I'd come across an interesting B767 repaint. Although, I don't find any evidence that Flying Tigers Line ever flew any B767, here is a collection of images of a B767-300ER (PW Winglet model) in the color of Flying Tigers Cargo. The livery, I'd also made a reference to, earlier, is the one, with two thick (and bold) colored bands across the mid-fuselage plus other textual imprints... [And, no, I'm not heading to North Pole here...🙂...the flightplan uploaded into the B767 FMS, is for (PHNL->KSFO). So, please find, below, the (old-gold) LVLD B767...lifting off from the same …

[Note: This post has been a WIP for me, for some time, but, I'd to scale down my ambitions here, life and the "crisis" got in the way. Anyway, for (some) interesting tidbits, if you wish, please read the text, or just jump to the Screenshots below...] First of all, whenever, someone, brings up an image of a B707, here, it always catches my attention. B707 is not only the classic, quintessential quad-jet, but was also a phenomenal business-success, proven by numerous airlines, world-wide...So, it has rightly achieved a "legendary" status in the annals of (commercial) aviation. By no means, it was the first commercial jetliner in service (it was the De Havilland Comet)…

I bought P3D v5 last week, a couple days after RTM. Since then..it been a blast of discovery and sheer enjoyment. Where I use to daily haunt the MSFS20 forum, honestly, I haven't even viewed in days. I am having a blast with P3D v5, and am even 're-discovering' Orbx products, in that I had ALWAYS thought how 'synthetic' all the land class scenery looked since FSX RTM. This is the first flight simulator platform, that has removed that 'shiny' cartoonish rendering of landclass etc. As I flew from KOAK to KLAS yesterday over Orbx titles...I was amazed in how life-like the color pallets were now...the (so hard to put into words..) the 'feel'...the 'look' of the terrain a…

Would have to be hand's down, the Quest Kodiak Amphibian. Powerful climber, turbo-prop, a true STOL aircraft, and one plane, can take you anywhere in the world...from a match-stick plowed runway in 3rd world countries, to the finest groomed runways around. This is the most popular aircraft for many charity and missionary work...for it can by the third flap setting drop like a stone, to get into short narrow valleys in the mountains, jungles, and flys like a dream: Whether in P3D or XPlane...this will be the one most often taken up..:)
