The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. So, continuing from the previous set, heading north towards the Humber, with the towers for the bridge just coming in to view and here we are, heading over the bridge Heading off towards EXGE Nice countryside up here right about here the sim got so bad, more seconds-per-frame than frames-per-second, that it became uncontrollable, and the Typhoon became a giant lawn dart. I've spared you the images. I do hope this gets resolved soon.

  3. Just got myself the very, very impressive RAF Coningsby from flightsim.to. https://flightsim.to/file/10045/egxc-raf-coningsby Highly recommended. Couldn't see a donate button but if the author wants to put one there I'm in. Better than a fair bit of the payware I've bought lately. My new usual thing - record the flight and then come back to replay to look around, take pix etc. Bit of a frustrating flight, was hit unbelievably badly with the low FPS (2-10), stutters etc. So bad at the end of the flight I couldn't control the aircraft, getting 1 fps at most. I wasn't sure whether to just post one of these shots in the "videos" section - it was that slow. Got some nice …

  4. In the past, during Sim Market SALEs, I'd purchased a few airport sceneries, but, somehow, have forgotten to install a couple of them. Here is one that I got to install today, (LTAC) ANKARA ESENBOĞA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT by SCENERYTR (my first purchase from SCENERYTR). I was looking it up there, in Sim market, a bit, and did notice all 8 "User" reviews of this scenery to be ranked 5*, which, I guess is good, because, I am a believer of Reviews by "Users" (or "Verified Users" as noted there)...so, anyway, here, below, please find, a set of images, captured, from my quick (virtual) tour, around this Airport. Plus, regarding a classic Piper aircraft, I caught a few (RW/…

  5. [This post was triggered by comments, exchanged, in my earlier B717 post]. I love mountains. And, I am also intrigued by small regional airlines and their history (whether within U.S. or elsewhere), more so, than the world-dominator global airlines...🙂...And, here is an Airline, that has long invited my fancy, and was actually the pre-cursor of the US Air (US Air would be later branded as US Airways, and, eventually, be absorbed by American Airlines). The Allegheny Mountain Range (or the Alleghenies) is part of the vast Appalachian Mountain Range spanning across several states in the Eastern United States, a region I'm somewhat familiar with, from my past visits. The…

  8. Had time this afternoon as I await tonight's St Louis Blues at Anaheim Duck's NHL hockey game to take some hops to a number of MSFS addon airports. I started at KMYF, Montgomery-Gibbs Executive in San Diego, where I ended up yesterday after a flight up to Big Bear from Orange County. Today I sky toured a number of MSFS addons for the San Diego area and flew to and landed at KTOA - Torrance; then KAVX - Catalina Island; on to KLGB -Long Beach; then KSMO - Santa Monica; then to KSNA - John Wayne/Orange County. These images are all sized to 1280 so you can see larger images if you click on each of them. However if you then proceed through them with only the right and le…

Very nice...have both volume one (Europe) and volume 2 (North America) This is Volume 2-North America in play...near the Sarnia River, between Michigan and Ontario. The best tree and flora I've seen, and the tree placements are natural, far from XP default!

  11. ... lies the beautiful island of Socotra. Canyons, peaks, wadis. You get them all. Never been there, a bit dangerous, but it seems that MFS does it justice. Go and see by yourself, you won't regret it The default XCub (with Martial Fréron's ALAT livery) was exactly what I needed to make a first small tour. This aircraft grows on me, a good one. The modelling feels good. The new drone camera offers a lot to frame the shots but there is a learning curve...Still climbing. I used the free Flight Recorder, thanks to Mr Nguyen Quy Hy.

  13. I'd (recently) flown the (RNZAF) B757-200 into McMurdo Station, and the 757, though a favorite plane of mine, I'd not flown that SIM, in my recent memory, till that flight. So, here, I continue my stint with the (CS version of) 757, but with the stretched (-300) variant of it...so, the "Flying Pencil", as someone had commented, in my earlier post,...gets even a more "Pencil" look, in this post... BTW, this reminds me of an incidence...Once, at O'Hare, I happened to be in a rush to get to my departure gate (this was probably the only time I was in a rush to get to the gate, usually I'm there well-before the plane docks in the gate..🙂...)...no, actually, there was prob…

We may have seen skip-equipped Pipers, Cessnas, DHC Otters, Antonov Colts, and Douglas DC-3s etc., but how about a "75 ton" heavy-laden C-130 Hercules...(not a common sight)....[A (trivial) side note on weight: In American English, a ton is a unit of measurement equaling 2,000 pounds. In non-U.S. measurements, a ton equals 2,240 pounds. A tonne, also known as a metric ton, is a unit of mass equaling 1,000 kilograms. So, a 75 US ton heavy (C-130) would be approximately 67 metric ton (tonne) in weight.] The primary mission of the the Ski Hercules (LC-130) is supporting the scientific community in Antarctica by transporting cargo and personnel to the stations and camps …

  20. Headed out of Gloucester, into South Wales with no destination in mind, got to Abergavenny and felt the strange urge to set down and go for a walk round. Didn't seem to have the stutters as bad today, so maybe it's been a server problem. Time will tell (or not)

Endless stutters and low frame rates since the update, but you can't see that in a screenshot! Just one out from KOLM, was heading for Seattle but gave up after ten minutes of between 10 and 1 (!) FPS

I hope you’ll allow me to post here on occasion a few non-aircraft related screenshots. MSFS offers too good an opportunity for it. This one will be followed by two more (with different ships) and then it’s back to flying. Promised! The ships are FSX models that I have ported over to MSFS. They are pilotable, but not impressed by any sort of weather you throw at them. This has the benefit of not getting seasick. Moving around the ship, I use the drone feature. The Out Skerries are an archipelago of islets, some inhabited, in Shetland, Scotland, and are the easternmost group of Shetland's islands. Locally, they are usually called Da Skerries or just Skerries. …
