The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  2. [After my (recent) adventures into Antarctica and South Pole, using our SIM and two wonderful aircraft/scenery add-ons,....naturally, my mind drifted to the other final frontier on our planet...the North Pole. As I continued to explore, I realized, North Pole, is also equally amazing in its own right - besides just being famous as the site of Kris Kringle's (Toy) industries..🙂...!] Unlike Antarctica/South Pole, there’s no land (underneath) at the North Pole! North Pole is basically (all) a pack of floating, drifting, (intermittently) thinning and thickening sea ice in the middle of the Arctic Ocean - roughly 4 million sq miles of area (same as that of U.S.)! The thic…

The MD 530F is one of my all time favourite helicopters and a blast to fly in real life, it's an extremely agile and thrilling machine! This morning I decided to take my brand new Milviz MD 530F around PILOT'S new Leicestershire Aero Club in the East Midlands. Leicestershire Aero Club is a small GA airfield just east of the city of Leicester. The airfield dates back to 1942 when the RAF first used it. There is a training centre for pilots at the airfield, my MD 530F is waiting for me in the hangar that houses all the helicopters of a training school. Some old B & W photos in the reception area show the airfield in much earl…

  15. No matter how we search for the "most dangerous" airports in the world, these two airport names will appear consistently on all lists...then if we narrow down the search further to the "shortest and most dangerous" airports...we'll be guaranteed to have Lukla and Courchevel at very top of the lists. And, just for reference, here, below, are the History Channel's 10 most most "Extreme" Airports: 10. KSAN - San Diego, CA. 9. LPMA - Madeira, Portugal. 8. KEGE - Vail, CO. 7. LFLJ - Courchevel, France. 6. VHHH - Hong Kong Kai Tak. 5. LXGB - Gibraltar. 4. TNCM - St. Maarten, Netherlands Antilles. 3. TFFJ - St. Barth's. 2. MHTG - Tegucigalpa, Honduras. 1. …

Finally, I got my Antarctic preparations done and, today, I completed the (virtual) flight to this (icy) continent...Here, I continue from my previous post to this Part II using the same nice (Thibodba57's) Lynden Air Cargo (L-100-30J) livery. Here are the few things I did, in advance: First of all, I planned to land on the NZIR Ice Runway at McMurdo (in RL, NZIR/McMurdo does accept wheeled aircraft during the early part of each Antarctic visit season). "The annual sea-ice runway for wheeled aircraft is constructed at the start of each season and is used until early December when the sea ice begins to break up". Currently, it's to be noted, however, that, with…

  23. [Here, I wrap up my Antarctic adventure...] Now that I've safely arrived at the McMurdo's Ice Runway in the comfort of my Hercules...🙂....it's time to get real and reflect a bit on the (RL) dangers of a flight into Antarctica! While the (RL) Antarctic pilot takes a last look back at Christchurch (or Punta Arenas), as the case maybe, and climbs up and heads "south“, it is the last look at civilization, greenery and vegetation he/she will see for months. Over the vast Southern Ocean, the flight will soon enter a PNR (or point-of-no-return) phase, after which the flight must be continued come hell or high water, as they say it, and if the weather at destination wer…
