The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

  2. I was reading a bit today, about Flying Boats....The few years post-WWII (1946-1950) was a fascinating (and busy) period for flying-boat services around the world. The period was, however, short-lived because land-based marathoners like Lockheed Constellations and Douglas DC-6s were already around the corner. In the U.K., with Short Brothers' (famous) war-time behemoths (particularly, S.23/S.30 Empire Flying Boats and S.25 Sunderlands/Sandringhams) readily available, BOAC revived its Flying Boat passenger routes, some routes were extended (or modified), and other new destinations were added. After the Shorts wartime factories were closed, all operations relocated to Belfa…

Fehmarn is a small and picturesque island on Germany's North-east coast. It almost never snows there, so I played a bit the weather god and added some snow 😉 Fehmarn’s famous bridge that connects it to the mainland Thanks for viewing

  5. To celebrate v1.2 of FlyTampa Las Vegas, here're some screenshots from a extended local flight visiting the area within VFR rules (corridor and routes). Henderson (KHND), Boulder (KBVU), North Las Vegas are among the fields visited and my favorite FBO Atlantic at KLAS. GPS track from Foreflight mobile app: Departing runway 1L. Quick right look to see liner's terminal... ... Left look at the Atlantic FBO where I use to go (in real and in sim). Not the cheapest one but as it was the first one I practise years ago I assume the fees and benefit from the shuttle: Cool Photogrammetry area: After overflying Henderson and staying…

Another portover at Hawaii. Flight model is a bit erratic but good to see again. It'll be nice when the aircraft start coming along for MSFS. Presumably once the SDK is sorted there'll be a rush of stuff converted over by the original vendors. As long as they don't take the p*** on the pricing I'm sure they'll all do quite well. I'm not a serious pilot, not even remotely interested in all the buttons and dials and procedures etc, but I do like to have some interesting birds to pose around the scenery in (and if that upsets anybody, sorry, but there you go)

  8. In our SIM world, we're quite familiar with Canada's two largest Airlines (Air Canada and WestJet). I'd travelled once each, in Air Canada's 767 and WestJet's 737. This post is about another (much smaller, but interesting) Canadian airline, Air North, based out of Yukon, touted as "Yukon's Airline". My interest in this airline was revived this past week by images of an (excellent) airnorth DC-3/C-47 livery, painted by a member here (the repaint is for P3D/PBR, so, I am not able to fly it, here, on FSX/SE, but many of you can, if you wish to, however, I've included, below, a couple of images below from the Painter's README). Air North with its characteristic "Compass" logo…

  9. Thanks to my discovery of IVAO's Concorde Anniversary Round The World Tour I now have several routes suitable for the supersonic beauty. https://www.ivao.aero/Worldtour/2017/sst/Concorde World Tour 2017a.pdf The second flight is from KJFK to SOCA. Definitely filing an IFR flight plan!! I do wish the lighting was a little bit better for taxiing out. Right. Time to let New York know that we're on the way! What do you mean overspeed?? She IS speed! (FSX NOTAM - still getting to grips with the airspeed in the climb..) Descending towards French Guiana and slowing down. Being vectored fo…

Spent a day or two trying to port some of the hangar over. Getting maybe 10-15% success rate, had some really disappointing "almost works" examples (Staggerwing and YMF5 were both ones I really wanted to use, and came really close), but some of the ones that came across as usable are quite splendid. The B-58 even has working instruments. First up, the Hercules. This is a bit of a looker - the F-80 Shooting Star Had to have several attempts at this, got one that is ok now once you get off the ground but that in itself is a challenge. The Mirage 2000 - And a C-17 Cargomaster A long term favourite of mine - the B-58 Which was…

A few weeks ago I was bragging about a huge tailwind and a GS over 400kts (around 430 I recall). This was my predicament this morning. Literally 200kts slower than my last trip in the TBM 😭

Just one for now - Not a perfect port over, still got the engine covers on (maybe it's the special RSPB model)

Early pics.....just grabbed it! Working out some performance issues...but OMG. Everything is animated...the digital signs...the fountain, the Ferris wheel....completely gobsmacked. I'll be adding more pics as I get them....this is the most detailed scenery bar none so far.

We had an impromptu gathering and did some Alaska flying. @Ron Attwood, and I'm sorry I don't know who JT is on Avsim (or Norm) were in attendance @Bert Pieke and @cavaricooper were with us a bit beforehand but had to leave before the SNOW hijinks kicked in. Anyway...was a blast landing on a glacier (and we had a laugh with the pronunciation since there were a few nationalities in the group, LOL). We landed uphill as you can see in the pics, and with all that snow, you don't have any reference points to judge your approach...its pretty tricky. After we took off we flew thru the gorgeous mountain pass on the other side of the mountain, was spec…

  20. I recently upgraded from the free Southend to the Xtreme Southend from UK2000. granted I didn't show much of the airport in these shots, but so far, so good. Took the Skymaster up for a jaunt, headed roughly NNW, nowhere in particular, no flight plan, and landed when my wife got back from the shops.. Cheers 🍻
