The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Colour me most impressed! 🍻 Lovely job! Not sure if any piston-powered aircraft are suitable fro Lukla, but everyone knows turboprops are. This one's a LONG way from home but looks good. Made it!! Scenery in the distance looks a little blurry down the valley ahead as I've got the LOD set to the default 4.5... Service ceiling of a Pucara is reportedly 31900 feet, where's that big mountain near here?? Found it! It was quite a nice exercise IMO having to nursemaid the Pucara up past 29000 feet. She really does run out of steam as one would expect. However, whilst I did find Lukla on the way back... I never made the lan…

Saw the unpronouncable DD had released their first for MSFS and as a fan, I had to get it. Haven't explored fully but a couple of shots for you At the risk of sounding like a place-name-dropper, I did see a little bit of Moscow on the same trip round the 'Stans in the 80s. Mostly only what the "guides" wanted us to see (they had very fit looking guides back then), and way before any modern stuff like in the last shots. Lots of statues and flags.

Greetings.. okay so this new sim has lots of options and people are already starting to produce add-ons... following some pioneering work done by others, I decided I wanted the Low and slow route to see the scenery that is so nice so came up with this conversion. No gauges yet, but perfectly flyable from the external view as it stands. Regards Graham

Its been a while since my Naval career ended, seeing someone flying over the graveyard at Davis Month. in Tucson, Az in a recent post here made me recall that I saw an actual helo that I worked on in the Navy, in Google maps in 3d mode. Here is "723"....a G model in our squadron that I crawled all over in a vain attempt to keep her airworthy when she flew with us, hehe. Here is her sister ship I worked on when I was station in the Persian Gulf back in '85. That is me on the end. Here is 723 in the sim.... Amazing.

  7. Just set my weather to overcast and grabbed the TBM and was going to see how she looks when she breaks out on top...perhaps one of the most breath-taking moments in real flying, and MSFS didn't disappoint either! When I broke through what I thought was the only overcast layer, the sim surprised me with another to go through (I didn't look at the cloud settings beforehand, just set it to "Overcast".) This turned out to be fortunate as I got some great shots! The lighting is the most realistic I've ever seen in a sim....love the light shafts between the layers....it was quite the sight When I made it through the 2nd layer, and finally on top....y…

  10. [Note: This is a lead-on from another member's post/image of the Classic Golden Nugget B727 Alaska Trijet.] During one of my two trips to Seattle, I still recall an Alaska Airlines 737, the modern livery, (with that hard-to-ignore smiling-face logo), parked near the Ted/United A320 I'd travelled on (Ted was gone a few years of that trip...),...there was something (endearing yet authoritative) about that face (especially viewing from one plane to the other plane) that has always stayed with me since... Anyway, mention of Convair and Connie, in the other posts, in connection with Alaska Air, made me look up two aircraft from Alaska's "past"...(i.e. from my deposit…

  14. Hey folks, If you're using the newest MSFS 2020, you may want to know that Aerosoft have released a free DLC airport, Germany's Paderborn/Lippstadt. A very nice little airport which I remember buying way back in FSX as German Airports 3. You can find it easily on Aerosoft's website. Here's a few screenshots from their airport in MSFS 2020, enjoy the view (unedited, reduced from 3440x1440):

Where? Almaty is the largest city in Kazakhstan. Formerly know as Alma-Alta. And I went there courtesy of Aeroflot in the mid 1980s. Believe it or not, a holiday touring the Stans in pre-Gorbachev USSR. So I was curious to see how this place looked in the sim. Not exactly an in-demand spot, I suspect, but rather well done, I thought. Again, no idea of the accuracy but the credibility is 100% (menu you can see at the top of the screen is the developers menu. One nice thing is the ability to change aircraft in mid flight, in case you weren't aware of it. Also got an interesting frame and stats counter)

Here are five (sample) images of, not usually seen, here, the B757 (C-32A) that I'd mentioned in my other B752F post (the first one, below, REG#90004, is of POSKY B757-200 (C-32A), shown in (symbolic) recognition of Project Open Sky, and the rest 4 (REG#80001) are for QW B752 (C-32A)). A total of four (specially configured) C-32A 752s were built. Please note again that QW had roots in POSKY...(many talented DEVs from POSKY went on to create (QW) B757/BAe-Avro/B787...later on...)... BTW, I was reading, today, (interesting) bits from an interview with Corey F, "We were all flight simulator enthusiasts who got the itch to try and make our respective areas of the si…

  22. I created a weather theme that I like. It's a modified 'Scattered Clouds' theme and it produces the clouds seen in these pics which I think are great for an afternoon of flying at 3500 to 4500 feet. I think it creates a realistic shaped and shaded cumulus. Here's the .WPR file contents. The files are in "LocalState/Weather/Presets" off of the FlightSim directory with the long name(let the reader understand). <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <SimBase.Document Type="WeatherPreset" version="1,3"> <Descr>AceXML Document</Descr> <WeatherPreset.Preset> <Name>dg200821B Scattered Cl…
