The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I'm feeling nostalgic today. At 58 I'm enjoying simming more than ever. 25 plus years of pretend piloting. I'm grateful to so many that have made virtual reality so great. Thank you to all the developers who push the envelop, and those enthusiasts who help repair what gets broken along the way! Enjoy my recent screen captures from the moments that leave me grinning...

[Due credits up front: B744 SIM used is by iFly and FSX/P3D Repaint is by our Steve D.] In many respects, the life of a plane resembles that of any living being....so, find here, one such story, that of the two (and only two, the Airline had) Air Pacific B747-400s (DQ-FJK and DQ-FJL). The Air Pacific livery is strikingly colorful, and I recall this livery since my earliest days of exposure to the FS. DQ-FJL, subject of the screenshots, below, was born, as Line Number 722 (out of the total 1557 B747s built), at Everett (PAE), first flew on February 6 (1989), and after a distinguished service of 24 years, would be finally (and sadly), sent to Tupelo Regional Airport (K…

Given the miserable post-new year weather blues in the UK, I fancied a bit of GA flying in warmer climes, namely around the Netherlands Antilles - Sint Maarten and St. Barths. I think the main danger at Gustav III airport was not to me, but to the ground traffic on the roundabout! Total VFR flying, on the way back to TNCM WHOA! Close call with the biological flyers! Time to gather one's nerves.. Oh yes, and I bought a flying Land Rover to return to TFFJ (Flight1 BN2 Islander). I've since modified the FSX default.xml file as per the developer's instructions (Marc-Henri Guitteny) so…

Getting ready to depart Shreveport Regional (WG's MRO base), bound for their main hub at Southwest Florida International airport. There's 5 tons of ballast up front to keep things in shape. (FSX NOTAM: Sky Sim's MD-11 aircraft manager currently only has input fields for the PAX versions, but you still see the %MAC displayed when you alter payload and fuel via FSX's menu.) Turning on to course. She's quite nippy with minimal payload and fuel! Bye, bye Shreveport. Climbing up to cruise altitude. Feet wet over the Gulf of Mexico. Descending towards KRSW. First touchdown on a…

[Today, I read with interest, in our FS2020 Forum, the fact that we have now already passed "25,000" posts about the new simulator which is still a year away from release....(please see the topic "25,000" in the respective Forum). That signifies an unprecedented level of excitement and discussion about the new Simulator! It will be certainly an interesting 2020 for the SIM community...] Anyway, here, in this post, I do my own (annual) due diligence to examine the most downloaded FW files from 2019. Focusing on Aircraft alone, I've selected a representative sample of 19 images, posted below. Hope you'll enjoy the diversity (and collective beauty) of this FW sample, overl…

The Right Honorable Steve Drabek strikes again. For being retired, he sure is a busy one. Took his latest, a wonderful LTU A330-300, up for a quick hop at sunset. No prizes for guessing the airport. Nicely done, Steve, very nicely done. -Scott Brandenburg.

I'm following up, here, a bit, to explore these two airports and their vicinity in more detail (quite pretty in the SIM here and surely in RW too)...PAKT and TJSJ were the ORIG/DEST points in my earlier post of the DC8 Flight. For this objective, in this post, I've used a Zeppelin in the air and the 1st Person BOB on the ground. Side Notes of (maybe) general interest: Zeppelin NT, shown here, looks like, but, technically, is not a Blimp. Zeppelin NT is a (modern) continuation of the famous (Zeppelin) heritage founded by Ferdinand von Zeppelin, which constructed and operated the successful range of Zeppelin airships in early 20th century (test-flown on the shor…
