The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.

I think I lost the edit ability on the last post (waited too long to finish the flight)...anyway....turns out the pilot was pretty good and managed to land her safely! (I honestly didn't think I could....nor did my GIB, LOL) Flying around the island to line up my approach.... This island is really well modeled! Quite beautiful The rock outcroppings are stunning 1st pass....abysmally high and fast....played it safe and resisted the urge to slam it down and hope....let's try again.... Love this shot! Here we go again....much better sight picture this time, speed is good (and slowing with the speed brake out) This is looking good! …

GIB is one of the names pilots give to the "Guy in Back".....This pilot is convinced his superior skills will allow him to land his little Italian jet on Saba, which you see below...just off the tip of the canopy. Being a junior officer and not wanting to doubt his pilot's skills, the GIB just accepts what this nut is about to try. You see the GIB's one hand on the dash, but what you don't see is his other hand on the ejection seat handle. 🤣

So, when I switched my sim PC on today the windows welcome screen had a nice image, so I clicked to see more, and it turned out to be Halong (sometimes Ha Long) Bay in north Vietnam. One of those land/sesacape images you've seen before but never really taken in. So thought I'd go visit. Nearest airport seems to be VVCI, and everything that follows is pure default MSFS - no addons either free or payware. Once again, I'm well impressed. I changed the weather and season mid way just because I can! All 4k and ultra or higher, as usual. That looked interesting so went down fo a nose around A bit further on over Cat Ba Island, probably the biggest island in …

  5. Talk is talk. Real is real. This leaves me with a pang of hunger when I attempt to "fly forward...." And this on reliable autopilot so I can sit back, relax, and enjoy it, despite no view of the "new" ground. This is what emerges from sincere partnerships with reliable and renown 3rd parties. Aircraft models, avionics, weather, ATC.... I want it all! I want it all! Promise me this. Then deliver on a timely basis.

Now that song is in your head, isn't it? 🙂 Did my 1st real flight in the Longitude, KTEX to KLAS....when I was parking her, caught this rather nice moonrise over the desert mountains. EDIT: Added one more from the other side after the moon was up a bit....illuminating the aircraft fuse...and the background leaves no doubt where I am. 🙂 One lucky passenger to have this view... She is a beautiful aircraft. Was a very nice trip!

One of my favorite airport names, Rapid City, or KRAP. 🤣 Took off from Custer Co airport just south of the 2 memorials...and when I was done sightseeing, headed for KRAP that was not far away at all. Asobo did a great job on Rushmore! This plane is the STOL king...I landed her on the Helo pad at Rushmore. 🙂 Crazy Horse....still being created it looks like. The designer of this great plane just added night lighting to the cockpit...so she can fly at night now. 🙂 Beautiful moon tonight! There is KRAP! Safely on the ground for the evening. Can't get enough of sightseeing around the world...and I'm still just in the US! 🙂

  11. Off of R19 at KWWD, Cape May County, NJ, headed south toward Cape May Point. Below here at Cape May Point you can see the Cape May Lighthouse below, courtesy of: Tankminder (Tom G). It and his other three lighthouses that follow in this post are all available at flightsim.to. A view from off Ocean City, NJ toward Margate City and Atlantic City. A look at the southern Jersey Shore from Wildwood up to Stone Harbor and Avalon. Atlantic City is just coming into sight in the distance. A closeup look at the Atlantic City Skyline scenery v1.2 by mbiebel872. Also on Slightsim.to. I did not observe the Absecon Lighthouse a…

  14. Testing the brilliant new Yosemite scenery for @VFXSimmer.....I had to land my Cub in the canyon between the majestic peaks and lay in the grass for a bit. 🙂

Saw another bit of freeware at Flightsim.to and went to check out the location. The basic scenery itself is pretty good, but the freeware just tops it off nicely with some nice touches with the buildings This is the sort of quality you would have maybe paid 15 pounds/euros/dollars for in P3D from several of the second tier scenery vendors. Pretty impressive.

I was looking back here to try and find who mentioned this first. I thought I'd read about it in a post here but can't find it now, so I'll give it another plug. Completely spurious, and will no doubt confirm to some folk that MSFS is not to be taken seriously, but boy this was fun. I look forward to seeing the giraffes appearing at the top of the Eiffel Tower any day now! https://flightsim.to/file/4161/london-heathrow-elephant-invasion Bit of a frame rate killer and a bit heavy on the load time, but great for an occasional lighter moment. And (I think) it looks stunning! I'll avoid all jokes about jumbos (oh well, almost made it), but I will just say that I hop…

  17. Make sure you read this placard. 😉 Love the detail in MSFS. Not much doubt where my morning flight took me this morning. 🙂 I "think" I was flying in the Longitude....but wasn't really sure....Glad the engine nacelle clears that up for you. 🤣
