The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I wanna wrap myself in these clouds when I go to bed tonight. trueSKY clouds are nothing short of amazing and it's what I've been waiting for to come to any of our sims for a long time. I can only emphasize how much of an understatement the initial trailer of the sim was. I was disappointed back then but playing with the new atmospherics myself is dropping mouth-watering results. Can't wait to see what Active Sky will be able to do with trueSKY. This is vanilla P3D v5. Sliders all the way to the right with a few exceptions for shadow settings. VRAM was rather stable at 4.1 to 4.3 GB, no matter how many clouds. FPS stayed around 80 for the most part with slight outlie…

Sure is expense to maintain two sims, though. Just set up P3D V5 and picked up Socal/Norcal TrueEarth Orbx scenery and man, I love me some sims right now.

Apologies to Ultravox and Midge Ure I tried out a long range flight with the Flight1 Islander today. I wish I'd taken more screenshots as I was able to go from Gatwick to Vienna with only minor interruptions IRL - thankfully the Islander has an autopilot and a GPS (nice rendition of the Bendix King KLN 90b).The weather was good and the sim behaved - no OOM dings despite taking off from UK2000 Gatwick and using VFR Real photoscenery in the UK. Lovley freeware LOWW too. Anyway, I was quite surprised to see that upon reaching Vienna the fuel tanks were still approx.1/3 full (see gauge at top right of screen). Surprising because the standard range for the BN-2 appea…

It's been a while, but I do intend continuing to fly to the destinations on the 1969 London to Sydney Air Race in the type which won the race - the Flying Land Rover, the BN-2 Islander. I decided to use some external shots of the Islander to show off Flight1's version to better capture some of the aerial shots, even if the paintjob isn't the right one - I'm not pressurising the painter to come up with the goods, I'm not that kind of person! Taxiing out on a nice Austrian morning. Positive Rate! .. Gear U.... eh? Where's the gear handle? oops look where I'm going! Aviate, kick myself for lack of Navigating, think of story to Communicate to ATC …

With COVID-19 around and travel restrictions in effect across Europe, I´m badly longing for Greece. So until then, here´s Skiathos and Olympic Airways Dash 8-100.

Hi Folks, OK, so there have been lots of good deals around what with Covid-19 and the generosity of developers and shops. The IRIS Simulations offer in particular was really good, all planes for free. That said mostly are fairly older releases not catering for an x64 P3D, nothing like a challange though and I'm happy to say I've the Jabiru 160~170, Venture MG.1, CT-4F Akala and the Grobs all working just fine in P3Dv4.5 HF3 and all with working sound and installed totally via the XML add-on method. Getting sound working when installed via the xml method was the most problematic. Doug Dawson's latest x64 sound gauge, a Panel.cfg mod, sound.ini mods…

To follow up on my earlier F27 post, below, is a (colorful) selection of 20 (JF) F-27 liveries from airlines around the world...(along with a bit of notes on each). You only have to check the "Operators" list on the F27's Wiki, to appreciate how widespread, its deployment was, in every corner of the world...from Australia to Somalia! For those, who had recollected some memories, here, of having been (sometimes in the past) on board this aircraft, for an actual flight, I've included a couple of liveries, that I could find, e.g. for Air UK and Boanaza. Regarding USAir, I noticed, Piedmont's F27s, after acquisition, might have gone to USAir (see below), but, I could not find…

[Note: There was a comment on my (earlier) An-24 post that reminded me about the (contemporary, but a few years ahead of An-24) Fokker-27 also being an (iconic) favorite twin turboprop for some of us, so, here we go...] Just Flight has a simulation of the F-27 Friendship, which I'd purchased, during one of their ("multiple"-for-the-price-of one) or some such Sale. I do like to fly this SIM once in a while. Although, the majority of JF's (own) products, in their early times, were on the "Lite" side, they have since made great strides, in recent years, and some of their latest products can match the best of our expectations from the SIM. Also, if you ask me, JF provide…

I rarely fly these kinds of things but there is a neat little experimental mod to the ASK21, containing a small electric motor. It's capable of self launching so that's what I did. With all the recent products being offered for free I told myself to stop procrastinating and go and get Flight Sim Jewel's freeware Hawaii together with George Keogh's airports. I'd put it off until now due to the size and multiple parts involved. In the end it was relatively painless to get the stuff installed so I wish I'd done it sooner! So, anyway. I decided to VFR around the islands in the good old Cessna 337 Skymaster a la Carenado. I took off from Princeville airport on Kauai with the idea being to fly around the island's shore and then progressing further down the island chain, flying around each island (I missed a couple out!) and landing when I had to. I w…

After finding and reading this Mudspike article, I got an inspiration to finally try to put the X-Plane 11's default X-15A through its paces. Slung under the wing of a B-52 launch aircraft, flying at 45000 ft over Tonopah, Nevada. All set and ready to go. Target for today: to get high. Preferably up to 50 miles or more. Edwards AFB is somewhere there in front of us, about 180 nautical miles away. Off we go! After drop, light up that XLR-11 rocket engine in the back and start our climb. Pulling up to about 50 degrees pitch up attitude while the engine is quickly burning through its limited fuel supply. After engine is out, we continue coasting up …

[Note: This post is a quick mixture of a Polish LOT Airline livery upload, that I caught my attention, today, in the Library, and my last week's SimMarket (Freeware) pick-up of St Petersburg Airport (ULLI), that I'd not installed till today - certainly a good find, especially for me, who had, so far, pretty much, only the Moscow Airport scenery...in this very large country to fly....] The city of St. Petersburg had my fancy, since, a long long time ago, as the (somewhat "depressing") setting for the characters (and crimes), (so marvelously) portrayed in Fyodor Dostoevsky's classic (and a bit disturbing) novel "Crime and Punishment", which book I recall, I had (finall…
