Screenshot Image Posting Rules
- Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own. See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/

- Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
- No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
- AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.

In my previous post I'd made references to the Pratt & Whitney PT6A-140 turboprop engine, which made me think a bit more about some of the (legendary) Pratt & Whitney Aero Engines. And a month or so ago, around here in Chicago, taking advantage of a brief (and transient) warm weather, I'd paid a visit to the local Science Museum (hadn't visited it in several years). My one must-see exhibit there has always been the UAL (N7017U) B727, preserved and suspended (rather impressively), inside the building, as if it's still in flight. That 727 trijet was (once) powered by the triplet of Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines. As I stood inches away from the engines and ran my …

Here is a small airplane, (exclusively offered) in the MSFS2024 a/c line-up, that I've been eyeing for quite some time, but never got to fly. Before I even looked into it and came to know that the "Draco" aircraft is essentially derived from the PZL Wilga model, which is a Polish-made short takeoff and landing (STOL) a/c; the Draco seemed already somewhat familiar to me...as an old friend from the FSX days...🙂...Indeed, you might recall the Aerosoft PZL Wilga X... (harking back to the days when I would look into the Aerosoft website on a regular basis for any new aircraft, which were not only always worth the price...🙂...but also delivered on the fun...). The Draco X…

Hey, I see that Daniel is still active in the avsim library in 2024 for the aerosoft F16, I am not sure of his username or email. I see that he has done the Kelly-Lackland-San Antonio, Texas F16s. I am looking for a recreation of the 147th FW Ellington Field (retired). The 147th is arguably the most successful F16 squadron in history with a 100% success rate and accurarcy on target with no downtime due to mechanicals. Today they fly drones... (as they lost the bid for the F35s to the FTW NAS, I think). with or without Texans logo with "Ace in the hole" or "Dont mess with Texas" (goes hard in the paint!) Without Texans logo …

Here is a remarkable milestone in the history of aviation that does not lose its appeal with passage of time, at least in my mind. Since the earliest days of my interest in this hobby, I've reviewed and studied this event, and also often replicated it for myself in our virtual world of aviation. I'd done it initially with the default 747s of FS9/FSX, and with JF's Classic 747s, and then later with the (trend-setter) PMDG versions of the 747 released for FS9 (in 2005) and for FSX (in 2007). It's well-known that the first commercial flight of a Boeing 747 (a -100 variant) was on January 22, 1970, exactly 55 years plus a month ago from today (February 22, 2025), operate…

I know people say that 2020 is not getting ongoing updates but I also know my sim personally continues to look better and better. This first round is 2020 departing KSFO for KEWR in the early hours but what astounded me was every single texture was defined for as far as I could see. Down to every individual light on the wind farm from 20,000ft. Departing KSFO Taxi out with the lights all the way to the North visible and illuminating the base of the hills across the bay Hard bank and 180 degree turn back to the East Banking... Looking North to San Francisco but as far as you can see to the horizon is defined Loo…

Hi simmers ☺️ Yesterday I completed a 10h flight from KSFO to EDDF with a MD-11 Delta. The flight plan directed me over the North Pole and there I had a wonderful encounter with the Northern Lights. I've been flying in MSFS2020 for 4,5 years now and haven't seen this yet and now when I wasn't thinking anything bad it showed up. The ADD On has been installed for ages but it has never appeared ( until now ), it was almost like “real life”, I was really flashed !!! some endpoint over the north pole under my wings - shortly before goein…

Thought I'd create a thread for people to post any shots they feel appropriate to the other thread ( https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/664889-fs-2024-amazing-graphics-again/ ) Not just for my sort of ground level stuff, anything anybody thinks illustrates 2024's visual excellence will work. Cockpit shots, cloudscapes at FL300 or whatever anyone thinks is impressive. I'll kick off with two shots for one scenario. A really foul day today, flying to Glastonbury with live weather, wanted to check out the Tor. Took the dronecam down and was amazed by what I found in the actual building. Just a minor tech note, all my shots are 4k and ultra plus (LODs at 400), but …

I've been enjoying a lot of low and slows around the West Country down here, mostly using the Norden. It's a nice enough plane, nearest replacement I can find for the Grravel from 2020 (which figures, as it's another GotFriends plane) but I wish MSFS would remember the model and livery used from previous flights. There are a few aircraft from 2020 I would probably prefer to use but even the ones that actually work don't have a visible pilot in external view and given that is my preferred viewpoint that makes them unattractive for me. I've taken to using Active Sky, although I forgot to start it before this session so this is just native 2024 live weather. And not jus…

Flying the Royal Turbine Duke from 2NC0 to KBCT Boca Raton FL. Rules at 2NC0 are that the field must be VFR and you depart daytime only. So we had to wait a little for the weather to clear. With the weather cleared up enough we file IFR (to pickup after we're airborne) and head out This rendition of 2NC0 is by Pilot's. There is also a freeware version by Windhover. The payware from Pilot's is a bit nicer but both are pretty good. Making a solid bank to the southwest to clear the ridge and remain VFR until we can get in contact with Atlanta Center for the IFR pickup. We're going to maintain VFR and climb through this hole - i…
