The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  2. OK...If you're a resident of one of the Nordic countries up there, you already know...🙂...However, if you live in far-off parts of the world (as I do), you may or may not know where Espoo is, which is a city in Finland, located just about 10 miles west of Helsinki, the capital city of Finland. I have never visited nor lived in Espoo, but I often chat with a colleague who is a life-long resident of Espoo. In fact, earlier this week, I was telling him that Chicago is (currently) getting blanketed by heavy snow and was told that Finland is no stranger to heavy snow either. Indeed, Finland gets a lot of snow, especially in Lapland, the country's northernmost region, which is …

I wouldn't want to be on the cutter right now, I'd be fighting my heart out.... That will be interesting! I'll pause my flight and wait to see what happens below me That was to be expected Fortunately, the crew and the sailboat survived And with that, I would like to say goodbye for the next four weeks, as I plan to tour parts of Southeast Asia.

Pictures regarding a post I'm about to make. It's about how the flight plans from youtube videos have a different distance than when I plot the exact same flight path in my game. 8. [With no respite from the winter's snow and cold around here in Chicago, and, while I'm already (virtually) visiting Finland...in a make-believe summertime....🙂... (see my previous post), I thought I might as well extend my (virtual) visit up there, by exploring a bit of the neighboring country, Norway, across Finland's western border. I used to often explore Orbx's Norway in the past SIMs, but have not visited it in the MSFS world...] Mountains and oceans are fascinating, generally considered to be natural attractions of the world (and I personally agree wholeheartedly), drawing visitors with their landscapes and ecosystems. Now combine the mountains and oceans tog…

I'm branching out a little today with a flight from Kenora, Ontario to Waterloo, Ontario Canada. We're in the dead of winter up here and it's nice to see some snow pics once in a while. CYQK is freeware on flightsim.to and I just picked up Astrailis Studio's CYKF for around 15 USD. The paint is payware quality from master painter TimHH. Our routing today is CYQK AGLIN KENPA CYKF at FL410. We've got a monster tailwind in the LJ35 so we'll do about 530 knots over the ground - the flight is shy of three hours from ramp to ramp. Please Enjoy! We're fairly light and easily up and away as we bank left and turn SE towards AGLIN. Kenora sits on the north s…

  11. Well...not exactly the Corn fields...but close...🙂...In my previous post (see it if you like), I'd chosen to fly high above the (Canadian) Cascade Range...with mountains characterized by volcanic peaks and icy glaciers. Today, the day after, thanks to the limitless possibilities afforded by our hobby...🙂, I've chosen to fly for this post, a short 80-miles trip, over the flatlands of Midwest, recreating a train-journey I had recently taken during the Christmas break last year. Now, you might have heard (or read) that this region of the Midwestern U.S. (consisting of states such as Illinois and Indiana) is part of the (so-called) Corn Belt, known for its corn and soybean pr…

I'm flying the COWS DA42 IFR from F45 to MLB Florida - we filed 8000 ft - which gave us a lovely view of the clouds tops for most of the flight. Tim did a superb job on this livery inside and out! Cirrus clouds and jets aloft! A nice day to fly whether high or low! This is when I feel the sim is most accurate - these little gaps in the clouds just like irl really makes me feel like I'm there Passing KFPR Treasure Coast Vero Beach (I think haha) We begin our descent - apparently it's clear just 30 miles ahead - we'll see City of Melbourne FL …

Wanted to fly a route I often flew on MSFS2020, but on 2024. I waited for months to be able to compare the two sims on a familiar route, as I wanted to have AIGTC working. I was finally able to complete the flight earlier this week, and I can say I am quite relieved ! The flight was even smoother than with MSFS2020 thanks to DLSS4. It was a real pleasure to take off in 1440p 60 fps from CYUL, and to land with the same smoothness 6 hours later in Lyon. A few issues though : > time sync not OK out of the box. I understood too late that a mod "corrects" this bug > AIG quirks but it was not perfect on 2020 either > fuel consumption not correc…

  20. Not flying the Baby Boeing 736 for a prolonged period...lasting more than a month or so...brings about a bit of "withdrawal syndrome" for me...🙂...And, so far, in MSFS2024/Xbox, having attempted to fly this airplane about a couple of times (with somewhat mixed results), I thought of giving it another try this week. I discovered that as long as I do not mess with its EFB, things in the cockpit appear normal. However, when I see the MAP page of the EFB...randomly flickering and flashing, I know that's a harbinger of bad news for me in Xbox, since that kind of anomalous behavior, I am certain, would quickly lead to freezing of my mouse cursor, TV screen or/and the aircraft. …

  22. First of all, which Mount Washington...I'm referring to here...🙂...? Because, within U.S. there are several Mount Washingtons...at least 5. In the PNW, there are 4, including one in the state of Washington. But the one I'm visiting (virtually) here today is very far from the state of Washington, on the other side of the country, in the state of New Hampshire. However, this mountain, by its own right, is quite significant and a prominent presence...significant because it's named after George Washington, the first president of the U.S., and prominent because, to the east of the Rockies, it's one of the highest peaks of the Appalachian Range in the eastern U.S. Today, …
