The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Not quite pushing the envelope, but still an interesting experiment for me anyway. Distance from Walvis Bay, Namibia to St. Helena according to google is 1216 nautical miles. Walvis Bay is a stop off point used by SAA Airlink when flying to St. Helena with their Embraer 195. St. Helena is one of those islands near that well known navigational waypoint MMFW (miles & miles of F@@@ water..). You may get to go around at the airport but it's doubtful you get to go back to the origin of your flight! Range of a Piaggio P180 Avanti is 1510 NM. Ok let's go then. I've not flown Hammer 66 for some time!! Dawn over FYWB. Goodbye Namibia. …

Holy smokes this combo will be good in the near future. (think: P3D v 5.5). Still has some bugs to be ironed out...but despite that, I think Truesky is one of the missing pieces in this sim.

Hi folks, here are some impressions of a flight from Krasnoyarsk-Cheremshanka to Podkamennaya Tunguska with an Antonov An-28 along River Yenisey. The next picture shows the two Krasnoyarsk airports: Cheremshanka, mostly for small aviation, to the left; and Yemelyanovo International Airport to the right: Most time of the flight we follow river Yenisey. At final approach to Podkamennaya Tunguska. This airport is named after the river of the same name, that flows into river Yenisey just at the opposite riverside. It's the very same river where 1908 the Tunguska meteorite impact occured. Landed! N…

When, I lost use of my PMDG (BAe) JS-41, I also lost use of one of my most well-loved (SIM) aircraft...I recall, in FSX, making many (diligent full start-up to shut-down) flights with it (by the book, I mean, by the "Tutorial"...🙂..!). It still flies in my FSX-SE, but, due to some reason, it becomes a slide-show, at times, (whereas, in contrast, and surprisingly, my (good old) PMDG MD-11, gives me no trouble - even I had posted a couple of times about it!). And, BTW, this gem-of-a-SIM (pmdgJS41), unfortunately, remains only for FSX still, I think. With the duo of pmdgJS41 and mjcQ400, if one is into turboprops, one would be pretty much well-set, I would think...Anyway...b…

I'm bit of a fan of old and classic airline liveries, as, certainly, many folks, also, here, are...and, we know, airlines, do change their colors, though infrequently, to new ones, sometimes, much to the chagrin of followers and enthusiasts, including some diehard fans right here in this forum...🙂...The (recent) livery changes by Lufthansa and Air Canada, are two great examples. A quick search today revealed several comments and expressions of frustration - referring, of course, to the latest liveries of these two Airlines...Oh well...we cannot (usually) control the corporate decision-making process and the associated business motivations...of these Airlines...(and, so, a…

Even in the chaos, cargo flights continue This one is from KMIA to SUMU Uruguay. Pushing back. Taxiing out. Positive Rate! FSX NOTAM, I wish Sky Simulations would fix the gear door animations which appear to be missing in V2.2, but they told me that they couldn't reproduce the fault Turning on to an initial course and heading towards the ocean. Bye bye, Miami! Over Cuba Initial cruise altitude. FL350 I think. Later in the trip we'll head on up to FL410 when most of the fuel's been burned. I believe the mountain over the port wing is Pico Cristobal Colon, Colomb…

Relating to the video from Rob Ainscough showing a black ocean as the "new water and waves" in P3Dv5 Beta https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/572880-p3d-v5-beta-orbx-socal-and-norcal-and-waterwaves/ I want to present the comparison to water and waves in FSX. Enjoy! And yes, it's default. No addons (besides the sceneries), shaders or paint / photoshop used 🙂

These pics are just for the sake of reference, so you can see what you can (still) do if you have an old jalopy for a pc. Pics are straight out of the sim, no editing, sharpening, etc. Flight was from Borlange Airport to Kiruna airport in Sweden. Active Sky Weather matched the real world weather conditions perfectly. Addons: Flight 1 Citation Mustang Active Sky Rex Environment Force Orbx Borlange Airport Orbx Kiruna Airport Orbx all global and Europe base products Framerates were between an (to me) acceptable 18-25 fps. Did dip a few times i…

The repeating landclass textures in Asia had made me give up flying in the region (apart from Australia to Hong Kong, for which I have good photo scenery). Then I discovered Gibson Sceneries' North East China and China - Hong Kong to Shanghai v2 payware. The product is described as "economical real scenery for en-route flying above medium altitudes", so above FL100 is where it starts to look good. Now, it might only be LOD12, however, for ~25 GB of disk space (I deleted the duplicate LOD 11 that came with it), I now have the whole eastern part of China. It's made a big enough difference to me that I'm now interested in buying some mainland China payware airports.…
