The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum
Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here. Please follow image posting rules (below). Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).
Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
- Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
- Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

Sorry, folks, about the catchy Title...🙂...these days, we (remaining) non-MSFS simmers, here, need all the help we can get...🙂....Now, seriously speaking, this post's locale transports you to New Zealand, a fascinating island country that consists of two primary landmasses, the North Island (NZ-NI) and the South Island (NZ-SI) [Side Note: BTW, New Zealand, actually, consists of an estimated 600 islands...!] I was "perusing" the internet today a bit about this beautiful country, and, it seems, at least, per one Survey, in 2017, it was voted the 3rd-most beautiful country in the world. For a relatively small geographical area, it, indeed, packs an incredible punch, with its…

The lightning in this sim is better than any I've seen (I wouldn't rule it perfect, but its the best thus far....maybe a modder will find the code for it and tweak it). I find the thunder very convincing. Poor rampees.....had to bring me in when I had no business flying. I'll buy them dinner. 🙂 Cloud to cloud.....but the lighting effects of the bolt as it illuminates the ground is awesome! OK...that one was a little close....they ran back in when that one hit 🙂 Pics just can't do the feeling of immersion justice.....

I can see my sister's retirement village in these shots..so it is accurate...and not bad...getting my 31 FPS locked...and no jagged roadways...clear...and crisp graphics at 160 knots...so..for my own wants and needs, a P3D winner. I think Orbx took great care to have optimized this, since it is released POST MSFS...and P3D is their main bread and butter...still! Climbing out of KPGD (Punta Gorda) for a Retirement Village fly over...lots of them in this part of Florida...and accurate...I can make out my sister's home...:) Now..about mid state on the south-bound...looking for P3D graphics, really good, at 3,500 ASL

In view of the recent "modification" to the port of Beirut a Western Global freighter was chartered to fly aid to Beirut. Departing from EGNX, bound for OLBA. Preparing for loading & fuelling. Ratcliffe on Soar power station in the background. Punching through the haze which had moved in. FSX NOTAM nope, no help for the lack of undercarriage door animations to date Approaching the French coast - no small boats in sight.. For the majority of the flight we'll be cruising at FL350, but climb up to FL400 when we're a bit lighter. Passing over the Swiss Alps. Venice is off to the…

This is the 1st sim that I can honestly say that out of the box...the nasty weather looks ominous enough that I was genuinely scared when I loaded up "thunderstorms" in the sim and this was at the departure end......I did the tightest 180 in the history of flight and high-tailed it out of there! As I got further away...you could really get a sense of how high the tops were.....this is an awesome shot!

Just a few shots from me getting a little more familiar with the Twin Otter from Aerosoft and trying out the free FSDG Cape Verde scenery. There's at least one airfield GVSV which is sitting on a tall plateau which I'll need to fix I was going to land at it until I saw the state of it - (no screenshot).

[Note: I'd recently touched on the history of Qantas, via several posts, fulfilling a long-held desire to get to know the Kangaroo a bit better....(I recall a member had even awarded me a "Kangaroo" for it....🙂...hoping, though, it was from an Australian...)...including the most recent post on it where I'd flown the Qantas 787-9 to Antarctica (mimicking, in part, Qantas' upcoming sightseeing pleasure trips to overfly that exotic continent...). In less than two and half months, from today, on November 16, Qantas, will be reaching the remarkable milestone of its Centenary Birthday - only the 3rd (continuously operating) Airline in history to do so (after KLM and Avianca). I…

Just random pics I took while testing fps and stuff in a storm........ Hey guys..... Remember back at the dawn of time, (about a month ago) when we thought volumetric clouds meant a circle a few miles wide above your plane? And tanked frame rates?

Oh dears, how I love to fly over Switzerland and especially in the Swiss Alps. Would you like to join me? For those who want to know the location or/and want to compare with MSFS: So if you ever wanted to know how the Eiger with its famous north face looks from the rear side, now you know 🙂 The Eiger has been highly publicized for the many tragedies involving climbing expeditions, because its north face "Eiger Nordwand" is one of the most challenging and dangerous ascents. The name Eiger comes from Oger = ogre, Mönch is the german/swiss word for monk and Jungfrau is the german/swiss word for virgin. As you can see, the monk stands betw…

I am very much into vintage planes, but there are none in MSFS. And who knows, how long it will take to get some. So over the last couple of days I have tried to port some of my FSX planes to MSFS, with sometimes surprisingly decent results. For help how to do this, I used this YT video and downloaded the free plane-converter software, mentioned in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkHDY5j6AyE&feature=youtu.be Here are some of the planes I was able to port over, both free- and pay-ware. All of them are (with some reservations) fully flyable in MSFS. In most cases, don’t expect systems to work as in FSX. That is why I fly them by hand. I will …
