The AVSIM Screen Shots Forum

Have a favorite screen shot of your simulator that you would like to share? You can by posting it here.  Please follow image posting rules (below).  Images must be hosted on an image hosting website. Please use prefixes to identify the simulator you are using (see pinned topic for guidance). Please include information about the screenshot(s) such as location (flight plan?), the aircraft, weather engine, scenery (i.e., Orbx/FTX, GEX, FSDT, FlightBeam, FlyTampa, etc.).

Screenshot Image Posting Rules

  • Images must be hosted on your own image server site, such as Drop Box, Google Drive, Photobucket.com, OZx Image Hosting, or a website that you own.  See guidance at following link - http://www.avsim.com/topic/479802-how-do-i-post-a-screenshot/
  • Images can be of any size; however, be considerate of your fellow AVSIM members as large photos will take longer to load for some members who do not have fast Internet connections.
  • Images will automatically be resized to fit the viewer's screen width. This process is done automatically by the AVSIM website program.
  • No more than 20 images per thread (topic). Moderators will remove any image that exceed this requirement.
  • AVSIM members are reminded of the AVSIM Terms of Service in respect to images, and copyrighted and intellectual property. Images that violate our policies regarding copyrights and family safe environment will be removed and, depending on the severity of violation, user suspended or banned from AVSIM.
  • Images copyrighted on other websites such as Airliners.net are not allowed and will be removed immediately.
  1. Here, in this Part II, I pick up, where I'd left off, in my previous post, on my (virtual) MD-11 trip, having indicated, an impromptu diversion to be made, at the discretion of "yours truly", after reaching cruise altitude (FL290), see the second screenshot below, bit off-track (north), towards the the Sierra Nevada (‘Snowy Mountain’) range. This range is one of the most famous mountain ranges in Spain, located in the southern province of Andalusia, boasting the highest point in continental Spain, Mulhacén, (at 11,413 ft above sea level). In winter, the Sierra Nevada is a popular skiing destination within close reach of some of Spain’s most beautiful cities such as Granad…

  2. No real shots of the airport in this set, but it is a nice match for the Orbx cityscape. I did also have CloudSurfAsia's Cityscape but the Orbx appeals more to me so that's what I shall use now. Never sure whether all these boats are part of the basic sim, or the AI Ships package, or the Singapore package or what, but there's a lot of them and they're might fine! These are all set around approx 07:30 and with broken cloud setting, all 4k and ultra plus.

  3. The Swiss Air livery has always fascinated me, as unique, with its (distinctive) white cross (known as the Swiss cross) on a red background, same as (and inspired by) the symbol on the national flag of Switzerland. The symbol rarely goes unnoticed around the airports. The (historic) symbolism of the white cross is rooted in the Swiss Federal Council of 1889 (with origin traced back to 1339), as a field sign of the "Old Confederacy". The original Swissair (airline) had served as the (proud) flag carrier of Switzerland, for more than seven decades. It's to be noted that the currently operational entity, called Swiss International Air Lines (or Swiss Air Lines), was partly i…

  4. I was perusing the freeware files a bit today...and came across a few interesting "Sim Objects"... Two images each of the 4 items and notes, are below. Enjoy...! [1] B727-200 Iberia Boeing 727-256, Classic livery. Note the profuse (exhaust) smoke of this (JT8D-9 powered) Trijet...! Here is this Boeing's life in a nutshell, "The aircraft was built and acquired in U.S. with registration N1787B, then operated, in Iberia colors, as EC-CBA (as in images, below). It was discharged in Spain May 11 (1973), and sold (back) in USA, on April 04 (2001), and re-enrolled as N905RF for Republic Advanced Freighter." [2] This is the Howard 250 Trigear. After the WWII wa…

Can't really see the airport, was just messing around with one of the replay packages but quite liked this shot.

  9. Sadly, this flight went all screwy near Iceland and thus never reached its destination of Copenhagen... Air Greenland's hub is at Kangerlussuaq on the western side of Greenland. They have one "heavy" - an Airbus A330-200 which is used for their Copenhagen route (most other Air Greenland flights are internal). Winter in the northern hemisphere means that there's not a lot of sunlight at higher latitudes. Climbing away from BGSF. Opinions are mixed on being able to see the Milky Way at altitude, and what you actually see. I like this: By dawn's early light.. Here you can see the lat/long waypoints of the…

Even though today was kinda busy I had a couple of hours to crank out some more Mooney repaints. I thought I'd hate this one but I really like it - at least you'll be visible to other aircraft lol. If you've seen my screenshots through the years you've likely noticed I love combinations of red, black and or silver/grey hehe. Untitled-10 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr Untitled-9…

  14. Trio of shots of a Bredok3d 737 Max in an Icelandair livery, on its way out of Keflavik, at dawn. Weather was straight Asobo Clear Skies, & I continue to be amazed at the dawn colors they come up with. After the shots I added in Rex Weather Force Live Weather, which CTD the flight. I had read RWF was doing this & now I know!😀 T45

Some pics for those who love Hawaii and want to add some very nice airports to the region: This region is only going to get better once the watermasks are updated an FSDT releases their Hawaiian airports. It's good to see that there are developers focusing their efforts on Hawaii. Happy flying. Jose

I was looking back at some old screen grabs and was surprised to remember how good AFS2 looks. I'm pretty much spending all my time in MSFS these days but I think I might go back and take a few flights in AFS2 again over the next week or so. All these pics pre-date MSFS, some by a good couple of years.
